    Is the train safe to ride to Houston? I lived in East Texas and it was unannexed - with an HOA. There were groups and organizations and charities that EXPECTED people to get involved, there were groups of people who choose what people to do and get involved with, or your would be bullied. One example, there was one restaurant - and they HOA leaders yelled at the people to get to the restaurant and spend their money. Is The Woodlands anything like this? The Woodlands looks great, I like the woods, walking by the water (btw) do ducks visit the water, I like the population to be around 100,000, and a train that takes a person to big downtown Houston (if safe) sounds awesome. I am really concerned about the busy bodies that like to rule over others lives and tell them what to do - please be honest and so appreciated it. A different video said there were no HOA fees, there was a Township fee.

    • @MovingtoHouston01
      @MovingtoHouston01 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a great question.…The country clubs in The Woodlands offer a variety of high-end amenities, but not all include dedicated spa facilities. The Woodlands Country Club, known for its five distinct golf courses, extensive racquet sports, fitness centers, and swimming facilities, focuses more on recreational and fitness activities rather than spa services. On the other hand, Carlton Woods Country Club is renowned for its luxurious amenities, which may include wellness services, though specific spa facilities are not explicitly mentioned. If you're specifically seeking spa services, you might need to explore other local facilities or dedicated spas in The Woodlands area.

      Hello and thank you for your comment! Everyone is going to be in a different place when it’s the right time for them to start looking for a home. If you are and a good financial position, you should definitely consider purchasing a home before homebuyer demand really starts to skyrocket. At that point, you’re gonna start paying a lot more for a home than if you were to buy one sooner and refinance when interest rates come down.

    • @MovingtoHouston01
      @MovingtoHouston01 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! When you're using your gas fireplace, you'll want to stick with what's meant to go in there, like ceramic logs, glass beads, or fire stones. These are designed to handle the heat and won't mess with the gas flow or combustion. Make sure not to toss in anything else like wood or paper-it can block the gas and become a real safety issue.

    • @andrewsnyder9262
      @andrewsnyder9262 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Been in Pearland for about 7 years now. It’s not a great community. Sure it’s a relatively quiet place for a family but the people are not great. Diversity seems to have some negative effects imo. People are not nice and it’s relatively low class for a highly rated suburb with “good schools”. It is tremendously overrated in most facets. It might as well be a slight step up from south Houston areas…the people certainly feel like they are right out of the rough areas of south Houston. Of course this isn’t everyone but many. I have lived in many different states and overall, the people in Houston and surrounding areas are miserable and lifeless. Stressed overworked and always on edge. The few nice people you see don’t like to connect with others so there really is no community feel and no way to build friendships face to face. I have two kids in the school system here and I don’t believe the school ratings are an accurate reflection of the actual conditions. So much wrong with Pearland; it really seems they are trying to maintain facade.

And then there's the community vibe - it's super welcoming and active, making it easy to connect with folks and feel like you belong. Can't talk about Memorial without giving a shoutout to the Memorial Country Club! It's pretty much the go-to spot for socializing, with killer golf courses, tennis courts, and some of the best dining options around. It's a great place to chill, meet your neighbors, and join in on the fun events they host throughout the year. And let’s not forget the amazing Memorial Farmers Market. It turns shopping into a fun weekend adventure with its fresh produce, unique artisan goods, and super friendly atmosphere. It’s a place where you can really get to know the local farmers and crafters, all while enjoying the freshest finds and supporting local businesses. Hi Patrick, do you have any idea how easy or hard it is to get a variance approved? I suppose it would depend on the circumstances, but do you have any experience getting one approved with the city of Houston and if so, was it easy and how long did it take. I ask because we may be buying lots with less than 30' frontage and would like to be able to add a driveway. Nothing crazy.

    • @MovingtoHouston01
      @MovingtoHouston01 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Getting a variance is time-consuming and majority of the times will not be approved. However, Once you’ve gotten some guidance from the Houston Planning and Development Department, you’ll move on to the crucial step: filling out the "Variance Application." This form is where you’ll detail your property specifics, precisely what variance you’re requesting, and the reasons behind it. Think of it as painting a picture for the city, showing why the usual rules just don’t fit your situation. After submitting, your request might be reviewed publicly, letting neighbors have a say. It’s all about making a strong, clear case with that application. If you want to try another route, you can always go door-to-door and have your neighbors sign a petition, allowing you to alter the deed restrictions to allow your property to do what you’re trying to do. Just make sure that you have an attorney review that document and write up the adjustments you’d like to have made to it.

      Absolutely, my house is facing one direction and my front door is on the side of the house. Am I pointing the compass when coming in or when leaving the house? What direction am I standing to get if it east or west? Or am I using the direction of the house or the door?

    • @mmapinkall
      @mmapinkall 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FM-nk1zh you stand in the middle of your doorway looking outside This is easiest advice for a beginner to self measure. Hold the compass horizontal at the level of your chest. The number facing away from your chest directly (ie where the compass needle exactly falls) is your door direction/compass degree. Your compass should ideally also show the degrees (ie the digits) for precision. Therefore when telling your practitioner the direction please tell them the exact degrees and they will know what direction exactly that is.

    LOL! In my market, single family home inventory is back to pre pandemic. Selling season ends in Sept. Now we are seeing large price drops. The local single family rental market is collapsing as more and more investors throw their over priced home onto rental market in desperate attempt to save from bank. Normally we see about 250 units, right now there are 650 units on market putting huge downward pressure on asking rents. Good luck getting your head out of your rear! LOL!!

      Hey Joe! Thanks for sharing your insights on your housing market. It's fascinating to see how real estate trends can vary from place to place. In Houston, we've been lucky to witness a consistent 5% annual increase in single-family home values for decades, supported by our rapid population growth. 📈 It's concerning to hear about the challenges posed by investors causing price decreases in your area. Striking the right balance between investment activity and maintaining affordability for homeowners can be tricky. Hello again! Drip trays are not typically located inside the walls of a residential structure. Drip trays are commonly used in various appliances or systems like air conditioners, but they are not a standard component within wall structures. Weep holes, on the other hand, are designed to allow moisture to drain out of walls in certain construction contexts, such as brick walls.
