@@synthof Well I was inspired to have another go after our conversation. It is a really tricky sequence. I used U-he Repro 1 for my effort. I’ve seen a couple of ‘covers’ of this song on the internet but they seem to be largely re-constructed from original Depeche Multi-tracks and samples from the original track. I used a colander and a kitchen knife for that scrapy/metallic sound 🙃

@dek1014 Yes I noticed you mentioned using Uhe Repro, and it sounds very good ,I mean when thinking especlaily that we dont have any clue about the original source of this sound ,you did a great job, including the kithcen samples, cheers!!😎🍺

I was about to write a comment, but I won't do it, because you did it in my place. I mean I totally agree with you.

Mainly software, Arturia V Collection gives you a huge collection of classic synth emulations. Good value for the money. I also love the U-he Repro 1 (probably my favourite soft synth. It's easy to use and great sound quality. Also have a couple of hardware synths - Jupiter 80, Jupiter X and Mininova. I don't really have a lot of room for a lot of hardware. I see you are a very talented pianist yourself (most impressive) 😎

Hey reggiekowalski... Thanks for taking the time to listen and to comment. The simple answer to your question about chord structuring is... I don't really have much idea about music theory or any concept of what chord is what. I play everything by ear and play what 'I think' I hear. I like to think my covers are somewhat close to the originals. However, if I do end up playing different chords, it's just down to the way I'm hearing them. I was in band for a number of years with a very loud drummer, that may have something to do with it LOL

Not sure when Photographic was written but, to my knowledge, the first recorded version of Photographic appeared on the Some Bizarre Compilation Album and was recorded late 1980. 'It's written On your Body' entered the UK chart 31st May 1980
