I own 2, one for my Sig P365 and another for my Springfield XDS. Smooth finish, rounded edges, comfortable to wear, and absolutely no complaints. And, as a veteran myself, I was happy to support this company which is all veteran operated.

When I’m out in the backcountry I always have one. I have a rifle if in camp or hiking somewhere with low traffic. If I’m somewhere I may expect to see people I’ll just carry concealed.

I liked mine for a while but tech is speeding up so fast, this is kind of obsolete. I do like the led lights but pretty bulky. My charger pack ( I did a review of it) has a light and charges everything I need when camping. Thanks a ton for watching and for your feedback. Randy

I'm from uk and obviously wondering same as you, but don't have as many options. I'd say if you're well-hidden in a forest, you won't be outnumbered like in a civilised spot. So, without a firearm, I'd go for a choice stick as my main arm and my handy lightweight pick (being a geologist) for follow-up. The threat of the follow-up should be enough one-to-one if you get a good swing in first. In your case, shoot the zombie in the foot? But I get where you're coming from. Getting in trouble with the law is the bigger threat in many ways.

Your ferro rod technique is bad. Common sense should tell you that a few sparks spread over a 6 inch diameter isn't going to do much, especially when you only have a light dusting of Mg all spread out. Plant the rod in the center and pull it up against the scraper so all the sparks are concentrated. Make sure all of the Mg is in a little pile on the tinder. You could probably light that tinder with just the rod.

    • @randysoutdoorgearopinions9748

🔫Besides the obvious; you have no one to fall back on, except for yourself. Also, 3 gunshots in a row is a universal call for help. Those gunshots are going to reach out farther than any of your SCREAMS will! Also, if there’s any chance of you running into people while you’re off-road, DON’T “open carry.” No one needs to know that you’re armed…especially if they have bad intentions. (The element of surprise will be on your side.) And if the people you run into aren’t carrying, it’s probably because they’re not gun people, so don’t give them a reason to be fearful of you. When I’m backpacking, I’ve got a little Fanny Pack that I bought at REI that I wear “in front,” where my hip belt buckles. That way, it doesn’t look like a holster, it’s easily accessible, and as far as anyone is concerned, that’s where my snacks/energy bars are kept! As far as ammo goes, I want the most penetration possible. Living in Alaska since 1967, I learned 2 things: Grizzly Bears are at the top of the food chain, and blowing-out a shoulder joint will keep them from getting to you. You could destroy their heart and because they have a primitive central nervous system, they can still cover 100 yards in a matter of seconds and STILL maul you to death. Even a 9mm with 147 grain Underwood Hard Cast +P (1100 fps) with their “Black Cherry” polymer coating, is better than nothing. (A 460 S&W with a 3” barrel would be ideal, because it’s stout and is easier to swing around inside of your tent…should something surprise you in the middle of the night. Trying to swing a shotgun around inside of your 1 or 2 man tent could be a little… cumbersome.) Bottom line: What other people don’t know, won’t hurt them…or their “feelings.” Happy Trails!

Don’t expect the tent to go back to how it was when putting it away. It’s one of the worse tent and annoying to put away

Hello. I am not sure of the size. I have copied and pasted the amazon link below. I've heard about a woman near Albuquerque NM. Who had been sleeping in her tent when a Bear tore through her tent and mauled her.🤔 The idea of wildlife being mostly benign, most of the time I can believe. But pumas and bears aren't always predictable. Remember, you can only be wrong once... So yeah, arm yourself.⛏️🪓⚔️
