Skating in my 40’s!! 360 FLIPS!!! And the tricks of a feeble old man.
มุมมอง 653 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this episode I do a couple of 360 flips and feeble grinds, as well as a couple of my first krooks’ on a a rail in over 18 years! I also try some tail slides and do a few flat ground tricks.
Skateboarding in my 40’s! No plan, lots of fun!
มุมมอง 453 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this episode I have an early morning session at a local skate park and do whatever I feel like.
SKATEBOARDING at 43!! Finally getting KROOKED GRINDS!!! And skating new obstacles.
มุมมอง 354 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this episode I skate some obstacles that are new to me and I surprise myself by landing a few tricks on them. Then, I finally get krooked grinds and I do it on the worst ledge I could have found, to relearn krooks on after 18 years of not skating.
OLD GUY has a SCARY SLAM doing board slides!!! Learning to skate again
มุมมอง 494 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this episode I work on board slides, kroocked grinds and manuals.
43 year old RELEARNS old TRICKS!!! (And a new one too!)
มุมมอง 414 หลายเดือนก่อน
On this episode I practice frontside 50/50’s and krooked grinds. I land the first flip trick I ever learned back in the day and I try backside 50/50’s; a trick that used to scare me so I never learned them… until now.
43 year old SKATEBOARDS again after 18 YEARS! Welcome to the channel.

In this video I give and introduction to my channel about my skateboarding experience and why I decided to begin again 18 years after stopping. Hope you enjoy.
A dead park how lucky! Good video
As i get older i'm liking transition more and i've been trying some kick turns lately and its been so much fun! ( even though i do it mostly at the bottom of the quarter almost ). That looked like a great sesh! The skatepark looks awsome! @dadboard is the best, i love his videos and he helped me with some tips before.
Transitions scare the crap out of me
That is a sick park probably like 30 min from my house! I see the Mather water tower hit the commo or Exchange LOL
I’ll be working in LA for the next month or two but we should meet up when I get back.
Cool skateboarding dude never to old to skate
Never to old indeed!
@@NateGoesOutsideNo sir keep skating
This FS slides and Krooked grinds are so smooth! 🤯 👊🏻
Thanks! I’ve been working hard on them
Good to see you back brother! Nailed that 50-50, super SICK brother!
Appreciate it!
lmao this park is so terrible it looks fun
lol!
Do i spy a new board? Great sesh! Those tre flips are looking fire!
Thanks! Yeah I’m stoked to get those back!
Whats Up Nate! Love the 360 Kick Flip! Sick! Yeah I was at a park yesterday with a real nice ledge and zero run up, it wasn't like I was going to do anything on it anyway but if you are going to build an obstacle at least make it so it can be skated.
I know right? There are so many parks like that in California.
Feebles 🔥want to learn these!! Tre flips down!!! Took a break from tail slides, opposite of you, your landing on it nicely with weight on the tail. Mine I land but dont stop shoulders so continue to rotate through like a 180. Man what awesome session Nate, killing it!
Thanks man! Yeah I’ve never been able to really slide on my tail slides but I think I’m getting closer now. Getting rid of the old bad habits.
Great Krooked grind? On the rail and your flip tricks are insane! 👊🏻
Thanks!
Nice work. Looked like a fun day. 👏🏼🙌🏼🛹
It was! Super fun!
Is this the Moraga skate park?
Yeah it is lol
Nice, looking good. 🛹☠️
Thanks 👍
No plan sessions are the best! Looking good and smooth, great bag of tricks coming back! and getting some transition time in 💪
You know it!
I love the 50-50 down the hubba that was sick and yeah not sure why you stuck either it looked like you waxed the heck out of it! Anyway great sesh brother and thanks for meeting up Saturday I feel like I made some progress always helps to have a homie to hype you up.
Yeah brother! It was a fun sesh!
Nice nose slides and that rail slide too …. 😳 looks like a high drop 💪🏻
It was!
Have a good week too buddy! Great video, as always!
Thanks! You too!
Sick park!! Making lots of great progress...Super clean Krooked love these!
Thanks dude!
Yea Nate!! That FS Boardslide 🔥My wrist would have hated that slam, glad your good to go man!
Yeah dude my wrist didn’t like it very much either.
Sick brother that was insane, I hope I land a crooked grind someday that’s such an awesome looking trick.
You’ll get there bro! Super fun trick!
@@NateGoesOutside Yeah just have to keep practicing!
Great boardslides. 🙌🏼❤️🛹
Thanks brother!
Great video! That slam was scary to watch. Keep them coming!
Rad Nate! Those BS slides… 🔥 glad the slam wasn’t severe man, I cringed at how you landed 🙏🏻
Glad you didn’t break you coccyx! lol Can’t wait until I am board-sliding that far crazy good! Looking forward to the next sk8 sesh!
I know right?! Me too! Happy birthday bro!
