I love (almost) everything that has to do with Linux and data!
My top skills are:
- Linux (Debian, Fedora, Redhat, Bash, security)
- Databases (PostgreSQL)
- Cloud (Google Cloud Platform)
- Software development (Java)
- Data integration (Talend)
I have been using these technologies in various projects since 2010 and pass on my knowledge in training courses and workshops.

Is it possible to create a database that feeds from a flashdisk/external storage? Like anytime i want to use the database i have to have the external hard disk with me
Yes. There are special databases for this, such as sqlite or h2 database
Thanks man
hi I created some jobs and built them to run on scheduler, my security IT guy says there is log4j which is vulnerable.. is it something I need to take care?
In the job to deploy you can change the lib/log4j*.jar used
@@SamuelLenk thanks alot of replying, One last question..I tried changing it and doesn't work. I downloaded log4j23.3.jar(api,core) but doesn't work. Do we have to modify the something else as well?

You might like a black background, but that was an immediate unsell. I was trying to convince someone to switch to Linux Mint as I have

¿Do you know how to disable the Metadata Search?, every time I am working with a Query Dbeaver is searching for metadata

Mr. Lenk, I got a big problem: I donwloaded Talend 7.1.1 (my colleague sent me It), and when I click It, this error appears: "executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library". I have 3 differents JDK in my PC, what could be the matter? What should I do? Thank you so much for your answer
You can provide the JVM path in the ini-file that exists for your executable. See details here: wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse.ini
Thank You!
Running flawlessly, thanks!
tysm (especially after talend open studio is no longer available on sourceforge, Google Drive link was useful)
Can I have the Google Drive Link please?
@@gillesngangue4709 you can find the link on the video description (Talend : link)
can you please share google drive link

Have you use the correct executable? In case of errors you find log under [STUDIO_FOLDER]/workspace/.metadata/.log
Hello, wanted to know if you still have the file to Talend Open studio, I cannot find it on sourceforge anymore please help me out I need it to complete my lab!!
You can get it here: bit.ly/42yY4Dy
Thank you ❤
Hello! Samuel, since Talend will discontinue it's Open Studio updates from 31st Jan 2024 do you recommend us to learn Talend Open Studio or should we look for some other Open Source ETL tools ?
It is still worth it (-; After that date it wont just disappear, but rather need a transition from existing solutions
@@SamuelLenk can we still use Talend Open studio for our on premise data ETL workloads as a cost effective (i.e. for free) solution? Matter of fact, that's one of our main motivation of learning Talend open studio
Absolutely!
I could not install it on ma mac mini with M2
I don't have a Mac so I can't help. But you can try this official installation guide for Mac: help.talend.com/r/en-US/8.0/open-studio-installation-guide-mac/install-studio-using-dmg-image Or you can download it from talend.com and install it: www.talend.com/lp/open-studio-for-data-integration/
its posible write a complex query with joins/leftjoins and subquerys from an unic source? (i mean withouth create an object from each table)

How to specify sqlldr path in the .sh file on building the Talend job? I get an error that couldn't find sqlldr when I execute the job

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc' what(): std::bad_alloc
What exactly are you trying to do when this happens?
thx
does the talend job have to run on the DB Server for bulk load to work?
From Talend Help : This file can be on the same machine as the database server resides or on another machine. If the file is on the same machine as the database server resides, fill the path to the file in the form prompted in the field; if the file is on another machine, fill the universal naming convention (UNC) name (that is, \\{Servername}\{Sharename}\{Path}\{Filename}) of the file in this field. In the second case, you need to have the permission to read the file. See Bulk importing to SQL Server from a remote data file for related information.
Thanks for you video, helped me a lot ! An exemple of tGooglDriveGet would have been good too because it seems particular to specify a file Thanks again !
Thanks for letting me know & will keep that in mind for future videos
excellent video, thank you !
ALMOST ALL distros have a LIVE ENVIRONMENT so they can TESTED and used a bit first---- I've distro-hopped for several years and tried almost all I have heard about and only found one or two that do NOT have a live environment...
Hi can i install in windows 32 bit Laptop ? and if not possible then In Linux is support for Talend.
32 bit may work, but better if you go for Linux
@@SamuelLenk Is Linux doesn't have difference like 32 bit / 64 bit ?
@venkatasubbareddy reddy only 64 bit executables are available, no matter if you use Linux or Windows. I have used Talend on Linux for many years without any problem
Please upload a video on how to install talend on mac m1 it will be useful for so many followers of u

amazing. super fast quick tutorial
thank you for your awesome efforts, 😍 but iam facing a problem when Iam trying to connect SQLite to talent, I followed this video but when testing the connection it opened a pop-up window "the file is invalid or doesn't exist".
Make sure you select the Filepath to the SQLite database file in tSQLiteInput component basic settings
@@SamuelLenk it works with files with the extension "file.sqlite" but files like "file.db" doesn't work.
