Very nice presentation - wish that I had one Bleuette for my own collection! DJW, Baltimore
I wished I owned a bild Lilly in both sizes so Barbie is really a knock off , I've got some good knock offs like bild Lilly and Barbie , they even have lovely 1950s style clothes well made for knock offs
Very much enjoyed this presentation. I have been having difficulty finding information on how to clean antique cloth dolls. I recently purchased a Martha chase or Martha chase type. It needs cleaning. Seems like I've heard of using cream of tartar. I do think this doll needs overpainting that I purchased. The hair and such have worn down a bit too much. I assume oil paint is best but I'd like to read or watch someone do a work like this. Any recommendations?
Hello I live in France in the Provence Alpes d'Azur region Near Aix en Provence, at the foot of the beloved holy victory of the painter Cézanne I have been collecting blueberries since I was a child, since I inherited all the blueberries from my grandmother, my great-aunts, my mother, my aunts, my godmother, because I was the only girl in the family! Later I inherited those of my mother-in-law and her sisters. So I have a lot of cornflowers, from the small twins of 1905 to those of 1956 With them a lot of clothes, furniture, made by these generations of little girls according to the patterns of Suzette's week. and lots of small objects made for their dolls by all these little girls. I have a large old dolls' house for blueberry, with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a store/dining room, all this furniture is old and from different periods. I also have some Gautier languerau clothes and furniture. There are not many blueberry collectors left in France, alas. many have died, like Mrs. Merlen, whom I knew well. Sami Odin's wonderful Paris Doll Museum has closed its doors. What sadness! There are no longer any salons dedicated to Bleuette. So I feel very alone with all my daughters! I could spend 3 months in the USA with my son in Florida at the beginning of 2025. I would like to meet some Bleuette collectors there or find out where I could meet them: perhaps you could give me this information? I subscribed to your You tube Sincerely, Christiane HARREL
Very enjoyable program, Fred, thank you and Merry Christmas!
Thank you for a very nice presentation! Merry Christmas!
Wonderful presentation, Fred...lovely Santas...thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas
Always a favorite-a local legend in my town, the great great nephew of Clement C. Moore used to tell the family story that the poem was written to entertain the author’s son after he was injured while riding his pony and was bedridden for several months while his broken leg healed.
Beautiful Christmas poem for sure!! And, thank you for the great looking Santa Claus dolls. Very nice. Tonya Adams
Wonderful Carol, Thanks for providing so much detail about these dolls.
I'm fairly new to Bleuette dolls and appreciate the very clear history, markings, and overview of sweet clothing. Thank You!
A wonderful overview. Thank You for your knowledgeable sharing.
Very interesting video. Facts about Lipfert are fascinating and his sculpting talent was amazing and made him, and the associated companies, infamously successful. Considering the information presented regarding the Bubbles/Effenbee the Dimples/ Horseman lawsuits and the timelines there of...if Lipfert's Bubbles was before Lipfert's Dimples in a timeline, Bubbles being early 20s followed by Dimples, mid to late 20s, what facts explain the presence of several Horseman Dimples dolls manufactured and marketed in 1909 though the beginning and known to be prior to WW One???? One can easily find these Horseman Dimples dolls from before The War. If Lipfert did indeed do work on the side for Horseman, was that work done before or after Bubbles. I have seen a 1909 Horseman Dimples, a 17 inch baby doll, and the head sculpt looks very much like the 1920s Horseman Dimples dolls. Any thoughts on all of this? Thank you, Tonya Adams Dallas, Texas
Thank you, really appreciate learning about these dolls. Didn’t know very much about them before.
This was a very comprehensive overview of the American cloth doll. Filled with wit and wisdom, and it was a pleasure to see all of the wonderful dolls up close and personal. Thank you-I love all of Carol Cameron’s presentations!
Extraordinary presentation with knowledge of Japanese dolls and culture spilling out of Alan every second! Learned so much, luved the photos! Wish I could join your tour, now that would be an experience!
Nice surprise at the very end! 😊
Loved this. Do you know if Bleuette only came with human hair wigs?
Been a Bleuette fan since early 2000's and love to sew for her
Finally understand much more about the markings. Great program
This was a wonderful, informative program. Great presentation. My heart thanks you
Thanks so much for the informative presentation. It was fun finding out about the Bleuette patterns.
I learned a lot & found it very enjoyable
Bleuette entered my collection in 2006 and remains a *favorite*!!! Nice program! Thank you!
I'm a brand new Skipper collector and I love this video! I actually just got my first straight leg Skipper and I've been trying to figure out her hair color...she has really dark brown hair so I kinda can't tell if she's Raven or true Brunette (like you mentioned at about 16:12). One hair color variant source I've found (edit to add after finishing video: it's the one you referenced. I thought some of the pictures looked kinda familiar and then you said you used some from there 😂) says the color variants on the SL dolls are only on tan body dolls with the "skipper" part in the © marking on the butt, with one exception...the "raven" color. Which is still only on the tan body, but the © marking on the butt doesn't say "Skipper" anymore. My Skipper's marking is the second one, and I actually got her with two other dolls..a Skooter and a (what I think is) a living Skipper head on a SL body. Those two definitely seem to be pinkish bodies to me. But I cannot tell. I guess I will be able to compare when my other SL brunette doll comes in (her listing photos showed the "skipper" © markings in her butt, AND her hair looks lighter to me in the photos but it'll be easier to tell in person...) and if THAT isn't any help... maybe my Brunette TNT will be of help when SHE comes in 😅
I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. Your love for your grandmother, her creations, and your ongoing love for the business really shines.
