Superb tutorial - and I'm now up and running with my camera streaming to NINA! One minor change now needed: When you're generating the encryption keys, there's been a slight change in the windows command prompt in windows 11. Instead of "ssh-keygen" you now have to enter ssh-keygen -t rsa otherwise you get the wrong kind of encryption key. I miss Chad, and I hope he's alright 😕

hello I'm trying to learn Nina's Advanced Sequence, but I've seen that when I enter the Basic Sequence Target condition, even though I have the coordinate values, nina doesn't send the telescope to those coordinates, it only works if I enter the slew and center condition, but in this case there are no coordinate values and I have to enter all the data by hand, it seems to me to be standing, do you know how to solve it? Graces It seems strange to me that Nina does not make this important command, to create a completely automatic sequence

Chad, I will take it as a compliment from you that my movable mount is almost identical to yours! If you would like, I can send you a picture. My question is, you mentioned that you never level the mount with your equitorial mount but just do a polar alignment. Could you please explain that statement or recommend where I can go to learn more about your reasoning? I have been leveling the mount on the tripod once I position in on my lawn but if I don't have to, it would make it easier for me. Thank you for your very helpful videos. mj williams

Thank you a lot for your supportive videos . When I start this plugin it takes almost for ever. It start autofocus 5 minutes later and wait again for each focusing point/ measuring, take a 5 second shot and wait 5 minutes again. It takes me almost 1h for one filter for the first try. I guess this is not normal...any idea why this could happen?

Great video series. One problem: the WIndows installer from MeLe - despite setting the target as SSD - failed to install the new OS there. Hmmm. The progress of the installer seems to recognize the new 512 GB HDD, however no luck thus far. Second attempt underway. Are there any obvious items to check?

Thank you for the very helpful guide. I'm def a better visual/tactile learner than by reading an installation page. I do have a few more questions tho (if you have time) -- b/c I already have a few Pi-HQ cams around w/ a 220 degree and a 180 degree lens for them. Idk if 12MP Pi-HQ would look better than a 2-5MP ZWO, which can easily range $200+) - Pi-HQ cam vs ZWO (is one far superior to the other? Even if the ZWO is only 2-5MP) - Is it worth using a Pi5 if I can? (or would the benefit be negligible) - Have you tried a passive cooling case? Any better/worse? - Will leaving it permanently mounted in the sunlight eventually damage the camera's sensor? - Do you add any outside air pathways for the airflow to circulate (maybe w/ a baffle to avoid water getting in)

Hi Chad, I hope things are going well for you. I'm pretty sure your TH-cam 'follower' hordes are missing you a lot. On the off chance you still get notices of postings here, I hope you'll indulge a belated question from a new NINA user relating to the Remote Copy Plugging. I just wondered what differentiates Remote Copy from simply selecting your Google Drive (or any other location that shows up as a choice) as the place where NINA places your images as they are captured. I'm pretty sure I must be missing something or the Remote Copy Plugging would not have been developed. It just seems like NINA already allows you to have your captured images placed wherever your imaging computer has access. Best Wishes...Gary

There is one use case, that breaks with a self build battery. If your setup is for travel and you travel by plane, you are limited to 2 x 100Wh you can take with you on a plane. So the self build battery is much too big, but if you travel with another person, you can take 4 x 100wh 12V Powerbanks with you in cabine.

fantastic video and what an awesome build! I had a naive 101 question just out curiosity: you went with a DPDT switch....can we use a SPDT switch instead to flip the circuit from charging mode to use mode? The issue here is there is constant load (no true off), but does it matter when the charger is not connected (in which case it will be truly off)?

I realize this post is some time after the vid was released. I have a new pi 5. Is the red led supposed to stay on where there is power? I'm using the ac plugin with USB c. The USB c connection to the pi is lousy. It doesn't take much to come loose. However when I power up, the red light comes on, then goes off. The green light does flash and then stays on steady. I can ping the IP address of the device as shown in my home wifi router app. I cannot ping the hostname, which is default...I cannot successfully run putty or run the ssh command either. Do I have a faulty pi?

Love your video. Unfortunately All Sky hasn't kept up with camera releases. Some of the new ZWO all sky cameras (676) aren't supported and even though the issue has been reported as long ago as May nothing has been done. An alternative is INDI-Allsky which installs very similarly. In fact only a couple of changes to commands will install that software which handles these newer devices much easier. Again, your video series is great and helped me considerably understanding how to use the Pi and communications with my PC.

Hi, I have a Beelink mini PC and followed your video on getting my mini PC to create its own Hotspot and then connecting to it with my laptop using REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION. I have had this working at home with no problem, I then took my laptop and mini PC to another friend’s house where I did not have a connection to their internet to confirm I could still connect remotely to the Mini Pc Hotspot, all worked fine. This weekend I went away camping to a darker site than my home armed with my now tested mini PC, set everything up switched on the mini PC and then connected my laptop with Remote Desktop only to find the connection kept dropping and then reconnecting every 30 secs to a minute not even enough time to view Nina setting up. whilst I can follow technical instructions and understand when things are explained I am not very good at understanding some of the issues with IT until they are explained to me. your help and knowledge would be gratefully received.
