JF '62 Custom Shop Stratocaster IS FINALLY HERE! But who's it for?
Fender have announced their limited edition, Custom Shop master built John Frusciante signature- a replica of his 1962 worn sunburst Strat.
Full details are here: shorturl.at/EV5Ik
If you are a Frusciante guitar fan, there is no doubt that it looks amazing and super faithful to the real thing.
However, are you happy/able to drop 20 K on this guitar?
And who is paying that amount for essentially a new instrument?
Please let me know your thoughts in the COMMENTS & also please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE and a big thanks for watching! 👍

waiting for the Mexican version later on probably in 1-2 years. its coming but wort the wait. stated as the most expensive Mexican Fender ever made with closely monitored by Fender Custom Shop.
Cheers man, keen to see what they come out with down the line! Thanks for watching!👍
These guitars aren't for the likes of you and me. They are NOT gonna get played as they are for investment only. Anyone who can afford this guitar will have other (prob really nice) guitars to play. They'll bring another JF signature out probably around 2 or 3K. Look at how many Peter Green models there are. One for every price point.
@@kennycube5126 good shout, interesting to see what versions they might release for people that might actually play them😂 Cheers for watching!
Snake oil. I've owned a LOT of CS Strats and the more recent ones have been really disappointing. Taken as an independent manufacturer, Fender's Custom Shop is the second largest maker of guitars in the US. There's nothing 'boutique' going on here. If you must have something beaten-up so as to reflect some unearned credibility on you, go play a bunch of early 70s CBS Strats and pick the one that feels right. Later ones were often dogs but there are still some gems that can be had for a lot less than an overpriced CS guitar.
@@bm7760 Thanks for watching and interesting perspective - what are the best CS strats that you've played out of interest?

Lol, my tremolo is broke as well. I bought my in the later 90's and love it till this day. It really has no volume without any gain. Playing super clean is a challenge, it like to get dirty real quick. I typically just bump the gain to about 9 ish or what makes sense and it is great. It is a surprisingly warm amp. I play it with my Epiphone Casino and Les Paul Studio. I have recorded with this using the line out and it is cool for a poor man amp. BTW the valve is on the bottom of the amp just above the speaker in an aluminum cylinder. Just rotate the cylinder a bit one way or another and pull down, there is a spring in there and you will see the valve.
@alextennant2051 nice one man thanks for the info and for watching! I'm still using this amp daily, such a great sound!👍
What happens in music is exactly the same thing that happens in cinema, tv, comics, literature, video games, newspapers, websites, and any cultural media: political propaganda. It has all been corrupted into political propaganda, and there is no place for art or entertainment.
the trem knob isnt a button as far as I know I have the same amp -- tremolo works but it doesnt pull in and out (I think your pot is broken) andd I agree 1000% this is a DYNAMITE "sleeper" amp wonderful lovely vox tone for little $
@adriananthony6654 nice one man thanks for sharing, I will likely take it to someone to get it repaired as I'm likely to destroy it with my electrical repair skills! Would love to hear the trem, but, like you say, even without, it is still an awesome amp! Thanks for watching!
@@jdfosho Yeah you are correct the trem is not a 'button' or pull out knob. Zero on speed turs the trem off.

@123coining123 thanks for sharing mate, and cheers for watching!
IndyRockPlaylist comes out with tons indy pop and rock from loads of bands almost every month. There's a lot of good band music out there, but it's just not in the top 400 mainstream Spotify list or whatever that list Rick was referring to.
Easy fix…don’t listen to the top ten or anything considered popular.
I haven't listened to Top 40 since I was forced to on a daily commute over ten years ago. My life is full of great new music because I make it that way. People don't understand how easy it is to avoid that bullshit.
Fair shout! Cheers for watching👍
I like Rick and I have learned a ton from him. But on this topic he's out of touch and starting to sound like a grandpa. The reason bands are missing from the charts is because the charts don't mean shit. They are fabricated by the record companies and manipulated by the artist. How many artist got caught mass purchasing their own album to drive those charts? Maybe Rick's generation still looks at those charts but most people in my age range I've discussed this with 25-30 don't even have the first clue what the billboard is. We have the internet now. People find bands through word of mouth and viral marketing not charts. And people on the majority besides pop music tend to be turned off by bands being on the charts because common oppinion is those are fabricated. Another way to look at it. Charts are basically like old school print newspapers. Where TH-cam music,Spotify, Pandora etc. Are where you go to find what's hot and new. From my preferred genre do you think Electric Callboy who blew up recently depended on charts? Bad Omens? No tiktok and TH-cam music skyrocketed their careers without barley making a blip on the charts while selling out every show they scheduled. The charts are dead it's a relic and who gives a shit.
Cheers mate, I agree, great to see bands doing well forging their own path! Thanks for watching 👍
He's been a grandpa for a long time, bro. It's like he's never actually tried to listen to the actual alternative rock bands of the time. And he wouldn't "get" the truly impressive and creative works of guitar rock of the past decade, like Daughters' You Won't Get What You Want or IDLES' Joy as an Act of Resistance, because those records are about passion, not jazz theory. When is he going to have Pedro Martins on the show, one of the greatest young musicians alive? Or will that garner fewer clicks than lamenting the death of the thoughtful guitarist in popular music?
@@mskcrc Why is "grandpa" an insult?? Can't you come up with anything better
The sounding like a grandpa just means he's slowly loosing touch with modern bands and stuck in his time on how media works, with the death of radio I think he's not fully grasping the effect of social media and digital communication/word of mouth. As far as in touch with bands? No he is typically on the pulse with that. He helped record and promote a shit ton of bands we grew up with in the metal scene and alternative market. And has been extremely active in the Atlanta music sphere across all genres. He hasn't los touch in what is popular. He's just not understanding how he hears about those bands and the Zeitgeist of music has changed from charts and radio time.
Very good take mate, producers killed the bands :/
Thanks for watching mate!👍
This is super interesting. I wonder if this changes after the Oasis gigs. I mean they made bands cool again in the 90s and we got a whole host of great music from that, it's not entirely unreasonable to think this will happen again.
Good shout mate - the buzz for those gigs is insane and is definitely at least placing noisy guitars back into the public psyche. Maybe the industry might react to this to support lesser known bands off the back of this. Cheers for watching man👍
@jdfosho Absolutely mate let's hope so. Any time.

Screw PMT.. I once wanted to try out a guitar in the window display once. They asked if I had the money to purchase. They are not as friendly as Gamlins or GM music. For fixing the tremolo you need an octocoupler
@janbochert1904 thank you mate, is this an easy fix? I'm almost a complete novice when it comes to electronic repairs!
@@jdfosho Me too! I have no idea, but surely it needs some severe soldering. Personally I wouldn't touch it, I couldn't even determine the piece of hardware that has to be exchanged. I would bring mine to the local amp doctor. Or get a tremolo pedal, if the amp doesn't show any other Cambridgitis-symptomatics. I've read several times, the broken octocoupler might cause strange sounds like humming or loosing volume. For now both (my Pathfinder 15 and my Cambridge 15) are in healthy conditions but I cant' t say if the octocouplers in my amps were renewed or not 🤞
@janbochert1904 cheers, maybe I'll leave it to the experts then! For now, I'll take your advice and stick to a Tremolo pedal, less chance of the amp blowing up, or me electrocuting myself😂 Big thanks for watching and trying to troubleshoot!👍
