Hi, I am the son of Mel Swain on my Dad’s sand dragster #700 yellow & black w/ the😢” Donovan” engine, that raced there a couple times around 1978 +/- at Riverside Race Track around this time, you wouldn’t happen to have footage of my Dad’s car would you??
Greg T do you recall if this was a USA (united sand association) race?
This is right behind my brothers house. I used to spend many hours watching. You could hear when they fired up from the house. Great memories!
Ahhhhhh... The "Good Ole Days"!!!..... when drag racing was still "fun" and a Chevy Crew Cab Dually with a "sleeper box" meant you were in the "big time" of drag racing, whether it was Sand or Asphalt. And now all that sand is under concrete, wood, bricks and mortar..... what a shame. Sure was fun while it lasted, though. ; )
Do you have any videos of the dannell brothers
I saw Butch Blair and the fugowie top fuel dragster at Steele AL in 95
