Hi ! do you think that traveling to the dolomites for hiking in mid april is a good idea? thanks in advance
Thanks❤
Beautiful and informative video! Thank you kindly for sharing your experience!
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's interesting to see your USA perspective of Europe. About AC, I'm proud that we don't have it yet, and I'm so afraid of the climate bomb it will be when Europe, India, Africa and China begin to use AC like the US does. The environmental impact is so huge. And as for gas, thanks to this high price, cars are smaller in Europe, and most people use the train. The consequences of such behaviors can be seen directly, when you compare per capita emissions between European countries and the USA.
good that you dont push the overcrowded spots... just cause there is a cable car you dont have to use it use your feet ;)
great video. Is this Drone friendly? I heard mix reviews on the internet about Drone is prohibited in dolomite region.
I had no problems what so ever
this is one of the most imformative travel videos I've watched , I can't believe you only have 92 subscribers! such a underrated channel. I am still deciding whether to go to Italy and Dolomites in mid October. would it be too cold then ?
Thanks! It would definitely be cooler fall weather but it might be nice if you’re doing long hikes. I’d bring a jacket and get after it
@@RyanTravels100 thanks Ryan. desicion desicion . haha. anyway. keep up the good work!
@@RyanTravels100 sorry one more question: what's your experience / suggestion on booking of accomodation in advance? I sort of want to only figure out my intnerary when I am over there depending on the wehther etc. is it doable to decide the destinations and only book accomodation a few days in advance as I travel in Italy and switzerland ? thanks
Hi, Can you share the google maps saved pins?
Hey, I wanted to ask if it's a good idea to go to dolomites in mid October?
Yeah, the weather will be a bit colder and in mid fall. Great time for hiking. Pack a sweater and get after it. Consider pairing the trip with nearby Austria or Switzerland where there are more foliage that will be golden as the leaves turn colours
Great Video!! when was this taken please ? will it be like this in early October ?
I was there the last week of September so it should be
Hey mate, I am interested in doing the WW1 tunnels trail but I have already done a 20 mile loop in Tre Cime that went around Cima Una and Cima Grande. Do you think this trail would still be worth doing given I’ve already covered a large part of Tre Cime? Also is it possible to do without climbing gear?
The tunnels are a cool experience but if you’ve already hiked through most of the park, this wouldn’t be drastically different than what you have already experienced. If you’re in the area it’s worth doing, but I wouldn’t fly across the continent just for this one hike. As for climbing gear- I wouldn’t advise going to the top of paterno without the gear, but it’s not needed for the tunnel portion
Great video. THANKS! Heading to that area for a month in September and we can't wait!!
Enjoy! That’s the month I went as well. Less tourists, less mosquitoes, great weather
Outstanding video, no nonsense, ALL helpful info. Just decide to hike Dolomites in July/Aug 2025 and started the research. Where to? Rent a car or not? Many Thanks!
I would definitely rent a car, the Dolomites are so spread out so if you want to see a few different spots it will be easier with a car. Plus if you want to beat the crowds you need to get up early before transit is even running. The western half has the rosengarten national park, alpe di siusi and many other iconic things, but the eastern half has tre cime di lavaredo, cortina and many more hikes. Honestly, no matter where you go there is lots to see. Also, side note: look up Pizzeria La Cantinetta on google maps - great tiny Italian pizza shop run by an old man and his son
@@RyanTravels100 Where did you rent your car? And how much was it per day or per week, if I may ask?
@@RobertWildling I rented my car in Milan by the train station, because I took the train in from Switzerland where I was the week before. I honestly can't remember the cost, but I remember thinking it was about average cost per day... comparable to other places in i've been in USA/CAN. Gas however was a big cost... it was around 2 Euros per litre throughout the dolomites
@@RyanTravels100 Thanks for the quick reply! Appreciate it!
Hi, I hiked this summer a week in the rosengarten-area from hut to hut (with my dog) and if I should give you a tour-tip I would send you on the hiking trail "Alta Via 1". Yes, its no secret tip but on this 8 day hike (from hut to hut) you will get a great picture of the different landscapes of the dolomites. If you are a little bit lazy: there are a few professional travel organizer in the internet. They organize it for you, so you can save the car rent. I wish you a great tour!
amazing video, i love it, do you mind for a little discussion ?
Thanks mate 😊
No problem 👍
Hi there! This is such a great video! Would you be able to share the names of these specific hikes to find on AllTrails? The loop to Nouveaulau?
For sure! Rifugio Nuvolau via Rifugio Averau on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/trail/italy/veneto/rifugio-nuvolau-via-rifugio-averau?sh=nasltn I’ll update the rest in the description
We’re heading to the Dolomites early September this year. This is super helpful!
September is the perfect time to go. Less tourists, the weather is still warm, and best of all … the mosquitoes are gone lol
Great video man. Appreciated your realistic and no-nonsense take on things compared to most vids that just approach it like a big area advertisement. Hope you keep traveling and post more!
Glad you enjoyed!
Amazing tips - thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
November 15th is the perfect day for Zion.
Why is that?
@@RyanTravels100 weather and crowds are gone, and it’s not Thanksgiving vacation. I was at the narrows starting point at the end of the River walk trail at 3:40 PM on Tuesday November 14, 2023 when the rock fall happened at Weeping Rock. Leaves were changing colors and it was t- shirt weather at 8 AM.
@@RyanTravels100 I was sitting at the end of River Walk trail watching cold people come out of the Virgin River when at 3:40 PM on Tuesday November 14, 2023 I heard a very loud rumbling for 10 seconds. I thought earth quake, or large military plane. I walked back to Temple on Sinewava and the buses were on hold. My female bus driver was hilarious. She kept us entertained. She said the original report was rock fall with injuries. After 1 hour we got under way. At Grotto bus stop she had us close all windows because of rock dust in the air. We picked up freaked out survivors covered in dust at Weeping Rock trail bus stop. They said it was ten seconds of terror. Rock fell 20 feet from a lady. The weather was perfect and leaves were changing colors and there were no lines of humans . I camped Watchman campground . Got space with no reservation. 11 A.M. My first visit. I have no intention of ever going when there is a crowd of humans.
Wow that’s crazy! Last time I visited was shortly after that rock fall. And I agree, when it’s too crowded it ruins the experience
@@RyanTravels100 I just can’t see trying to have a nature experience in a crowd. Winter looks like an interesting time to visit. Hope you’re well and happy. Peace.
everything has already gone up so much in price since you've posted this. A flight from Winnipeg MB in Canada to Madeira Portugal is $1500 minimum with 2 over night stops...
Oof yikes. If it helps, booking 6 months in advance is usually the cheapest price.
thanks! ill keep that in my mind! @@RyanTravels100
Gros Morne National Park, Niagara Falls, and Mont-Tremblant Provincial Park are also great spots to check out!
