She should’ve never take that away from him… the “I know” can be said later as comfort. Coming out is his affirmation… his reckoning! His empowerment! PLEASE Parents please never do this to your child… let them speak… it’s so important your child says the words… it’s how we own it… it’s how we move forward.

I've never understood why, before coming out to their family members, people don't make themselves self-sufficient in case of rejection or a negative reaction. Wait until you have an independent life! If you are sure of your parents' love and understanding, wait until you are independent anyway. It is a security that you must not give up.

That ending absolutely crushed my heart but it mended it just to see how much Jason cared about Alex, it is just amazingly acted and I just can’t believe this many people put so much effort into this one video, but either way it ended up great, and I could watch it a million times again❤❤

I can relate, thats how it was for me when I was younger and I am the biggest disappointment to my parents, even now, I'm still the biggest disappointment to my parents.

In this day and age "coming out" should be a non issue. I really don't get parents (in particular) who can't/won't accept their children regardless.

i guess both kinds of parents were present here - the bad ones who beat up and kick their child out of the house when it says ".. i´m gay..." and the good ones who acceptthefact their kids are gay in some kind (don´t know if i wrote it right - just a german gay guy try my best in english) - when i saw the film i got the idea that alex didn´t tell his parents about his life because he know what will happened
