On Any Random Day
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 ม.ค. 2023
There are TONS of video blogs out there on folks riding bikes and talking... I am another one of those :)
On any random day got its name because I can and will post on, well, any random day. My life is kept busy with work and family, but I love to get out and ride and I want to share some of the gorgeous scenery around where I live and ride and chat about my bike (2023 Honda XR650L & 2023 Honda CRF300L - Previously 2018 Honda CRF 250L, 2022 KLX30 Dual Sport, 2023 Suzuki DR-Z400 S and SM).
Disclaimer: Please - ALWAYS wear the appropriate safety gear!!! Motorcycles are dangerous, and accidents are called accidents because... well, they happen by accident! Every time I get on my bike, I have all my gear - Helmet, Jacket, Gloves, Pants, Boots.. and the jacket / pants have elbow/knee/back protection in them.
Any riding tips and mechanical tips are what I have found useful and accurate myself. ALWAYS double check and verify if they are useful and accurate for you or your bike.

Riding the DR - Some of my favorite spots and experimenting with 'action' cam views....
I wanted to try and put some 'action cam' views in my videos, so I needed to give it a try. This video is some of my footage while on my DR and playing around with setting up shots and that sort of thing. I have to admit, while I love watching ActionCam style shots, when I am creating them it feels 'rehearsed' and that I am cheating you out of a genuine organic ride view...

Slow and sedate run through Wolverine Creek on a '24 DR650. The DR is basically stock except for handlebars, hand guards, and Pirelli MT21 Rallycross tires front / rear (Because the Deathwings TRULY live up to their name!!)
Beer Run - Into Harriman State Park the back way

A quick video to show the trail known as 'Beer Run' in the On X Off road application. Its an easy ride (most of the time, rain can change that!) and it is quite scenic and run, and takes you through some gorgeous area's.

CRF300L Michelin Enduro Tires - First Impressions and fun ride

I put Michelin Enduro Tires on my XR650L and they were not a good fit... took them off and then plopped them on the 300L. This is the 'first ride/impressions' of them, and in general a nice ride around the Midwestern Desert type area's east of Rexburg ID......
2023 XR650L Yoshi RS 2 Slip On, Before and After

The year is 1992... Honda just put forth its newest and biggest dual-sport: the Honda XR650L. This motorcycle is so beloved and well received by the public that Honda has just kept it going and going and going!!! Flash forward to January 2024, I realized that 2023 was the 30th anniversary of the XR650L (Yes, I evidently live in a bubble!!!) and of course I wanted one... a few days later I got o...

Install of the JD Jet Kit and Yoshi RS-2 along with a 3x3 mod... most of the video is in 4x to avoid the monotony of a lengthy vid, so you get my duck talking voice in places :)
Saturday Relaxing Ride in Kelly Canyon Area
มุมมอง 30ปีที่แล้ว
A nice relaxing ride on Saturday Sept 9 heading up into Kelly Canyon and the surrounding area.... This is a LONG video with (at times) sketchy sound quality (Sorry, Amazon Mic....), but the main point was to show you the beautiful area where I get to walk and ride all the time.... I hope you enjoy the scenery as much as I and that it perhaps spurs you to visit Idaho!!!!

