I didnt see street wraith on the websites listing? did you swap it with something else?
I’m also considering running additional doubling effects to roaming throne for maximum token generation, being parallel lives, doubling season, and primal vigor
Try grabbing Magosi, Karn's bastion, Nesting Grounds, and Deserted Temple.
Don’t sleep on Freed from the Real. That card is a powerhouse combo live in this deck
Oh wow yeah that's amazing in this deck!
The echo on your mic is unbearable
I keep Antient Cellarspawn in my deck, first of all because 3 mana 3/3 is good to have and if you have a card like One with the Multiverse or Omniscience in play, it begins to deal out massive amounts of targeted damage that can easily win you the game within a single turn.
Spot on to remove 3 lands. Loved the video! Glad we had similar ideas of what to take out and you've got some cool stuff you put in- Rug of Smothering is already underrated but this deck makes it crazy
I love decks that use a unique mechanic as the main gameplay and this one does not disappoint. I would like to build this deck, but the link to the decklist is not working however.
Thanks for the support and for pointing that out! The decklist should work now!
@@commandpower1987 It does. Thank you.
Harsh Mentor was an interesting cut. Lot's of cards id put before that. I didn't think about cutting lands, it makes sense since we don't need them all to much. This precon wasn't the worst, but also wasn't the best. I've swapped out 22 total cards. Focusing on protecting Valgavoth through bigger creatures and instants, then focused almost all my enchantments on dealing damage. One of my favorites in this deck that i added was shreoldred the apocalypse, Whispersilk cloak, deadly rollick, deflected swat, and defense grid. Since I'm focusing a lot of my instants and creatures to protect him, whispersilk cloak gives me that more aggressive push with him. I know thats some cash to drop, but it was first upgrades ever lmao. Anyways, fun deck. Big target at the table and always fun punishing people just playing the game.
I'm not the biggest fan of Harsh Mentor, might just be my meta though since I can certainly see him being good! And some very interesting inclusions there! Sheoldred is obviously amazing though probably out of most people's budget!
I had the same thought when I pulled this card. "Hm, what if.."
What about cynical loner etc to find Vigor and have it shuffled into your library, rinse & repeat?
I think cynical loner is quite weak without a lot of support to have her survive combat. But if you have the support then yeah she could be good!
Great video! I do want to ask about the braids inclusion since sacrifice isn't really the game here.
Yeah honestly I think it would be ok to remove her. She can draw us some cards and deal some damage but as you said doesn't really synergyze with the deck!
I’m not a big fan.. seems like a missed opportunity because this is essentially just another green deck with bears with a few utility white spells, red is completely underutilized. Especially on the enchantment and artifacts end, I would be all over synergy like Fires of Yavimaya/Anger/Genesis/Survival for haste and engine, and relentless assault to get multiple combat phases to smash for +6/+6 with Commander. And Words of Wilding, Slate of Ancestry and Grizzly Fate to produce an Army. I also think Vedalken Orrery and Winding Canyon is a must to flash in an army end of turn, it’s very important to only drop commander when you can maintain a board. I’d also like to see Sylvan Livrary and Goblin Bombardment as a sac outlet. Oracle is also insane being a 2/2. I would also play the recruiters since you’re running a deck of mostly 2/2 utility creatures, and Kiki would be insane too. Anyways with 3 colors you could do so much more creative shenanigans but settled for just vanilla bears, disappointing.
It's almost like different people build decks in different ways🫨
Reparations is a good add. Helps to miracle on opponents turn. Edit: Started building and ran across the land "Soldevi Excavations". I believe this card is a must if your leaning heavy into miracle mechanic (Thought I'd share)
I wish there was an attack trigger to exile top card, cast it third turn. Maybe as power creep goes up
why the immediate hate on boomers?
Everyone arguing here they should be allowed to counterfit 90% of their deck are toxic cheap people who should go find a new hobby. In no other collecting hobby is it ok to fake your collection. I think usinf a proxy of an expensive hard to replace card you own or testing something with the intention to buy is reasonable...maybe id go so far as saying it makes some sense for CEDH to keep costs down by having a deck cost cap where you can proxy an absurdly expensive thing here and there. But all these screw greedy wizards screw my local LGS people I fake all my cards types need to pound sand.
Precisely
Martinez Timothy Smith Donna Lee Richard
Lmao
Honestly, this should’ve been the face commander.
Agreed 100%
Excited to finally get Lara to the table in November. Ive certainly procrastinated long enough.
I tossed in Omniscience and Chrome Host Seedshark, the deck has a card similar to Seedshark, but it's got better synergy since it's an enchantment. The card might not be too bad though since the mana costs in this deck are generally very high, so you can pay 2 to get some really strong tokens out. I also added Blightcaster... I'm not sure if that'll be good or not but it's one of the only "whenever you play an enchantment" cards I had around.
I agree, Rendmaw is super fun... but maybe not the right title for a video on Valgavoth
Oh dear, nicely spotted! Thanks for bringing that to my attention😅
Been looking for some inspiration in building a new deck without going out to buy new cards and i think this is it. I just happen to break down my last 2 mono white decks so ill probably just use the cards from that for this
I used to agree with you on Deathreap ritual being too slow, but I built this deck and tested it yesterday against some friends, and I realized that it's a BEAST in thia deck. Since you're constantly making goaded birds that are constantly hitting on each other (and often some players will defend the other's bird with their own), and since Deathreap triggers on every player's end step, you'll often be drawing anything from 2 to 4 per turn cycle
The birds can never block one another right? Since they enter tapped and are always goaded
But yeah I agree that it's probably decent here
Damn, I really missed the fact that the birds enter tapped, ngl- But still, often you'll have someone with a flier or two that can block one of them, and in that case, its sure to bring some profit
I've built Hofri Ghostforge. With sacrifice outlets using ETB and die triggers. In my opinion not a typical Boros commander as well 🙂✌️
Nice Recommendation
The deserts should get more love too
Maybe add more protection for Rendmaw. He'll be 7 mana after being removed once. Perhaps some enchantments that give shroud like alpha authority, or some totem armor/hexproof auras.