@@NateGoesOutside Thanks man appreciate it!
i can't do heelflips or heelflip variations with my toes hanging off or anywhere near the edge or i'll whiff the flick. i setup basically the same for ollies/kickflips/heelflips, but i might be an outlier in that. plus, i can't land shit with any kind of consistency yet so you don't need to be taking advice from me
Yeah that’s interesting. I feel like Nyja is like that too but I’m not positive.
Congratulations on being back dude! I just got back into skateboarding again about 2 months ago after around 15 years off. Keep pushing man! Maybe check out a couple of my TH-cam shorts of me skating?
I’ll check it out brother!
@@NateGoesOutside appreciate you!
Shredding it! Been fighting heelflips for the lst 4 months and i still can't land them. I'm almost there but not quite. Don't mind me asking, and i'm sorry if you said it on your last video, what's your setup? I'm just curious. Keep the videos coming!
The trucks are Indy’s can’t remember what the deck is but it’s 7’ 3/4” wide( maybe mystery). The wheels and bearings are at least 10 years old but I think the wheels are spitfires and the bearings are bones Swiss.
@@NateGoesOutside Thank you for your input! I've been on a kind of board madness ( as one does eventualy ) and trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work for me. Back in the day everything worked since i didn't have the money to spare and whatever was cheaper had to do. I guess that's part of the fun. Anyways, keep shredding!!
@@PhatMuska what are you riding right now? What kind of skating do you do?
@@NateGoesOutside right now i have an 8.25" twin tail Zero board ( Chris Cole pro model ), Tensor trucks that came with a 2nd hand complete i bought earlier this year so i could get back to skating after 20 yrs, changed the bushings to Doh-Doh's hardest bushings because i'm a "big" guy, Spitfire bearings, Ace hardware and 54mm Bones 100s wheels. I mostly skate at my local skatepark since there aren't good street spots on my area. I bought a set of used Venture V-light trucks, it made my board rotate so much easier! But i managed to strip one of the ends when i changed wheels and bearings, so now i'm back on the heavier Tensors. I'm thinking about changing to an 8.5" next for a even better foot base ( i hope i've made sense, english is not my main language, sorry ).
@@PhatMuska your English is better than most Americans lol! You’ve made perfect sense! Have you considered going to a more narrow board like an 8 or 8.1? It will make the board lighter and it will flip easier.
Rad vid Nate, as this edit went on you left me behind dude 🤘🏻 The BS 50-50 was sweet and I can do them on lowish stuff then came the crooked grind ending with a heel flip… I’m out 🤣 Rad stuff for sure, I gave up in 1992 for 25years then been back skating the past 5 years or so,best decision ever ✌🏻
😂 thanks man!
What’s up Nate you friken shred man! Perhaps you can give me some pointers next week?
😂 thanks man! I’ll do whatever I can to help!
@@NateGoesOutside It’s appreciated!
Welcome back!!! Great BS board slide😳 I’m 48 in August and getting back on the board when I was around 42 was a game changer for my well-being. I hadn’t skated for 25 years as I gave up the year I stayed college in 92 age 16. I never for one moment thought I’d ever skate again after getting married in my early 20’s and raising 3 kids, I’ve been in the same job for 27 years as a Telecom engineer and also was a Retained Firefighter for 4 years along side it during my 30’s. so life was too hectic to take time out just for myself. We moved down to Devon 11 years ago after reassessing our lifestyle and I have a supportive wife who I’ve been with for 30 years who understands the mental benefits of me skating and when I become a Gramps last year I’m even more determined to keep on rolling 👊🏻
Wow! That’s an inspiring story brother! I’m so stoked for you and your family! Amazing!
Dude!! Thank you for the shout out!! Yaeh looks like there are a few of us damaged vets, got to suck it up and drive on not too far off this skateboard community's attitude of getting up and trying again no matter how long it takes to get it done. Great video I hope you post more.
I will! Looking forward to skating with you next week!
@@NateGoesOutside yes me too!
I got back to skating at the begining of this year, late January, after a 20 year hiatus. It has been a STRUGGLE to get back the 3 or 4 tricks i had back in my teen years. Overweight plus mental block have been keeping me from progressing faster. Either way, it has been fun and i get to exercise and meet new people. Subscribed! I'll see you around! PS: @DadBoard @OldBrokenSkater @KevinNiceTry are other good channels to peek too ( not trying to take away the "spotlight" though )
Keep at it bro! In this video I’m about 45 pounds lighter than I was six months prior. I feel great! I’ll definitely be checking out those other channels!
Ayyyy!!! Welcome back, man!!!! Very similar story, started when I was 11/12 then stopped at some point in my early 20s. Joined the military in my late 20s, fast forward to now, will be 43 at the end of the month. My body has been through the ringer, and I decided to start skating again late April of this year. Been super fun to relearn stuff and really think about tricks now. I think that for me, at least, when I was younger, I was just doing tricks to keep up with my friends. Now, I can think through it so it makes sense how I am doing them... if that makes sense. Anyway, again, welcome back, and hope to see more of your journey!
Hell yeah! Bro! Welcome back to you as well! It’s so much fun!
