Surrender - Week 2
Jan 12
In this season, God is guiding us on a transformative journey as a church. We are embarking on an eight-week exploration of 1 Peter 2:5, which speaks to our identity as "living stones" being built into a spiritual house. This verse will serve as the foundation for our teachings, as we delve deeper into its meaning and implications for our lives. As living stones, we are not just passive participants; we are alive and active, filled with the Holy Spirit, and called to be part of something greater than ourselves.
The concept of being a living stone emphasizes our role in the body of Christ. Just as bricks come together to form a house, we are called to unite as a community, building a spiritual house where God's presence dwells. This unity is not just about physical gathering but about being spiritually connected and committed to the mission of the church. Our individual lives, like individual temples, are meant to worship God, equip others, and reach the world. Yet, when we come together, there is a multiplication of power and purpose that cannot be achieved alone.
We are also called to be a holy priesthood, set apart for God's purposes. This means moving beyond a consumer mindset, where we expect to be served, to a servant mindset, where we seek to serve God and others. Our spiritual sacrifices, whether they be our time, resources, or acts of worship, should be valuable and heartfelt, reflecting our deep commitment to God. These sacrifices are not about earning God's favor but are expressions of our love and devotion to Him.
As we journey through this series, we will explore various spiritual sacrifices that please God. This process involves digging deep within ourselves to offer what is most precious to Him. It is a journey of surrender, where we allow God to work in our hearts, revealing areas that need healing, forgiveness, or trust. As we go low in humility and surrender, God elevates us to new spiritual heights.
**Key Takeaways:**
- **Living Stones and Spiritual House:** We are living stones, filled with the Holy Spirit, called to be part of a spiritual house. Our unity as a church multiplies our impact, much like how two can send ten thousand to flight. This collective strength is essential for fulfilling our mission. [10:00]
- **Holy Priesthood and Service:** As a holy priesthood, we are set apart to serve God and others. This requires a shift from a consumer mindset to one of service, where we ask God what He desires from us and offer our lives as spiritual sacrifices. [16:40]
- **Spiritual Sacrifices:** Our sacrifices should be valuable and heartfelt, reflecting our love for God. They are not about earning His favor but are expressions of our devotion. This involves digging deep within ourselves to offer what is most precious. [23:51]
- **Grace and Effort:** Grace is not opposed to effort but to earning. Our spiritual sacrifices are not for earning salvation but are responses to the grace we have received. This understanding helps us live out our faith authentically. [27:52]
- **Surrender and Elevation:** As we surrender to God's work in our lives, He elevates us to new spiritual heights. This journey involves allowing God to reveal and heal areas of our lives, leading to greater freedom and purpose. [35:12]

Jan 5th As we step into 2025, I am filled with anticipation and faith that this year will be our best yet, both as a church and individually. The foundation of this belief is rooted in putting God first in all aspects of our lives. Jeremiah 29:13 reminds us that when we seek God with all our hearts, we will find Him. This year, let us passionately pursue God and prioritize His kingdom and right...

This is an incredible message❤
Looks like we’re not streaming the worship anymore?😢
Sorry, that is correct. We are trying to get the audio quality a bit better before we stream the worship.
I wish I could have been there today. I love this church!
❤
I love Jesus ❤❤❤❤❤❤
How wonderful! Total confirmation for what He has been speaking to me. Thank you for sharing how God has healed your wounded heart. Grateful for your voice, Doris! Your strength in humility is powerful.🤍🤍🤍
Great message.......great testimony. Thank u Doris!
Ilove that song Yashua!
This service really resonated in my heart. I love this church! I love God! I love the song about "All my Life you have been faithful." It made my heart area tingle!
I attended the 2nd later service today. . The video shown between the songs of praise, and the pastor talking I had seen earlier this week I think on TH-cam. I can't find it now this Sunday Afternoon. I was overwhelmed to see that John Houston was actually going to speak at our church! During his talk I realized that I had already dreamed of him speaking at our church, but only then did I connect all the dots! How awesome is our God! I wish I had thought to get him to autograph his book. God does talk to us. We just need to keep our eyes and ears open and also to ask questions! God has so many answers for so many different situations and topics. In talking to God. don't be afraid to ask questions and then watch the magic happen when he chooses when and where HE answers them. Even down to the topic of living water! Thank you John Houston for the book and journal!
Loved the freedom video honoring our soldiers. We need to keep praying for them and the victims of human trafficking. GOD bless everyone!
Thank you for your comforting words. I don't go to church no Mother's Days. But your message really was a blessing to me. And a huge encouragement.
WOW! good message! Good goal of working on human trafficking! Wow I love this church! Wish it hadn't snowed or I would have been there.
I think I'll like this church! Weather permitting, I'll see you Sunday. Thanks for the invite.
Binge watching the messages. I LOVE CP. The Holy Spirit is alive and moving. Your community is genuine, authentic, so friendly, and welcoming. The body of the church is moving, seeking God's will, holding us accountable to BE in God's word. Daily. Who of us doesn't benefit f on a loving accountability partner, right? I send prayers of gratitude you are here in Buffalo. The real deal. Keep up the Good Fight.
Good morning!
Hello
Such a powerful message Tara!
Thanks Em!
What book is it? The BIBLE should be the authority on tithing. Tithing is an Old Testament Law, not for today. Tithing was used for a purpose that the church no longer implements. It was used to, LITERALLY, feed the orphans, widows, poor AND the EVANGELISTS. It was not for the purpose o f keeping a building open or for INCOME to a Pastor (only the prophet or evangelist). How would tithing be used for this purpose in today's church?
I hope all is well with you and your family. I find your view on tithing inaccurate as we see the principle of tithing before the law, during the law, and after. The book is called The Blessed Life by Robert Morris, which gives practical guidance to help people understand what the bible is saying, which is the ultimate authority always. If you would would read the book and like me to send it to you send me your address.
