Welcome to the channel!
I am a kayak fisherman based in Western PA, and I absolutely love it. I always fish for bass, but I'll take anything I can get out there, you never know what's going to hit your lure!
I mostly don't do intro's. I mostly don't teach anything. I mostly just fish. 🙂

April 2024
Welcome back!
April!
The fish woke up for real . Some excellent days out there on the water just chucking and winding. This video is 3 separate days, 2 on Lake Arthur and one later in April on Keystone Lake (Keystone Power Dam).
I sure do love spring.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been updating as often as before, but I decided to relax a bit this season and wait till things died down to give myself something to do when its cold out. Well guess what, it's getting cold! Season 5 is going to be a little different. Less episodes because I filmed less, but they might be quite a bit longer as I'll try to fit maybe a whole months fishing into one v...
Merry Thiccmas!

Well, the weather has finally turned cold enough where it's time to store everything for next year. I'm gonna miss being out on the water, and can't wait till next season begins. See you in season 5! Or in a clip episode when I get cabin fever! Follow me on Instagram for other fishing stuff: hawkfishingoutdoors

I would have liked to stay a bit longer, but cold wind and rain make me a sad man.
Hell of a day.

A long hot day @ Quemahoning Reservoir, we saw hundreds and hundreds of fish in schools, but alas, hardly any were interested in eating. Still a cool lake!

Shame on you for posting this video on a 28 degree windy Dec. morning. Don't you know what you are doing to your fellow bass fisherman. "PURE TORTURE"! Besides, you need to stop fishing Lake Arthur. Did you not know that it is also referred to as "The Dead Sea". Fun (but painful) video to watch. Looking forward to your next one.
😂Sorry Ken! I figured editing these in the winter would give me something to do. Back in the day that's when all the best fishing shows came on and it was torture then too! I'm just trying to bring you back! lol.
Heck of a day on the lake. Remember what the water temp was?
Actually yes! 4/15 - 58-63 4/18 - 63-64
Wondered where you went. Welcome back!
Thanks! more vids coming!
HES BACKKKKKKKKK
YOU KNOOOOOW
That was a wicked backlash!
One of my finest.
Welcome back, glad to see a new video from you out on Lake Arthur and North Park Lake. We are lucky with the amount of fishable water in our back yards. I'm from the South Hills and can hit numerous bodies of water with my kayak within an hours drive. Congrats on that birds nest you had. If you would have gotten that on the Mon you may have had our resident bald eagles take it over for their new nesting site.
I'm also a South Hills guy 👍There's just enough water around to keep me busy thats for sure. 🤣 Yeah I think they wouldve been proud to nest in that.
Nice fish! Big ol' chunkers.
Just how I like em. 👍
The allegheny just has too little float access. Franklin to Fisherman's Cove is the most obvious and convenient to float and it gets HAMMERED with kayakers. Who know if maybe someday we can get a more closely spaced access above Oil City instead of the 13 mile hump from President.
Hey Drew, nice meeting you at 528 launch 8/15/24. Can't compete with your set up, but not complaining. Would like to see more current content. Keep up the good work 👍. Now subbed. Greg.
Nice to meet you Greg! I'm getting around to making the 2024 content here eventually. Might be releasing it during the winter so I have something to do while it sucks outside. See you out on the lake!
Too much fishing pressure these days. I think that TH-cam plus Covid caused all of the extra pressure. I used to catch way more quality 15-20” bass there.
Agreed. Last time I went there was in 2023, all we could get was 8-10in bass.
Where did you go?
Still around! I have a bunch of video just sitting around waiting to be edited. Might get around to it this winter but I've been busy!
Catch any good ones this summer?
@@dalbert4991 A few! Got some nice fish up in Canada, and took a trip to the finger lakes region where I got my first tiger muskie.
I'll be there tomorrow morning. Probably peddle to grandpa and granmas coves and try some top water baits.
How'd you do? Last time I was there it was almost too windy to fish!
What area of the lake was this ? I’m heading there this week.
Sorry to miss your comment, this was right near Bolton and the islands east of it across the lake. Hope you did well!
You gotta wait on those top water bites. I know… It’s hard. Make sure they have it, and then grip it and rip it.
What type and size kayak do you prefer on pymatuning? I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the size of kayak relative to the size and conditions of a lake like pymatuning
I think a longer kayak is probably nicer in general, especially for bigger water that can get rough. I have a Slayer Max 10 because I can lift it and get it around behind my house, but I'd probably go for a 12ft kayak if I was in any other situation. So, you can absolutely do it in a shorter kayak, but you'd probably enjoy it more on a longer one.
I live in central Ohio and have never been to Presque. I hear April and May is the time to go, any advice? I have a Bass Tracker 165 with just a 9.9 on the back, I hear misery bay stays pretty calm?
Yo! That is absolutely the time to go. You'd be plenty safe in and around Misery Bay with a small boat, since it's pretty shallow. If the wind isn't bad, a bit south of that there are plenty of rock piles scattered around in 10-14ft, find em and keep throwing stuff at them, youll def get smashed!
Merry Christmas brother. I'm heading to Florida the first of the year here. Going to set my RV up right next to Roland Martin. I'm so lucky. I haven't met him yet but he is staying at a private campground that I stayed at last year. Best bass lake in the United States Stick Marsh and headwaters lake. Is the headwaters of the St John's River. You can Google his site it's called what's happening Roland. He has a site he updates weekly. He uses the camp as a base for his guide service
That's fantastic! Roland is one of the all time greats! I'd love to fish with the guy! Hope you have a great time in Florida and tell Roland I said hello! 🎄🐟
Merry Christmas!

