I took a month off work, here's how it went (vlog)

In April I went on sabbatical-aka, I did something a little crazy and took the entire month off work (perks of running your own business). Granted, most weeks I’m only physically able to work ~10 hours a week anyway. But still, it was a much-needed disconnect to have a full month with no deadlines, emails, or edits that I had to expend my limited energy on. This month I started writing a new bo...

Great video, i find your video looking for info on GJ tubes, as i'm about to get one myself soon because of severe malnutrition due to severe gastroparesis, and i'm terrified, but honestly, living with this condition has been a really terrifying experience in general, but your video and your experience with it, gives me courage to face this situation, i have a question, did you try any medication for the GP before getting the tube, and haven't you try other options to treat the GP, like G poem, pyloroplasty, etc.
She seems a real sweetie.
So much cat! <3
this is gorgeous!! i wish i could see this live, excited for where you'll head to next <3!
the vibes in this are IMMACULATE omg

Does you feeding tube hydrate you ?
Yes, to an extent!
You are so pretty ❤ From Iraq
I also flew from Atlanta to Cleveland to see their disautonomia clinic back in November! I am considering going back to see their motility
The GI doctors I saw there were really great!
@haileyhudson4157 did you see Dr cline by chance? They asked for so many documents to be able to schedule !
@@devynmackenzie9570 yes, he was one of the doctors I saw and he was AMAZING!
@haileyhudson4157 awesome! I will keep that in mind
Hi Hailey. When I heard you talking I thought you were in my mind. It is such a different state of living that only if one has a tube can really understand. People take for granted so many functions of their body that, when they lost, they break down. After a 10- year fight with tongue cancer, I was finally forced to put a feeding tube. My tongue doesn't move so my speech has been impared as well.I think for me it is the social aspect that is most difficult for me. It is somehow comforting to know that someone can relate. Thank you so much for sharing. Greetings from Greece.
Hi! We really do take so much for granted, our bodies do so much! I'm sorry for what you've been through but I hope your tube is helpful to you. Thanks for commenting.
Loved watching this! Looks like such a beautiful month!
Thank you Hannah!!
The goats and kittens oh my gosh my heart 🥰😭
RIGHT?! Knew you would love them
Hailey, This was a beautiful vlog and looks like you had a wonderful sabbatical! Your family and friends seem like lovely people. I never knew Georgia was so beautiful! Loved seeing your home and cat too! (Kristi Lynn from Focus Fix.) :) <3
Thanks so much for watching and commenting, Kristi! I love living in north Georgia ❤
yes
Oh and i thank your sister for her service💚
😆hehe yeah military bases are confusing to get around, I'm actually a military brat so I'm used to being on bases
Im glad i came across your video. I recently got a peg tube because i am a transplant recipient and my organ isnt working how it use to be inam being relisted for another one. Thanks for sharing because ive really been discouraged about what changes im about to experience. Youre very brave. I am currently getting my nutrition through TPN.
I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I have a feeding tube in right now I'm not using it and every time I eat food it really bothers me in my stomach pains and stuff. But the feeding tube that I was formula I was using caused me to swell too bad. So they took me off of the formula and told me to go back to eating small meals to try it because it was making my kidneys worse being on the feeds because they couldn't find a sodium free one for me. I commend you for coming out and talking about this. You making me feel like it's possible to go back on the feeds and have a better life than the way I'm living now. So thank you so much. I'm going to call my doctor today. I have severe paralyzation in my stomach. It doesn't work at all The hardest problem I find is having to cook for my family, my husband and my son when the smell of food really bothers me and my stomach and I feel like throwing up a lot of times when I'm cooking because my husband can't cook
Hi! I'm sure cooking for your family is really difficult (both with nausea and I'm sure with grief too), I admire that you still do that for them. I really hope you're able to find a good solution to help with your nutrition and your quality of life.
I had a very good friend who had this and 15 months ago she passed away she also had diabetes. She went to the er got diagnosed with covid and died. She weighed maybe 70 pounds near the end of her life. I am glad youre still here and doing good! Bless you
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Ashley <3
5:00 😆 hehe gurl i have the same question for most appointments. "Whyyy i fly all the way there??" That reminded of when i was trying my best not to fight the medical staff in korea when i was sent to Hawaii, just to be told the same information. I still get upset thinking about. 😂 hehe but im glad you got to go to the bookstore.

