How was the concentration found?t 5:35 you say that its 0.702, but I dont see that reflected anywhere. Im sure its a long shot, but maybe you will see this!
In the previous video, in which I show the serial dilution of the red food dye solution (Cool-Aid), I poured 35.1 mL of the stock solution in the 50 mL volumetric flask and filled it to the mark with water. Assuming that the concentration of the original solution is 1M (the instrument won't accept a value of x for the unknown, so I assume it's 1 M), you can calculate the concentration of the diluted solution using the M1V1=M2V2 formula, so 1mol/L*35.1 mL= M2*50.0 mL, from where you get M2=0.702 mol/L or 0.702M. Once you calculate the actual concentration of the red food dye in the Cool-Aid, you can multiply each concentration by that value and you get the relationships between the actual concentrations and the absorbance.
