I found that wrapping lead wire and packing it into the back of the bead head, it stops it from moving back onto the fly itself!
Really nice looking fly m8. Greetings from ICELAND 🇮🇸
bloody awesome mate!! supa neat"! see ya soon!! :)
Thanks Alois, see you soon 🍻
Great video bro, finally I learned how you do the wings, must try that method. Fantastic tie 💯💯🎣🎣🎣
Glad you found it helpful mate, give it a go and see what you think
Hi, very well dressed fly, great technique, EJ Malone's IT&SF might interest you, in particular NI. fur bodies, blending for translucence. Blk pea herl-one side, large oval, up the body here does wonders. Your fly can be further improved by including a long topping as an underwing as a support- good way to use them, but also as a re -enforcer of the tail in profile. Nice to see some one using a pattern that is well proven, rather than one that may have caught ten fish, as a fashion pattern. Delphi salmon pattern(JC in centre, Gr/ blk hackle throat) is a good pattern in Sept for holding fish and may be of use to you. Fl underbody under fur further improves a pattern, sublety is a far more effective strategy. Enjoyed your dressing standard as some one to keep the knowledge going. Well done.
Thanks for the feedback, I must pick myself up that book!
I learned something I'll be trying. Never knew to use a double wing! I noticed you don't do the classic pinch and loop, with the loop also pinched in the fingers holding the mallard. And if you cut the mallard off leaving longer stubs and wind the thread through them, that, and waxing thread, might save you gluing the mallard. But you might have a larger "head" then. Great video. I like the camera being to the front and seeing from the tiers point of view
Thanks, I used to do the pinch and loop for attaching the wings, but I find this method easiest. Like anything, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Give it a go and see how you like it
Good job on that mallard wing
Thanks
Hi Anthony, the aft dubbing, what kind is that?????

Tied this today went to the river and caught a dozen brown/seatrout. still in search of a salmon 🤞
Great video - liked the different camera angle - probably not so easy for you :-)
Thanks, yeah the camera in front of me, in front of the vice is awkward, but I think it's give a nice angle. Thanks for the comment 😊
Nice one, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks mate, hopefully you found it helpful. Thanks for the comment
Nice work.
Cheers Peter 👍
Superbly tied...very well done.
Thanks Peter 👍
Brilliant fly and a lovely dressing
Hello Anthony, This is another beautiful fly. I have a question about the tail of this fly. How long is this tail. I read different methods but yours appeals to me the best. Simply beautiful. Thanks for your answer.
Thanks Ton, I prefer the tails on my Irish shrimp flies to be slightly long, the tail on this is about twice the length of the body. Hope this helps
Many thanks for your answer. Can I also take one and a half times the total hook length? This is i think the minimum length for the tail of shrimps. Is this correct.. Because i don't understand the definition twice the body length. Do you mean twice the total lenght of the floss and tag.? Many many thanks for your help. Sometimes i am struggeling..@@Irishsalmonflies
@toncremers9776 it's really personal preference, so if you tie it a little longer and that's what you want, then so be it. What I mean by twice the body length, tag to front hackle is my body length. Hope this helps 👌
Many many Thanks with this explanation. This helps me a lot and now i understand more about tying these awesome flies.I wish you much success with tying and hope to see many more beautiful videos.@@Irishsalmonflies
Great looking fly mate!!
Podoba mi się jak kręcisz. Jest w tym spokój 🤔💪
Great tying and video mate
@Irishsalmonflies - Hi Anthony, your flies are outstanding mate. Can I ask please, where do you get your capes from and what are they called? My hackles look nothing like yours and I'd love to have the ability to craft a hackle like you. Many thanks
Thanks for the nice comment 👍 The tail is a golden pheasant breast feather dyed black, the mid orange hackle is a metz hen neck and the from hackles is just a basic black indian cock cape
Great video 💯💯🎣🎣🎣
