You do not need organic fertilisers to grow organic fruits and vegetables. Best you can do for your soil at home is save all kitchen scraps ( all vegetable peelings, egg shells) and blend - the egg shells add calcium to your soil - incorporate indoor and let sit for a couple weeks before planting. You need to be wary of soil type and which nutrients each different fruit / vegetable needs. I use soil mixed with our kitchen scraps ( no meat), eggshells, used coffee grinds ( you can ask Rituals for theirs at end of each day), fish blood and bone ( purchased at Amazon), goat and sheep manure and worm castings ( worm waste also purchased at Amazon). If using this soil mixture for tomatoes you will need more calcium/ magnesium than just eggshells to prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes. For tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers and any other peppers, rose, peonies, Rhododendron, azaleas, citrus plants, black and blueberries, passion fruit - I water once a week with diluted Epsom salts - yes it works and increases fruit/ vegetable production. I used these items when I lived in TNT as well as in Europe and I have been successful in all. This works for me, use it if you like or not, that’s up to you. Ps - Leah, does not need to purchase basil plants all the time - the one she already has at home in garden growing, she can cut between 2 joints in stalk and the cut stem, place in glass/ bottle with water ( change water every day) in a week the stem will send out roots, when roots are about 2 weeks old, transplant in soil. You get new plants, at no extra cost and it also encourage the initial plant to produce more stems ( to spread) and produce larger basil leaves.

Hi Vedesh. It's so nice to see Helen and Kavita back on video. Papering school books was a chore for me too, but not so many (1950's, 1960's). You did a great job, with Leah's help. As to the garden, look at how much you and Leah are saving by planting your own and it's so satisfying when you can reap what you sow. As usual, the food always looks appetizing 😋. Garden looks great.. wish I have my back yard garden year round.. but due to the cold weather and snow everything dies.. But I have a little garden for the summer.. have lots of tomatoes... sweet green peppers.. habanero peppers and bird peppers.. also some potatoes.

Beautiful garden. I started growing everything I could from seed this year. I have not had to buy most veges. For snails and most pests what’s worked best for me is I gallon water, I tablespoon of dish soap and 1/4 cup of neem oil. Mix all together and spray once a week. It works really well to keep most snails and bugs off. And it’s safe.
