This is fantastic
@@jackiemorgan7557 Thanks Jackie! Kim is always a very good speaker on camera!
Was there at Cheltenham for his last ride and backed the winner too. Great day and Paddy got a good send off by his colleagues and proper racing fans.
Wonderful interview, thanks Paddy, all the best for the future, you and your family take care now,
Thoroughly enjoyed this, Paddy was my favourite jockey for his sheer enthusiasm and happiness for any winner, a perfect ambassador for the sport, good luck Paddy Hope it all works out for you
Absolutely, a brilliant ambassador!
Lily deserves more rides ❤
Beautifully filmed.

What's the maximum weight allowed to ride out?
Depends on if it’s a flat yard or National hunt
Not sure about you poms but here in Australia flat racing is about 57 kg
Memories. Thanks. Subbed.
Where can i sign up
I wonder what all these trainers would do without the dedicated staff.Amazing people who look after these beautiful horses.
I need a job here. How do I get a job here?
I worked at a stable in my youth and loved it. My body rebelled though. Question: what are the best gloves to protect hands against extreme COLD?? I remember the pain in my hands during a bad winter.
Deepest beds I’ve ever seen!
Them kids work for pennys on them raceing yards...there up at t crack of dawn till late in t night..what about t pipes u shove dwn t nose and mouth when horses have breathing problems what about when there legs are fucked what about when most end up in t nakers yard bcos thats where thousands end up every year if your gona do a video don't make out everything's rosy bcos it's not horse raceing is descustin all you want is the winners
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
God, racing in UK isn’t bad! America and in some places In Australia are terrible, they drug up horses and beat them. I hate American horse racing.
I think Austria is much worse within the racing Industrie just because they're breeding more than they need
Kimberly yeah, plus also they beat and drug horses. That’s why you don’t horse race in Australia.
@@chrishale1345 totally agree😊
Here in Australia it's pretty dodgy but we've got a lot of good stables but a few bad I've had a lot of luck when plating in different barns but its very black and white
this is the dream for me
Wow it's great to see some responsible racing, Don't get me wrong I know not every horse racer is bad but the reality is.....
Holli Rose finally someone with a brain!
@@chrishale1345 Thanks so much it is great to know somebody else understands
Holli Rose yeah! You have a *big brain*
@@chrishale1345 Thanks U do too!
The reality is that racing is the most natural sport for a horse, and they love it 🤦♀️
Do the stable staff sleep at the yard or have digs not far from the stables
God it looks cold up there!!
Nice one: more along such lines, please. Subbing.
Any job, I go
I want to work somewhere like this when I’m older ! I owned a frankel gelding who I trained but he passed away I’m only 12 and have some ponies of my own !
If your 12 you didn’t own it, your parents did
Good for you! Your parents can legally make you a part owner of any horse they own. I am happy for you. 😄
How do you people find job opportunities like that. Im 5ft 5" and want to become a jockey, what do I need to do, who do I need to ask? I understand the risks but am willing to do anything to make it happen. How do I get started, Im weigh 145lbs but know it's possibke to loose the 30lb when I have the skill. Any help woukd be great. Plus, I would have to get paid minimum wage, but am hoping to find racing stable to live and work at and offers health insurabce and some stuff like that. I will do anything in my power to make it happen, but how, I believe I dont need to go to a school, just the experiemce, and becoming apprentance would be almost a dream come true.
I wish i had a horse
Tomas Bautista noooo Waste of money
Wonderful facility i JUST WISH the racing industry wasnt so abusive! sad world where money is more important
Most true comment I’ve seen!
You really have no idea..my racehorse has the best life a horse could wish for. Retirement guaranteed, and a lot of great care.
@@mirjamb.8960 I have some "IDEA" as I own a ex-racehorse that was not done so well by its owners. Like everything else ALL of the industry and people inside it are bad people but your ONE GOOD experience is not indicative of the rest
@@sirtubemaster it’s not all abusive. I work at a yard and the horses are incredibly well looked after and treated like royalty. Don’t paint an entire industry on your silly assumption
@@harric9864 it’s NOT SILLY assumption if I have real experience with my statement so good for you that your blind to the industry Just because ONE location is better than another it’s still abuse and your ALL guilty of joining in
Racing is abuse
Ponylovers 28 oh fuck off
Well it is
Ponylovers 28 bull shit
Ok that is it 😡😡. I have a question for you? Are you an equestrian or do you know anything about horses?
