I am a pawpaw (Asimina triloba) grower from Northern Illinois. I have placed several times in the Best Pawpaw Competition at the Ohio Pawpaw Festival. All of my pawpaw videos have been added to my Creme DeMentia Pawpaw Content Playlist.
I'm also a circuit bender. I have written articles for www.GetLoFi.com. You can find audio recordings at cremedementia.bandcamp.com and a load of long play live experimental electronic performances at vimeo.com/channels/cremedementia
Check out my Creme DeMentia Live Music Playlist and my Creme DeMentia Circuit Bending Tutorial Content Playlist
There are also 50 episodes of my quarantine cocktail show Stir Crazy (which has been canceled), all also arranged into a convenient Stir Crazy Playlist.

Circuit bending a saxophone Santa GEMMY keep a GOOD. EYE your local good WILL
The apple glitches are always awesome if you score that chip. So many different chips in the apples. The green alphabet toys seemed like newer versions. The red keyboard could be fun to try. Great episode.👁️📺👁️
I was curious about that - seems as though I remembered it being different inside when I saw the one Tommy bent years back. I have quite a few of them and am thinking about opening some more of them.
You should try to circuit, bend my pal scout
@@danzeldiaz7447 not sure I'm familiar...
Of course it’s Janky. It’s called Janktech for a reason.
I thought about it but YT seems to be cracking down on copyright stuff, so I purposefully muted in-store audio as well. I imagine these recordings are already available online.
I’m not a lawyer, but google does consider fair-use legitimate, as long as you are not playing large portions and expecting to be monetized for those videos.
@Getlofi I'm not yet qualifying for monetizing but I'm not far away from one of the thresholds for being able to do so. I'm sort of avoiding any conflicts so that I might. I would imagine you are monetized at this point given subscribership and views, does it amount to anything? Do you have videos that are not monetized vs ones that are? I have just tried to make content avoiding it for the most part - did end up getting a strike over a segment of a Train VHS I had uploaded.
Nice, could you give us a sample of what the thrift records sound like next time. The covers and titles always trick me into “top of the pops” type.
*run for your fucking life, it's already alive*
Seeing as they are ground - triggered, you should be able to nix the 4066 chips and use transistors instead?
@@circuitbenyeah could be - this is from forever ago and I abandoned the project (although I still have all the parts). I noticed that I had uploaded it when going through old files and changed from private to public. Might go back to revisit but power sharing and mixing down to two outputs began to seem overly daunting. I might try to revive some of it but simplify it a bit.
you made the one on the right sound so ominous
I’m pretty sure that’s a type of caterpillar pretty cool find
It is probably just because I pay particular attention to my pawpaws but it really does seem as though they seem like a magnet to a myriad of native insect life. This one looked oddly similar to a pawpaw twig that didn't quite make it, I noticed it because I tend to knock off the little dead material when I see it.
IDK why but your channel name gave me quite the chuckle lol
This is an incredible video
That's what happens when you have too much time
I found you on Facebook while viewing the paw paw festival event page. I'm so very excited to try this fruit for the first time!!! I have been waiting years!!!
Thanks for coming out to see us!
@@CremeDeMentia it was so great to be there and see the community come together to celebrate this beautiful, medicinal fruit! We need to bring paw paw to the spotlight! Thank you for taking the time to so generously package and share samples and seeds and share so much good information! That was so wonderful!!
Noooooooooooooooo
I will be there. Can't wait to taste my first pawpaw!
Thanks for coming out and letting me know you're watching! Great to meet you.
Primitive bow string. Awesome! You turning that branch into bracelets?
Maybe a possum racket
Do you know if there will paw paw seeds for sale at the illinois paw paw festival?
@@cosmocarom-h5c Yes there will be some, I believe. There will definitely be some freebies.
I planted paw paw trees two years ago. I lost them all in the drought because of a pit bull that kept attacking me when I went outside.
Good stuff. A wild fruit is one of my favorite tasting paws so far this yr. Looking forward to kysu 3rd Thursday this wk!
I’m just learning about pawpaws. Two days ago I found pawpaws in my yard. I think this is the first fruit of this tree. Had no idea what the tree even was. I just made jam with some of them today. Thank you for the video. :)
@@cynicalenough2355I have plenty more pawpaw content if you are curious, check the Creme Dementia Pawpaw Content Playlist - whereabouts in the country are you?
@@CremeDeMentia I’ll look into your videos :) in Ohio.
@@cynicalenough2355i mention the Ohio Pawpaw Festival briefly in this video, you should definitely consider a visit next weekend if you are anywhere near, there is quite a bit to take in especially if you are new to pawpaws... lots of good info.