🫴Hello mam, hope you are well. I watch your uploaded videos regularly and subscribed to your channel. I noticed that you are uploading videos regularly but due to some issues your videos are not getting more views, subscribers, watch time and likes. As a result your attempt is failing. If you want to increase views, subscribers, likes and watchtime then friendly I will help you. Or if you can do it yourself then you can reach the goal very easily. 1. The title of the video should be given correctly. 2. Video description should be SEO friendly. 3. Video tags should be SEO friendly. 4. SEO score should be high. 5. Must be shared on social media. And your channel should be fully setup. Only then videos will come, subscribe will increase
Just so you know, I had to appeal the rejection to Mayo Clinic. You may have to see if you can appeal. I also have multiple complex chronic conditions. You have got this! The best advice I can give is to just breathe and find something you love, to pray, and to find something to watch or talk about even if nobody is listening. It really helps to keep your mind off the procedure or anxiety!❤
Hi Hailey I'm glad im came across your youtube channel, i've been trying to find someone who relates to me in terms of chronic illness but also has faith in God. I'll be praying for you.
As I just found your channel and currently going thru your videos I'm not sure if you have already answered some of these questions, I was wondering at one point did you decide that you needed a feeding tube? Like you at age 21 I had a GI doctor who had suggested a feeding tube, however time went on and it got delayed, at the time I had lost weight and was 98 pounds but pushing thru the pain I was able to achieve weight gain without a feeding tube and over the months eventually got to 135. But recently my weight is fluctuating and going down. I am unable to do normal activities and been wondering if I should go ahead and try a feeding tube but have been super reluctant about it. I'm struggling to eat but am afraid to avacate for a feeding tube since my labs always seem to be in the normal "ranges"
Hi! The first time somebody suggested a feeding tube was after it had been almost a year of struggling to eat (and I had lost 50 lbs in that first six months). I didn't end up getting one for another year plus, but I think I absolutely needed it at that time. If you are struggling to eat, losing weight, and unable to do daily activities, I would definitely talk to your doctors about your need for nutritional support <3 @@couRin2001
@@haileyhudson4157 Thank you so much for the reply, yes I have a Dr. Appointment tomorrow to talk about the feeding tube, at age 21 when a doctor brought up a feeding tube I had been struggling for about a year as well, and now I'm 23, experiencing another delicine in health. It's so painful to eat again (recent health decline has been lasting for over 2 months) yes I can't exercise due to chronic pain and lack of nutrition. And I'm always dehydrated. My scans still show I have mesenteric artery syndrome from when I was diagnosed about 3 years ago. And the doctors are also excepting gastroparesis. Though I get nervous about trying a feeding tube because I have "good days" but mostly bad months. Though it really helps to hear yr story and yr own experience so thank you again
I'm so sorry! Good luck at the appointmnt! @@couRin2001
@@haileyhudson4157 Thank you I actually just got back from it, I'll be having a procedure to get a peg place in the stomach sometime in the next 2 weeks.(feeding tube) 💙 nervous but also excited
Hi Hailey, can you please do a Q & A video; only info you feel comfortable with sharing! God Bless you!
I'm just starting my gastroparesis journey. I'm tired all the time, nauseous most of the time, and it's hard not being able to function as a human being let alone get anything done.
It is truly so difficult to live with. I'm sorry!
okay but those daffodil earrings are EVERYTHING
I have the same pump and peg. I flush with water I never thought about flushing with Pedialyte
I figure I might as well maximize the hydration!

This is so beautiful 😭❤️
I also have a feeding tube and live north of Atlanta!

Going to the hospital for a full GI workup. GI wants a feeding peg placed. Concerned of pain and recovery time. They want to send me to rehab straight from that as i cannot walk and have severe osteoporosis. I will be doing this alone. Any thoughts would be so welcome. You are amazing!
In my experience the pain was not as bad as I’d expected! I would say the surgical pain was completely gone within a couple of weeks. And once I got on the right formula for my body and learned how to use my pump, setting up feeds each day was no big deal. Thinking of you in this ❤️❤️
Thank you so much. I relate to having to balance other health issues. Too. I'm day 9 in the hospital. Site is not as bad my problem is the staff here say remain on my formula Peptamen by Nestle. I'm getting sicker with each feeding. Praying they will listen tomorrow. Holding you in my prayers too.😊
I'm sorry! I hope you and your team can work together to find a formula that you tolerate better! @@janlynlewis2941

What is it like to have a feeding tube
Hi Esther! It's kind of weird... but also, by now it seems normal. I don't even notice it's there. Hooking up feeds is just a normal part of my bedtime routine. :)
