When I first heard this Etude-Tableaux by Rachmaninoff, I immediately began to hear the orchestration in my head. I imagined that at one point playing strings and bowed instruments; and at another point -- woodwinds. And I thought to myself: “I wish someone would do it someday. Or I'll have to do this hard work.” And then I came across your video. And then I listened to your orchestration. I can say, “This is something beautiful and wonderful! “Bravo! I'm blown away!”

I heard this etude-tableaux performed by Dmitry Shishkin. At one point it was as if I could hear the orchestra, namely strings group. Thinking that it would be cool to hear this etude in an orchestral version, I wrote my request to TH-cam. That's how I came across your video. Regarding the orchestration, I would like to say that it is done at the highest level!

I am speechless, I never thought anyone would orchestrate this gem by Rachmaninoff! One might think it was originally written for orchestra. This gives a new perspective on this piece. And also shows what kind of a monster Rachmaninoff was, harmonies in this piece are beautiful and in general all the patterns in this piece make it an amazing composition! Well done for your efforts to orchestrate this!
This is an amazing orchestration! You are definitely very talented. Are you a composer? A professional orchestrator perhaps? If I needed an orchestrator, I would hire you in a heartbeat. Your version really deserves to be recorded by a real orchestra in a professional studio!
