"There's a struggle for young men to articulate actual pain"... what a poignant quote from Paul.
You're.not even a man ...Neve mind running 😮😮😮😮😅😅😅😅 go running 😮😮😢😢😢😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
The shadows people in the background was annoying as ****!
I was greatly moved by Strangers, and have rewatched it several times. All four performances were authentic, every emotion was genuine. But, try as I might, I cannot make sense of the ending. The trajectory of the film - it was easy to make a leap of faith about Adam’s parents when the actors are wholly believable - was that Adam would have to disconnect from his parents in order to progress in life, specifically with Harry. And then to have the rug pulled out from under one. And when they disappear in a starburst; is that a Tristan und Isolde moment, where their souls will merge in death? I simply didn’t comprehend it.
There are various theories on reddit, if you're interested, but in my interpretation the ending scene is just Adam saying thank you and good bye to Harry. And the song which is playing in the beginning and in the ending rounds up the story perfectly. So this is indeed a positive ending, because he was able to confront his past in order to move forward. Maybe I'm too naive, but that's how I made sense of it. PS. There are hints throughout the whole film regarding the ending, but it took me a few viewings to notice them. And I know that it's a ghost story originally, but it works much better if I don't take everything I see in it literally.
@ Some films just don’t wrap things up in a neat bow, so I guess this is another one that’s open to interpretation. The movie “Doubt” is another one. People often argue whether the priest was guilty or not. I didn’t think that was the point of the film at all. For me, the point was that the Mother Superior had completely broken with the Church in her pursuit of the priest. By the end, she doubted whether she even believed in the Church anymore. And, yes, I thought he was guilty, without question.
Yes, I couldn't have said it better myself! And that's the kind of film I like the most, where you're not spoon fed everything.
Oh, this conversation was a breath of fresh air, thank you!
loved the dude filming for his son lol
Cheese is better than shit 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
So far the most amazing interview!
loved this interview - i love geeking out on creative process
orlando absolutely changed my brain when i watched it. so so cool to hear right from tilda what it was like to make it!
23:30 😂
I like Edgar in total black 🖤 and Simon total white 🤍 and still best friends.
Odd stuttering as they're talking about the UK's role in Ireland...Hmmmm....
they have to filter for the babies
@diagorasofmel0s indeed 'they' do. 😉😂😎 Tiocfaidh ár lá Faigh na Brits amoch anois! ✊🏼❤️🇮🇪🇵🇸❤️✊🏼
i have a picture of this on my wall
I have to disagree that one can use their own accent to play any part. Sure you can use your own accent but it can ruin the presentation of that character for the audience. An actor playing Gengus Kahn cant have a British or Irish accent. An actor playing a Mohawk Indian during the early days of settlements in the colonies cant have a Chinese, Irish or Jewish accent.
One of the first dvds I had that was a dodgy copy. Going to watch it for the 20th view cos I was only 9 when it came out so would love to support and see it on the big screen. Great insight an chilled talk
That's me with the beer belly there
You're sick 😂 🤙
@lilgarbage2252 why Thank-you, my psychiatrist concurs

Simon Pegg's really entered his middle-aged rockstar phase
just gonna say the three seconds from 4:13 to 4:16 has marriage proposal vibes
But Andrew looks uncomfortable, I do think Paul is straight person he just love him as a friend
@@RMohammed90-n2n yes, for someone shy like Andrew, being loved that much (by Paul and more broadly), so visibly, with such high praise constantly heaped upon him, and all in public no less, it can be rather awkward; but I trust Andrew Scott to know his own boundaries better than any of us internet spectators. These two are so warm together so often enough I can't imagine there to be any issues.
I’ve gotten the feeling from interviews, as well as the choice of roles, that neither Paul or Andrew will submit to being restrained from their feelings and emotions. That is, restrained by the guidelines of Hollywood or any social/cultural restrictions. It’s clear that Paul is straight and Andrew is gay, but they won’t be straightjacketed into conformity. And that’s very refreshing. It’s too bad that most Hollywood actors and professional athletes must conform to unwritten social rules.
Breaking the Fourth wall in film exists since 1918. It has been used in comedy tones of times, as somebody said in this thread, in Ferrys, that movie is Hollywood 100% blockbuster and it was done before Orlando. I love Orlando but i find quite ignorant the comment on being the first… in what world?
I guess they are not aware of the existence of Jean Luc Godard. Pierrot le Fou, 1965. Breaking the fourth wall th-cam.com/video/9roYGIWyHsE/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

Cate I LOVE YOU ❤ so much
😛
Good observation about great actors just using their own accent ..but rhe ones that can are always believable ... I loved this interview 🎉
I like when the actors appreciate the director or film but sometimes this praising goes on a bit too long like "ooo we were ALL so blessed to have this opportunity"
That music in the background is really distracting and annoying
0:45 *me to literally anyone who'll listen*
She looks washed up, horrible hair here...and those glasses

Some interesting questions from the audience.
Not your usual stuff.
