New favourite video on the internet!

Great video thank you. My late father often spoke of flying and very similar landing procedure also. He was a Spitfire fighter Ace with 81 Sqn RAF during WW11. He used to say a fighter pilots survival in battle was a matter of "the quick or the dead". RIP. Larry Cronin Jnr

Wonderful video, but get rid of the music and replace with the sound of the spitfire.

As a kid growing up in the US I've always considered the Mustang my favorite WWII fighter. However, a Mustang can't hold a candle to the curves and complex flowing lines of a Spitfire. Particularly one so clean and polished those lines are glorious.

Lovely video and some nice info. I was lucky enough to fly in MJ627 (piloted by Jon Cooke) for my 50th. Easily the best experience of my life and would absolutely love to do it again one day! Thoroughly recommend the experience for anyone who maybe sitting on the fence about going for it 😊

Great video Neil, thanks for sharing. This may seem like a silly question but how do you get on with the spitfire control column? I always look at it and think I sort of wish it was a standard stick type? I guess it just takes some geting used to !

Fantastic video

Flew in BS410 a couple of weeks ago. The greatest experience of my life. Expensive? In a way, yes, but remember - you can’t take it with you when you depart this earth. I can’t recommend the experience highly enough.

Bader soloed in a Spitfire in late 1939, very likely a Mk 1a or an early Mk 2a There were no two seat trainer versions and he did his pre training in the North American Harvard. In 1946 he had been flying various Mks for over 6yrs.

My dream one day. My grandfather was a pilot but a never meet him. He died in plane crash 1940 in B3. I love so much this plane ❤❤

What a great experience this is. When you look out the window and see a Spitfire forming up it's an incredible feeling. A spitfire is a beautiful aircraft on the ground but when it is next to you in formation it's elegance is perfectly demonstrated.

What a beautiful thing. Spitfire with invasion stripes, and the sound of that Merlin engine.

Such beautiful aeroplanes, their sound is music to my ears. But my eyes watered unheeded on 80th D-Day, knowing why these beauties came to be. It's one thing to watch a movie about D-Day, it's another entirely to hear an old man who, when just a teenager was there, jumping into seawater with hundreds of others, hearing bullets whistling past him & hit the man slightly off side in front of him, fold over & sink under the weight of his kit. If the bullet hadn't killed him, the sea would. What do those few surviving people think about the people & countries that they were fighting for, what do they think of us now?

The Spitfire was not the only aircraft to be in service at the start and at the end of WW2...Bf 109, Ju 87, Wellington (Costal Command?), Lysander perhaps? So many.

This is by far the most beautiful Spitfire of them all!