@@chexrice I intend to follow up with more info. Things quickly disbanded after the contest and I didn't manage to talk to Mark.
Ill be trying the milk jugs for sure! Like how they have a wind brace too.
Nice. Some good sounds!
Speak and spell? Where are you?
Sold a bunch of mine and gave a bent one away but I do have a little personal stash of nice ones I've been meaning to get to (TI Speak N' etc., that is). They seem pretty well documented but Golden Sound Stories not so much. I have been meaning to make more content that explores my bends for certain GSS books, but the process has been slow despite the evident demand from my TH-cam analytics.
This actually has a speech synthesizer and I know the lion King book does as well
Different circuit architecture than the Lion King - Lion King conforms to the circuit standard I prefer / see video description and @cremedementia Golden Sound Story playlist.
This was a very glitchy VTech Batman toy
Random question but you might know. I’m trying to work out which one we used to have, it had a frog noise (with boing and ribbit noises), a fanfare, and I think a magical/bubbley noise & lightening. I might be moving a couple together but I can’t seem to find it. I don’t think it was the frog Prince
@@jessicabunny6984 definitely sounds like Frog Prince to me, except for the lightning. I am pretty sure that is the only one with a Frog noise save for possibly Bird Watching with Bert. Hope that helps.
Starvng the clock(s)?
@@timkaiserduluth i uploaded this years ago but never published it, noticed it was set to private, so I made it public. It is a relative of Golden Sound Stories but they play 1 random of 4 total sounds when the button is pressed. Was trying to run 6 triggered by a Hex Schmitt but ran into voltage sharing issues, so I abandoned the project (well, I still have it but clearly it needed rethinking). Golden Sound Stories seem to be some of my better performing videos. Recently did a data backup and am uploading a bunch of old material, nothing terribly new for me on the circuit bending front. I wanted to do a bunch this summer but other things have taken precedence.
There is a Mexican version I like of this it’s only a few ingredients. Maria cracker lime sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk it’s soooo good please try it that way too you’ll love it. The Maria crackers really make a difference.
Just blend the evaporated milk condensed milk and limes and layer that mixture between the Maria cracker kinda how you’d layer lasagna and top with grated lime and freeze overnight I promise you’ll love it more
@@carlily3122 Thanks for your comments, I'll have to look up Maria crackers, I am unfamiliar with that brand.
I bought the vanilla flavored Maria's - there was also Milk flavor - do you have a preference on flavors you use?
@@CremeDeMentia I never knew there was a milk flavor I always used vanilla tho
@@carlily3122 I tried this again like a parfait with the regular recipe layered with pawpaw in between mixture-cracker-mixture layers and it worked well. I also found a purple yam sweetened condensed cream on Amazon so I'm gonna get a little crazy on my next one.
Sounds like another Flexi Disc single on the way.🤩
I’d like to see the painting behind you and know its story 👍🏼❤️💛
@@joeblow812 the artwork is by my brother-in-law Larry Stephens aka "Sinister." If you go to my playlist and look for "Stir Crazy," his paintings make a lot of appearances in the background of those videos (a show on cocktails I made during Covid). These I think were based on some dreams he had, I believe, and feature a coven of Witch-like characters. I really like them and they have been in the house for over a decade. I believe he has an Instagram...

This was really good. Needs a soundtrack, though. I'm thinking a polka version of Sabotage by Beastie Boys.
Check out my many cicada videos from Clarendon hills if you haven’t seen them already. This video was very interesting.
Good stuff!
It's just not the same when the chicken doesn't cluck!
I gotta say I was a bit disappointed, but the restaurant was otherwise great.
@@CremeDeMentia I've been wanting to go there ever since they opened initially near Taco Bell. Now they're at a bigger place and even open for lunch. Gotta get there soon!
@@HeyInternetEricherethe only thing I would say is don't bother with the Gravy, just get their other dipping sauces - long story - it was otherwise excellent.
omg lol. I about lost my shit when you describe the asmr. How funny. We have the annual cicada's here in NE Oklahoma. The sound gets old after awhile tho. When I still had cats, they always caught them and brought them to me. Still alive. They are twice the size of those. I had no idea they were that small either. Thanks
Thank you, I truly appreciate it! I try to inject some humor into my videos while also sharing what I'm learning in my little side quests. As an Oklahoma resident, you might be able to grow Pawpaws, which is one of my main hobbies / TH-cam video topics. Definitely worth it if you like native insects!
Locusts are a type of grasshopper
😮
Hubba Hubba
At 18:05, you found a Zombie Cicada! Massopora cicadina is a sexually transmitted fungus that eats away and replaces the cicadas abdomen. I have been on the look-out for this, but have not seen it in person.
Thanks for the info! I had heard a bit about this but didn't know if that was what I was seeing or how to properly describe it. I think it was the only one I saw like that.
I like that little green frog on the leaf at 3:26
Yeah, Sue got some pics of that frog and someone ID'ed it, but I cannot remember the name... I'll try and get it.
Good looking grafts! How old are the rootstocks?
Good question. This video is a couple weeks old, despite the recent release date. I think one of the grafts is taking but I think the scion might have been collected a bit late or stored poorly by yours truly. It looks like the first one might be taking , though, fingers crossed. My grafting success rate is a little dicey, but it takes practice, practice, practice. Seedlings are X years old, probably 3 or less, but these were all "graft dodgers" from previous attempts as I sold off a number of seedlings last year. Have a new batch of seedlings to pot up, some of which may become root stock, but my room for grafted trees is increasingly limited, all trees for "up north" will have to be seedlings and probably are going to be select ones at that.
excellent... thanks... best regards
Appreciate it! Looks like the first graft is taking but not so much the other two. Perhaps I'll have better luck here soon.
This story has almost everything! History! Romance! Intrigue! Just needs a high-speed car chase and some explosions to round it out!
I'll make a point to borrow your car next time I visit...
