It's not a must you have Ghallywood. You can be a Ghanaian and shot Nollywood films. Just like Canadians are doing movies and it's still categorised as Hollywood. Having a wood is not a must. Note: this is coming from a business concern perspective, not any ridiculous nationalistic mindset.

Nigeria only has a Nollywood. What you are referring to as division of the movie industry in Nigeria is not a division at all but different groups of Producers but under the Nollywood. That is the Film Industry in Nigeria. Every actor whether, films in Igbo language, Yoruba language,Hausa language etc they all producer under Nollywood and that is the reason for the phenomenal growth of Nollywood to the whole world. Honestly, nothing stops other actors from the African continent joining the Nollywood but this African mentality of rivalry, removes other non Nigerian actors from joining the Nollywood. Just consider this most lovable Cameroonian beauty Shaznay Okawa, she is a brilliant actress, loved immensely by Nigerians 90% Nigerians thought she is a Nigerian until she gave her biography. She made her name internationally in Nollywood. She lives in Nigeria. Hollywood is what made America and every actor from all over the world run to be a part of Hollywood. Nothing is wrong with that but Africans? No, they fight and ridicule one another. Nigerians love Ghanaians so much to the extent too many do not know they are not Nigerians until they began to introduce supremacy, who is best, who learn from who, who is is the originator etc causing their industry to collapse.

Let me explain the nigeria film industry for you...... Nigeria has two film industry....... known as Nollywood from southern nigeria which y'all know and kannywood from northern Nigeria.......due to different cultures...... southern nigeria are a bit westernised why northern Nigeria are islamised like the middle east or north Africa......In southern nigeria..... movies that has the likes of Destiny atiko and the rest are which yall watch on Gotv is called African magic or old Nollywood...... meanwhile the likes of funke Akindele, Ramsey noah, RMD which we all watch on streaming platform with high level qualities are known as Nollywood or the term New Nollywood.....these ones has genres like action,crime thriller just like what yall will in the developed world with high funding,stunts and all..... Nigeria movie industry has different bodies.....we have yoruba movie, igbo movie, asaba movie so destiny atiko can been seen in one of this meanwhile Nollywood is seen like the big brother of the industry..... where high level of world class talent are seen.....thats how nigeria movie industry is while the north categories there own as kannywood

To me, Yvonne nelson and Yvonne okoro don't look alike ,just that they share the same first name. Of course. Iynanya once dated Yvonne Nelson. Most of those popular Ghanaian movies that you're talking about are Nollywood movies but they made them in Ghana and used many Ghanaian actors and actresses and added few Nollywood actors and actresses in those movies. The Nollywood producers did that to EXPAND the Nollywood Movie Industry. The real Ghanaian movies are the local ones called Kumawood. Ghallywood collapsed after Nollywood producers stop producing and investing in the Ghana Ghallywood movies because of high Tax from the Ghana government. 80% of those popular Ghallywood movies from 2006 are Nollywood movies.

The problem with Ghanians is thst they think before jumping into things just because they re jealous and want to compare with Nigeria at all cost.