Wow, you found their hide out eh!! What was the water temp?
I believe that day was in the 58-60 range but it was dropping pretty quickly. It's always fun to find a few stacked up!
I always enjoy your videos from Lake Arthur. I give you credit for sticking it out, my teeth were chattering just thinking about being out on a day like that. FYI, I came across a map that I forgot I had. It was published in Sept. 1970 through the state. Not only is it a true topo map of Lake Arthur and the surrounding area. It also shows every creek bed and every road bed. I will be spending the off season plotting next years prime locations. Have a Great Holiday Season! Thanks again for sharing your videos.
Nice find! I started by looking at the map they have on the state website. Let me know if you ever do find them out deeper, and thanks for watching!
Great way to end the season, beautiful fish, nice muskie follow up! I liked the music, was expecting some silent movie police to chase you in their kayak, haha, great job!
I have at least one muskie encounter per season, one of these days it's gonna finally happen! The music is from TMNT2:The Arcade Game for NES 🤘, a classic!
That was a good day! See you next year
Gotta get back on the boat next year!
Good year there Drew!, definitely finished your season better than I did
Rick! Hope to see you on the lake next year. It was a great season - thinking about making a clip episode about it!
From the "dead sea" too.Nice.
I promise theres tons of fish in there! 😂
Never have the audacity to get on the rivers dahntahn. How deep did that stretch you were on get?
Between the south side launch and the 10th st bridge it's a max of maybe 18 feet? By the bridge pilings it's prob 6-8ft or so. The river isn't too bad for fishing, but when it gets busy I just don't want to be there, lol.
(Got me there -- thought for sure another word was coming between "bitty" and "committee" haha.) Great job with the smallies and walleye! Great to see the numbers in local water... a spotted bass even!
🤣 There's bigger ones in there, I'm sure of it! I'll find them one of these days.
Walleye has a white tip on the bottom of tail. You Sir caught a walleye!
Thank you, that's useful info!
Nice. I am going to have to start using a panfish rod or something to make our tiny pittsburgh bass more fun
Time to bust out the spiderman/barbie rods!

Urban bassin!

NICE video N'at !
🥟- a pierogi for your comment sir.
Good day!
a slow day for you would be a great day for me at Lake Arthur!
Overall it was a great day, I just had to fish slowly to get em. 👍
Thank you for the content I'm not able to get out right now too much work.
Yo I hear you! The weather hasn't been particularly cooperative either! Hope you are able to get out soon and smash em.
Couple clunkers there! Nice job!
Thanks!
nice day dude!
Thanks man! Hope your season has gone well!
Beautiful largies!
Thanks! More comin soon!
A few nice bucket mouths from the dead sea (at least thats what my cousin calls that place) I've only fished it once! Great video!
Your cousin needs to try harder, lol! They're always in there!
It seems you're having some trouble In dealing with these changes. In dealing with these changes. But. I am happy to see that you were able to get down with the thickness.
🤘 _Open up that mouth, and let me get out that hook!_
What an awesome day!
Great job, man!
Thanks!
Solid ass day
Yeah not bad at all! Just a lot of work!
Don't get many days like that. So you definitely have to enjoy every moment of it. Those were some mighty fine fish! By the looks of the big one it could have been even bigger. Looks like it had an empty stomach
Right? Imagine that fish in April!
Dang you wore em out! Congrats on a great Day!
Thanks man!
I called them "giddy moments". Way to go!!
Perfectly named!
Right beside the boat yet. Definitely gets the heart rate up. Nice bass. Nice pike!
Oh yeah it was PUMPIN! Thanks!
Well congrats you deserve it brother you put your time in love your content great job
Thanks man! She's still in there, go get her!