Ponylovers 28 yes of course I’m an equestrian in fact I own 3 horses
brilliant documentary. all the best to everyone out there
if you read this mr baily what happened to my scoundrel small gray nutty thing
great trainer to work for and he brought the best out of me in riding and bringing horses on but just like him lambourne wasn't the right place for me and he sacked me but he is a good man to work for
How old do you have to be to work there or to help out?
Anni Tinnion I started volunteering at the raceyard where I live when I was 15 and the trainer started paying me when I turned 17
More depends on the people I started riding race horses at 14 and got paid each day for riding
Horse racing is highly abusive though....
Alexandra Brown I know right. The horses die when they are 12 and my aunt has a horse that is 28 and she was a show jumper.ps she lives out side.
Theses horses are bread for racing. All the horses that don't want to be race horses and race they tell u after the first few times on the track and then they sell them or bread from them. I've ridden showjumpers and eventers since I was 6. I'm now 16 and I ride showjumpers and race horses and seriously race horses get treated better than showjumpers. U can't say that it's abusive if u wanna say that well show Jumping is worse. Race horses hardly get drugged. There's been more drugging in show Jumping. Don't get me wrong I love both I own 4 horses and compete but you shouldn't be saying stuff about racing when really you don't know what goes on in a racing stable
Interesting...
These docs are phenomenal. Joe McNally is absolutely right. Very informative. Thank you, Cotswold
this video looks good and you care for your horses. BUT how many of your horses end at abbititores or fall at jumps. Love horse too but horse jump/ racing brakes my heart. RACING FOR PROFIT. NO NO NO
J Holden over 99% of racehorses retire sound (0.2% die) in the UK and none are sent to slaughter as I can guarantee every horse in the UK racing industry has been given a substance like bute which means they are not suitable for slaughter for meat. They are rehomed to private homes. My ex racer ran 40 races, won a fair few, never fell, retired at 10 and came to live with me and I have had him 10 years this month :)
Jess93 The UK seems to set the standard for care in the racing industry though. Unfortunately it isn't the same everywhere. I believe Australia has a far higher injury and death rate than the UK, and because we don't consume horse here, I think the abattoir regulations are much more lax. Sure the really big places like Godolphin can afford to retire and rehome horses appropriately, but then there are too many operations that just don't seem to care past the point where the horse is no longer able to make them money. However, I have come to see that this isn't only true of racing (other disciplines do the same thing too), it just tends to happen on a much bigger scale in racing because of the money involved (can attract the wrong sorts of people) and because there are just too many horses bred (comes back to potential for money). I think certainly there are people that need to see that there is more to racing than just abuse (I myself used to absolutely hate it, but have come to see it a little differently now). The thing that really needs to be changed in racing though is the age they are started at. Racing by 2-3 is just way too young, and so bad for their developing bones. In every other sphere of riding, a horse is not even started until they are 3-4, sometimes older. If they can fix that, I can see potential for me to enjoy horse racing, but at the moment, I just can't support it.

10:50 someones not happy about wasting the water, oops haha.
I started at Darby Dan Farms. I advanced enough to move cross country to Southern California. I rode for Trainers Bob Baffert,D. Wayne Lukas,Richard Mandella and other Trainers. I loved horses all my life. This is a very awesome film on the sport.
you all probably dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@@rayjonas9355 Oh Shoot.
@Ray Jonas instablaster ;)
@Gatlin Thatcher i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Gatlin Thatcher DAMN IT REALLY WORKED! I just hacked my Instagram password within roughly 45 minutes by using the site. Just had to pay 15 bucks but for sure worth it :) Thanks so much you saved my account :D
2:07 "ya do it because you Love it".
Mark, Mac PARLAND-Cuthbert no they do it for the money.
What are they wages ? I'm thinking of either doing something like this or become an instructor ...
wages arent great. they are better then they used to but still not fantastic. you wont get rich of it but if you love horses and like to ride its the best job in the world. i earn about 208 a week before tax its enough to live on as long as your careful
I’ve been thinking and have got an idea. When I leave school I’m doing an apprenticeship as yard manager and instructor. Then when I’m 18 do this until I’m about 22, then moving onto an instructor and yard manager job then pack up and move to Wales and buy a yard 😂😂
Wages are Terrible most horse people want it as cheap as possible a lot of the staff are under paid and overworked
I used to race and this is very accurate XD
Lovely video, very well filmed and beautiful horses!
Fantastic work
I've never been sure of Horses & racing but I did think this was very well done & have some info I did not know! I'm 16 & I posted a few videos of my horses... it's not done near as well as these.. But I'd love for you to look at them please. Thanks Lydia Brahler bit.ly/2kuh3Jw
