Pre-arrival/PST Training video for Peace Corps Togo The pace of life changes for Americans shifting to the Togolese environment. This video gives a basic overview of what those changes are and how they look.
Cool! AKPE LO that appear in the end of the video. AKPE, mean thank. Thank you when addressing a person will be AKPE NAYO. To a group or more than one person, it will be AKPE NAMI AKPE LO, the LO added to AKPE is used to deepen the gratefulness manifested by AKPE, thank. It is used for many other expression. WEZON, welcome. WEZON LO to deepen the expression of welcome. MI is used to express a recognition of an elder. The equivalent of you as an expression of politeness toward the elder and you as casual expression.
This is so helpful to watch! I will be serving in the peace corps in Togo in June 2024 and videos like these really help give an idea of what life is like in Togo. Thanks for posting(:
Nice! (from Jim EPCV Nepal)