Yeah you might be right. I feel like he won't draw too much hate but that might just be me😅
Ancient Cellarspawn is phenomenal in this deck, in my opinion. Combined with (Edit) One With the Multiverse, and you're doing some hardcore work with this. I really think you're underplaying how good a card it is.
I think it's an amazing card, but it is a little win more and the deck isn't really trying to chip damage. Still, you might be right that it might warrant testing.
@@commandpower1987it synergizes well with one with the multiverse demon of fates design and access maze. I had a game where I once did 20 damage in a turn just with ancient cellarspawns ability.
@@commandpower1987 I would agree with you if it didn't come out early and cheap. It strongly synergizes with the deck's gameplan, it's cheaper to cast than the commander, and serves as another cost reducer if you're including some/more of the fears.
That's true, it does have some decent synergy, might have counted it out too soon!
@commandpower1987 4:03 also shouldn't ancient cellar spawn synergize with the commander's miracle discount cost vs the mana value??????? You (should) consistently hit for 4 -5 if its a Demon/Horror/nightmare -6 if its an enchament in adition to above (and you have starfield mystic)
Change the Commander to Reaper King , its also a ScareCrow and you get access to 5 colors. Rendmaw is a super fun card.
I love Reaper King, but it'd very salt inducing haha
They are watching me... i've been brewing this for days.
They 100% listen in
How much would you change to make a nazgul version? With the 9 nazgul and some payoff cards for tempting (galadriel of lothlorien, smeagol, helpful guide, gandalf friend of the shire as examples) I feel like much wouldn't need to change.
Oooh that sounds like an awesome idea. It would require a bit of tweaking but sounds doable. If you need some inspiration my Sauron video is also grixis and could have some decent cards!
I'm surprised why do you not consider keeping mirrorade in it? it can be a very nice to double one of the very strong enchants and it has an insane potential with Extravagant Replication (begin of upK, make token copy of another target nonland perm you control), it'll allow you to pretty much go exponential if let unwatched
I think it's great but situational, and sadly we needed to make cuts
Deadly tempest and massacre worm are really good for extra damage, since you are giving your opponents extra creatures that is gonna deal them damage
True that!
really cool! def gonna build this!
62053 Little Knolls
7311 Hudson Points
Idk about relying on two or three effects that make everything pirates. I’d rather just have mainly pirates and and a few non pirates
Yep, that's the regular build. This one is a bit more out there😊
@@commandpower1987 I think it is still a good idea, because there are some really powerful non pirate synergies that I would love to fish out of my grave yard so I may include one or two of those cards
970 Laila Court
0674 Annetta Spring
One thing to note is that Ozolith (1 mana artifact) and Resourceful Defense (3 Mana White Enchantment) can act as way to save quest counters if, for some reason, people begin targeting the permanents that have quest counters on them.
Emeria Shepard + Sakura Tribe Elder is a great little ramp combo
This is good if you discard in opponent turn
Can bolt bend or deflecting swat change the target of spot removal back to the caster ?
yep absolutely as long as it's a legal target
so you don't have to put the lands down? you can just proliferate twice?
Correct
Feed the swarm is better
In no way shape or form🤣
@@commandpower1987 Yeeeaaah... agreed. I think it's fairly straightforward. I've had Feed the Swarm in my hand in situations where using it would hurt me more than help. Particularly once the creature or enchantment's mana value was higher than my life total, when it literally becomes useless. I don't entirely like Withering Torment. Imo it'll be the most powerful enchant removal in black by a pretty wide margin. Like, 3 mana plus a measly 2 health (wtf!?!?!?!) at instant speed to kill any enchantment... in black??? I've been using cards like Debt to the Kami and some of the beholder creatures (Ghastly Death Tyrant, Baleful Beholder) as well as artifacts- and of course, Feed the Swarm. Black/Rakdos/Grixis players have had to get creative to get rid of enchantments (not just return them to hand), we've had to make sacrifices in terms of mana and/or life to get them off the table. This feels... not quite black to me. Or maybe it's a case of too much too fast- there should have been one or two more cards transitioning from Feed the Swarm to this before they took such a big jump in power.
Yeah I agree entirely. It feels more serious a color pie break than the other black cards that have dealt with enchantments. Very little downside. It is undoubtedly the most powerful one so far!
It is a good effect but maybe for some specific decks. Its a Treefolk so its a good addition to that tribe but 7 mana its a lot. Maybe in a power matters deck could be a good include.
I did a similar Snail inspired deck with Susan Foreman and The Twelfth Doctor, leaning fully into the Temur Cascade hilarity. Some fantastic ideas I'll try to sneak in if I can from this video, Herald of Ilharg, and Gwenna especially got me interested 👀👀
My meme cascade commander deck commander: imoti celebrant of bounty Extra turns for more triggers plus being able to get ahead if behind or digging further if ahead. Card draw lots of it with cards like opt, learn from the past elixir of immortality I'm never decking out, big cmc spells with delve exiling unnecessary cards for more value, cascade creatures for funny value, one discard outlet to put cards i dont want into graveyard or reshuffle untap effects, two tutors and lastly evoke creatures. Then we add a jace "I win if I draw out" along with atherflux as well as weather the storm, mana reflection, imoniscience, zendikar resurgent, and three ways of copying imoti herself and two protection spells. I give you the most broken and most hated deck in mtg😂
Imoti is low key the most accidentally busted deck I ever built
