Bad Lieutenant is some crazy ass shit.
Shelley's Operative Words reanimated a genre in a mirror of a murder poster - Florida Project is a moral compass for filmgoing and filmmaking at the same time - would love to see Sean Baker tackle historical southern gothic like the Beguiled
This guy is so cool. Great to see an American appreciate Naked (1993).
I agree. Roy for life
some overobvious blocking there
what?
@@pasjan1183 when he turns and faces 100% away from him, its super artificial/inorganic filmmaking. ppl wouldnt typically do something that extreme. feels cartoony
@@Kevlexiconyou’re totally right all filmmaking should be organic
@@thomasroose7338 its a visual equivalent of holding up a sign and sayin "this is the bad guy." the movie is kinda goofy, jus a wealthy old writer fantasy about banging his meta-sons gf basically 😭 boomer ideology
@@Kevlexicon have to disagree, feel it’s a touch more introspective than that. contemplating your role existentially, the passivity & action of being, the feeling of helplessness against a seemingly unstoppable force in a society that (against all warnings) seems to accelerate it. these are obvious themes but do sit above a cinematic exercise in disjointed incest.
youre as good as your influences...hes such a huge inspiration to me.
Now Ruben Östlund won the Palme d'Or
and now sean baker has!!!
*_FUCK_* Jeffers and his insipid cowardice. Trying to chalk up Earth's destruction to "God's will" is some of the most repulsive blame-shifting craven bullshit I've ever heard.
Why?
Michael was right that he was running a company more than a church
I'd really be curious to hear his opinions on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, DC, and the superhero craze in general.
Probably best to keep schtum rather than have a bunch of people hate you as your career's just getting started. Unless he likes those films, of course. Maybe he wants to direct Avengers 5!
He has a Letterboxd and always gives those positivo reviews. He likes them
He’s such a genius and is so nice on social media. Really love his whole aesthetic as a filmmaker
I think he understands boundaries better than most
@ Whatever that means
he's now one of my favorite directors working
I’m hyped to watch everything mentioned.
Can’t believe this dude is 50 lol (late 40s here). He looks 25.
holy shit this guy must be on Letos diet I thought he was early/mid 30s
He's got a good hair dresser (dye), makeup, teeth whitening etc but yeah 100%, Sean is killin' it at 50
@@daniellelearnsstuffHow do you know though? He probably just has good genetics
He looks 100 to me! 😂😂😂😂
How does one just know so much about film I am insanely inspired by this man
They are all classic films. Nothing out of the ordinary.
@@halukkilic3171 Yeah, Play, Involuntary, The Square, Import/Export, Force Majeure, The Idiots are all classic films. 🙄 What planet do you live on?
@@maryvallettakeith6146 those are definitely not some sort of deep cuts
@@Hovsep For the Average Joe, yes, they're very deep cuts. The Godfather is a deep cut to the TikTok generation. Few young adults nowadays watch films from before the eighties. But to film fans, obviously foreign classics such as those listed here are essentials.
@@Hovsep yea but they’re not classics
"that's pretty much it" YOU JUST SAID LIKE 20 DIFFERENT MOVIES!!!
After Criterion closet and Serevin cellar ... Sean Baker has THE best film taste.
Beautiful collaboration between sights and sounds displayed here. Humanizing.
