I see You have some experience in OOP and a little bit of low level stuff👀 You've never asked for but here I'm with C++ advices: I believe You already know how much faster program is going with less memory allocations, so ill skip the point. You've used different ways to allocate memory in your program, but I personally recommend to choose one. Operator "new" will use malloc inside anyway + there are different ways for new and malloc/calloc to clear the allocated memory (procedure free() for malloc and delete or delete[] for new) Operator new (as malloc) doesn't process a memory deletion, so You have to do it manually. But there's a powerful memory management tool: std:shared_ptr. Search for it, NOW. Just joking You can write your own DynamicArray class, but you have to know you have STL classes such as std::vector so you can just use one. By the way, std::string works as vector >:] It's unnecessary to read the whole file and keeping it inside a current process memory. You have fileStream, You have a pointer in your fileStream, so set the ptr whatever you want, read some text in da buffer, and do your logic And finally classes... When your class uses memory allocation tools you definitely must declare a copy constructor, a move constructor, a distructor and operator= overloadings. Also it's a good thing to split the declarations from the actual realization to header and cpp file. this will save you from including unnecessary dependencies.
