Learning English can often be a tedious and monotonous experience, especially when you have to deal with never-ending grammar rules. Commas in Complex Sentences
Punctuation in the English language is not just important; it's crucial. It's the key to clear and effective written communication. This is the beginning of a three-part series on punctuation that will cover everything you need to know and more.
First, we began with periods (also known as full stops), question marks, and exclamation marks. These are not just symbols but tools that can significantly enhance your writing.
We have moved on to commas:
Commas with a series
Commas with adjectives
Commas in compound sentences
And now, commas in complex sentences.
Commas may seem unimportant, but they are not and are used in many different ways, all of which can make your writing clearer and effective.
So, follow along with our punctuation series and become an English expert. To keep you actively engaged, we always wrap up our lesson with a fun and interactive game to test your knowledge. This is not just a passive learning experience but an opportunity for you to actively participate and test your understanding, so don't miss that either.
I'm a "Certificate 4 Qualified TESOL teacher", so please get in touch with us if you have any questions about this video or anything else. We would be happy to help you out.

Great work
Thanks, appreciated
Just a little squiggle and so much to think about
This is so true
Wow, the commas are complex too, and thanks for the explanation 😊
Yes, such a little thing yet so important
Capitalisation is obviously important
Ha ha ha, who would have thought that flying sheep could teach English 😂
It was very helpful understanding how important the subject was.😊
Yes, the "subject" is essential to any sentence
Yep, lists of things are confusing
We often use lists, so it is important to learn.
There is just so much to learn, I need to watch these more
Yes, it takes time to learn any language fluently
I always enjoy the game at the end
@@BuenAmigo68 Glad you enjoyed it.
I was surprised by the rooster 😂
@@bigroundwatermelon6456 Yep, something different
I thought that this was the difference between British and American language, now I know the real situation
Glad to help
I agree with you about plurals
Yes and thanks
So cool
Thanks
I’ve often been confused by punctuation, when to use what?
Most definitely!
Yeah, there's a lot more to it than periods and commas.
@@hatchet5440 Glad that you agree.
I like your new game at the end 😊
I like to make new ones all the time.
Verbs are more complex than originally thought
You have a few parts of speech TH-cam’s. I guess there is much to learn about parts of speech.
Yes, there really is a lot to learn
You seem to have a lot of TH-cam’s I am wondering what will come next.
Stay tuned; many more are coming.
Great
Thanks for coming along
Parts of speech can be difficult
Superb
Glad you liked it
Good stuff
I love the animation and voice over that you do with them.
Yeah, I do enjoy doing them
Great job.
Thanks
Is it possible to have the answers or corrections at the end of the TH-cam’s so I can see how good or bad I did with my answers?
I could try, but it is best to watch the video again and look for your errors.
Wow capitals do seem to be more complex than I originally thought.
They certainly can be.
Super granny, so adorable.
But her rocking chair needs oiling
The quizzes at the end can be tricky.
You can cheat by pausing the video if you need too.
Great work
Thank you so much 😀
Who would have known where the days of the week came from, have learnt history as well as English grammar.
There's a lot of history behind the English language.
Capitalising can be quite difficult in the English language.
Such a simple thing, and native English speakers quickly pick up these errors.
This is really good.
Thanks a heap.
What characters. I can just see the characters. Thank you for making this fun and active.
A pleasure.
That is udderly hilarious
Love your humour.
The poems in the test were funny 😅
They weren't my poems, but I'm glad you enjoyed them.
I enjoy your voice acting 😂 especially about Caspian and Jimmy
Yeah, I enjoyed doing them; English should be fun and rewarding.
Keep up the good work man
Just chugging away man.
I really enjoy your animations, better than watching someone raving in front of a whiteboard 😂
Yeah, I think so too 😅
True, standing in front of a whiteboard is cheap.
There’s a lot to think about even with capital letters
Yes, there is a lot to learning any language.
I’m glad that you break up all the details into smaller pieces in different videos
The more one understands, the more solid we are with the subject.
Thanks for all your effort, please keep it up 😊
Thanks, will do!
I’m glad that you are going into more detail with this capitalisation 😊
Yes, some people try to group too much information together and miss the finer details.
I enjoyed the hard game at the end
Yes, a bit of a challenge
I’m so glad that you go to great lengths to explain these things.😊
I try
Wow
So, I hope you liked it
Superb
Thanks 🤗
Many thanks for your help 😊😊
