Next time any of you fools comment of the genius of Gruber, just remember where he stole all that 21st century knowledge from...you looking at it right here.
The left hand at 0.37 onwards is what kills me!By a huge margin the greatest genius that ever sat behind a drum set.For all those too young to have seen this great man live, well, you cant begin to imagine what he was like !!!
This is actually so incredible out of this world !!!! What a Drumwonder Buddy Just was !! I don´t think we will ever see another genious like him again. God bless him , and us that he was here showing us all how can be done !!
@stevebul Yeah . . . Buddy's performance at the 1965 Newport Jazz Festival. He said his solo at this gig was his greatest performance. Said he played things that day he did not even know he could play. He said it was the best he ever played, before OR since. I've been fortunate enough to see 30 Buddy Rich concerts. Amazing, all. Sure wish I was there at Newport, though ~
If you ever wondered what a perfect drumming technique might look like, just watch this.Absolutely ridiculous!!!For all those too young to have seen this genius live, all I can say is,imagine seeing him, hearing him and yet still 'floating' out of the theatre scratching your head muttering to yourself,"HOW THE HELL DOES HE DO IT!!!!"That my friends was what going to see the 'great one' was all about. Its not possible to clearly put into words. You had to see it for yourself.Oh!for a time machine!
Look at the distance his right hand has to travel from the high tom to the floor tom, and how efortless he makes it look , like at about 2:29. Freaking amazing.
That left hand😳😳
I still let out a nervous laugh when I see this. It's like the video was sped up. This is well beyond words.
In a suit..no less!
buddy will always be: THE MAN
Your the one talking horseshit, Speedy was a Great drummer, just a shame he died early
Horseshit...Speedy played like he had two hammers in his hands...nothing more than a double stroke roll...Buddy feared no man.
his rogers always sounded the best
wow deeper then Ludwig!!
There's nothing old school about it.
you need to look up Speedy Jones the only drummer Buddy wouldn't do a drum battle with
Rufus'solos were run on sentence No commas, periods or semi colons Impressive to watch but not to listen to
At 1:31 to 1:34...he`s so fluid, looks like he`s stirring soup!!!! His hands, should be in the Smithsonian!!!!!
Good grief. Look at em at 1:40. It's astonishing. Ive yet to see anyone else play that fast. Ever
Wow! Transfixed in amazement.