DRZ400... Thoughts on its weight compared to your new 650L... Hear Suzuki my be discontinuing it.. 🫤😢
Enjoy that sweet rig! I'll never Not have one in my garage. They'll have to put it next to me at the rest home...😂 🙃
nice!! Tobad the exhuasts are 1/5 the price of thr whole bike😢
I have an RS2 on my 23 XR650L. it's pretty dang loud. Nice to know you're being heard in traffic.
im pickup in a xr650l soon. always wanted a yoshi exhaust and now i want one even more, damn that sounds sick. you seem like a really chill dude
TY!!
Man, that is some nice scenery.
What model pipe did u get iam thinking about getting a xr 650 myself
Here is a link to the exact model I put on. I purchased it via Revzilla.com. www.yoshimura-rd.com/collections/all/products/honda-xr650l-exhaust-system-2235703
Between the xr650l, dr650 & drz400 how would you compare them to each other, which puts the biggest smile on your face and which would you choose if you had to pick 1 bike??
Great Question. The DRZ400S is a fantastic bike, and does amazing off road.... Same with the XR650L, and it does pretty good on road as well... But, if I had to pick ONE, I would go with the DR650. It does really well on road, and it does really well off road as well - Once you change the tires (Factory Bridgestone Trailwings are HORRIBLE). To me, the DR is a great 'Dual Sport', while the XR and DR-Z have a more 'off road' emphasis.... Very soon, I will be doing a video comparing my '24 DR650S to my '23 XR650L for On Road, Off Road, and Dual Sport riding :)
@@OnAnyRandomDay thanks for the reply, I will stay tuned for the future video…I currently have a dr650 but considering getting the xr650l, by brother used to have one and I really enjoyed riding it. Maybe I should switch out the stock tires before I make that decision. Main reason I got the dr is because it’s better for my height at 5’7
@@Itsjake908 I am 5'8" myself, and I did try a Devol 1" lowering link on the rear, a 1" lower seat, and dropping the forks down by 3/4". It definitly helps make the XR feel more comfortable!!! That might work for you as well?
@@OnAnyRandomDay yes I may have to do that if I get the xr. Just debating if I’m ready to let the dr go:( I’ll stay tuned on your upcoming video comparison
You should make a Video about your crf, it looks great 👍
TY! I will get that in the works!
Are those the Michelin Trackers?
They are the Michelin Enduro - Medium. The rear wears fairly quick as I do ride on pavement alot, but the traction is amazing, especially on the front!
That Graves is loud eh? Well built, good performer, but too loud for my liking.
Looks like a lot of fun. As someone in the rural Vermont area it's nice seeing some places I haven't been. Dirt roads are beautiful everywhere. Enjoy your rides! Love the bike.
TY
Great riding you were hauling out there and your bike sounds amazing. Keep up the good content! I have a 300l too and I’m debating between the graves and yoshi.
TY! As to the Graves vs Yoshi, I put Yoshi on pretty much all my bikes as I am a huge fan, but on the 300 I REALLY liked the sound of the graves and the blue is such a nice contrast in looks. So far, I am not dissappointed.
I put it on my 2024 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Nice!! How do you like the sound? I really enjoy the sound it gives mine!!
Did you use a new pipe sleeve gasket? Or does the yoshi kit come with that?
@@nsricher1 It does not use/require one.
Good video! Thank you for sharing! In addition to seeing the nice new trails to ride, I also enjoyed seeing the baby cows!
I am glad you enjoyed it!!
Silly question but what did you use for a license plate holder. Ive removed the stock one but having my plate laying down on the fender will likely get me pulled over where I live.
The bracket I used was left over from my '23 DR-Z400S when I did it's tail tidy. I needed to re-drill the mounting holes for the XR, but fit quite well and (I think...) it looks pretty good.
What exhaust is on the 300L and is that a red swingarm?
Graves exhaust
The swingarm has the Acerbis Swingarm Guards on it, they come in red or black. the Exhaust is a Graves Exhaust available in blue or stainless.
good and very interesting video.... greetings from me, a beginner....
@16:50 that’s hilarious! Tell em what it is !
Beautiful bike 🔥
TY!!
love it congrats on your brp we love ours !!! we love or 22 SM also ;-) enjoy it and #livetoride . go get a bigger tank clark/ims 4 gal is a 10 min job the 5.8 was a pain in the ass but i like it better then the 4 gal i had on my old girl
Sweet getting xr650l myself
First time ever someone put a Yoshimura slip on a xr650L damn that’s 🔥 wicked 😀
Looks/sounds good!
Does this add any performance value to the bike, or is it just a visual/sound upgrade? I’ve been interested in this particular bike, a little more affordable than some of the other dual sport options. How long have you been riding it, pretty happy with it?
VERY happy with it. I bought it new, and while it was a great bike right out of the box, I felt it could be better. After a slip-on, Foam Air Filter, De-Snorkel, and rejet it REALLY improved the overall performance and I feel that it is perfect for me now. While the slip on itself does at a little bit of oomph to the bike, it really does need a rejet before it 'wakes up'... combine those with a foam air filter and de-snorkel and the power/torque/throttle response is improved at all RPMs. Now with all that said, there is ONE main draw back to the XR650L... It is a heavy bike. MUCH lighter than the KLR and still lighter than the DR (its main competitors), but you are still riding a 340lb motorcycle... The big advantages to the XR is that it has the most suspension travel of the three, and also the most ground clearance. It is basically a big air cooled dirt bike that honda woke up one morning and said "Hey, lets put lights on it and make it street leagal" :)
what jet sizes did you go with
@@DaveGencay 158 main, 2 needle shims, 52 pilot, 2.6 turns on the needle
@@DaveGencay you should go with a jet kit and tune it to your altitude. Not everywhere is going to be the same.
I bought one 4 weeks ago. I was 36 when they started making these things. Bought it brand new in southern Illinois for $5999 Love it
congrats !!! we love our girl

Hard to believe there the same from 93 until now
People neglect the CRF and KLX 250's now cuz the 300cc versions are out. But with the stage 1 power mods done they have around the same hp as the stock 300cc models and more low end torque not being restricted. U can find them used with hardly any miles for $4k also. My KLX250 with Yoshi, EJK, Air Box completely opened has so much low end grunt that I went up a tooth in countershaft cuz I cant even stall the bike in second gear. I put a AL sprocket, non o ring chain and 100-100-18 Kenda on the rear and that shaved almost 5 lb's all off the crank, could feel that extra pull too. I also have a DRZ400E that has one hell of a motor but I find myself riding the KLX more cuz its just more refined with EFI, super smooth controls and great mpg. I see u got the KLX300 in the garage, wondering what u think of the two bikes compared?
I love my KLX300. Its a very capable bike, but needs a gearing changer to really handle trails without having to slip the clutch alot or stay in 1st gear. I changed mine over to a 13/42, and it really made a huge difference in how it rode on trails off road. If the aftermarket was as good as for the CRF, it would be fantastic!!! But, because the aftermarket for the CRF is so populated, it was really very easy to change my CRF over to the perfect bike for me. Right now, its a bit better than the KLX off road. The biggest difference between the CRF and KLX that I notice though, its the CRF feels "top heavy", while the KLX does not...
