Louise Tribute
A reflective tribute to my beautiful wife, Louise Catherine Selfridge-Doig, who passed away on 02/08/24. This was played during the service to celebrate her life. Full service can be viewed at th-cam.com/users/liveCo8CVd9YRvQ
Opening track: For Now
This time my friend
I can’t comprehend
So embrace
The place
Where our hearts transcend
You’ve always been
My rock, my Queen
With you
I do
Visit in my dreams
And I will be right with you, through every fight
Kiss you in the morning, when we say goodnight
Our love will beat within me ‘til the day I die
But for now, with angels fly
We’ll cry today
As hearts convey
Love’s cost
Embossed
On my soul you’ll stay
For now, there’s pain
Nothings the same
But love
Our love
Through it all sustains
And I will be right with you, through every fight
Kiss you in the morning, when we say goodnight
Your love will beat within me ‘til the day I die
But for now, with angels fly

      That depends on the strings (length, tension, mass, ...) but from what I've modelled, I can usually get a sound from about 1.5 - 2 m/s (3.5 - 4.5 mph). Harps and models can be quite unique though.

      @@rodselfridge9341 Rod Selfridge When you swing a piece of wood through the air, does it always stay the same musical note, or do they bend? And is the note based on the size and weight of the wood? Basically I am writing a speculative fiction story and in this world I am trying to invent a lots of slightly different things to our world. One of the things is a type of organ, that would through some kind of mechanism swing lengths of wood through the air . Each would have to hold a certain note I think. Do you think that could work?

    • @rodselfridge9341
      @rodselfridge9341 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nipitatum So for a broom stick for example that is a uniform diameter, the frequency of tone will stay constant as long as the speed of air passing around it stays constant. The relationship is frequency approx = (0.2 x speed) / diameter. You might want to look up the work of Vincenc Strouhal, who proved this back in 1878! If you swing in an arc then there will be a range of frequencies because the tip of the broom with have greater speed than closer to your hand, but the gain (loudness) of the tone is heavily dependant on speed so will be much louder at the tip. If swinging the broom handle where the whole length moves at the same speed - then it will be one frequency. Hope this helps. (You can take the speed of air passing around an object to be the same as the speed of the object passing through stationary air.)

    • @nipitatum
      @nipitatum 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rodselfridge9341 ok, thanks. So it keeps the same note as long as it is a horizontal or vertical chop (don't know if that's the word for it) so long as it doesn't arc. But if you do an arc there would be a range of notes? I think that's what you are saying. That makes my design a lot less beautiful but might make it easier and more realistic to construct. I was thinking of having something kind of tree shaped with blades spinning around a central truck, but if what you saying is correct it could be made with row of guillotines chopping up or down. I will read Mr Strouhal, or try to.
