At the corporations I have worked at at least half of the managers were psychopaths and it only took one to sabotage your career so if you report to two or more managers you always had one sabotaging your career.

She is quite correct in saying that we all have biases. Nobody has ever given any example of "unconcious" bias. We are all fully aware of our biases, and they are quite often justified - our biases are a result of millenia of evolution. Our brains are limited, we do not have the power to assess every single data point - we have to make generalisations. Generalisations work, that is how we have survived; and nobody more fits the stereotype than "woke" people - they are as predictable in their stupidity as a Swiss watch is in it's accuracy.
I'm curious about how you feel about how folks exhibit pro-black biased BEHAVIOR. Blacks and whites both have a pro black bias. I just found a study that shows that black people have three times more pro-black bias than white people have. So it's no wonder that black people feel like they're being treated unfairly and unfortunately everyone is buying into it. Here is the video with 17 cited sources. Start at 18 minutes and 13 seconds and hear the stunning conclusion at 21 minutes and 22 seconds. The 17 studies are cited. Over-all they show a pro-black bias. th-cam.com/video/11kxfIi9ftA/w-d-xo.html

I gotta say the cohost Troy is really grinding my gears throughout the episode. I totally totally get the purpose of having a devils advocate. Although it almost seems like he is trying to tear down Dr Cotellessa's points. Every human being is a learner, that is #1, polymaths just take it a step further and go beyond just dabbling. I'm curious to see if she would agree with me, but I think ANYONE is capable of becoming a polymath. Sometimes it happens by accident over the course of their life, and they don't realize it until the end. People who see themselves as polymaths, or even multipotentialites, or scanner, or whatever term you want to use; They are the ones who try to build out the polymath life ahead of that point. Instead of waiting till the end. Take for example my personal brand PolyInnovator, I created it to give a way for people to understand me more. To understand what I mean by I live polymathically. The point he makes about ego isn't really something that comes into play that much. Especially not unlike entrepreneur, where everyone and their mother is using that term. Some people think polymaths are exclusive, and they're not. One should not ever underestimate the amount of work, or moreover the amount of learning someone has to do in order to be a polymath. Something the Dr and other researchers are trying to do, as well as myself even with my Multidisciplinary Spectrum concept, is to figure how do we define a polymath? How do we know when someone IS a polymath? One could say when other people refer to them as one, such as in the case of Da Vinci, but waiting post death isn't a good system. Anyways my gripes were that it seemed that he was close minded, coming from a specialist feeling like polymaths were taking over his role. That was the energy I got. However it was a great interview, and think all three of you were interesting. :)
Some will make a new worse pandemic in less than a decade. Not another century.
Or look at the 2 year cycle we have with SARS, MERS, etc.
Its why AI promoters want to install it ASAP and get rid of people. Back to enslavement.
I built a principle for human society. One of these days I will put up a video on it. It will serve from a relationship with a couple, to humanity even outside Earth passing through business and government.
An interesting discussion with management/leadership ideas that challenge traditional thinking. This is good considering current management practices are mostly ineffective in todays world.
Really informative and interesting😊
Ego and blow back and retaliation.... are the risks... I have real stories.... but I was ethical anyway. Cost me a career.
Another brilliant conversation, thanks for sharing. I like your style of conversation, I am learning from you. thanks.
Thanks you for the praise.
@@marcuskirsch4128 I am still trying to re-orient my thoughts - In my personal opinion, “Purpose driven” acts are essential and has been with us for very long time; else humans would not have designed/built “wheel” thousands of years ago, and is still useful. I am IT person, so let me break-down as I view Purpose. Purpose - my narrow version of Purpose, with example Business side view - Business model and dynamics are changing rapidly - “Experimentation approach” has become key for “Innovation driven value creation” Technology side view (support evolving business models) - “IT & Technology Operating model” will only make sense, if it can support "Business experimentation and speed to market". - Cool Technology stack like cloud/Machine-learning/Block-chain, are OK. However - Secondary. Although IT act as secondary in Business end-to-end cycle, it is not prudent to ignore it. My question is - Are we repurposing “Purpose driven approach” in another context & scope? Or simple saying “Keep purpose at heart - as Primary”, give Secondary importance to by-products like balance-sheet, stock-market etc. If we give balance-sheet/profit-loss as secondary treatment, then how long will Primary purpose survive? For example, profit-loss is fuel to organization, how can it be treated as secondary element. Although Purpose sounds essential, but What is purpose? Is it context based? a tool to get focus & direction?
Very thoughtful and brilliant, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Tell everyone, we have plenty of great ones :)
