I disagree, what people can make now is really truly incredible and people are able to create nicer scenes than this. The issue is that studios and productions companies do not give the artists enough time to perfect their shots, "if it looks good enough" is now the base line for most vfx because its cheaper to take something that looks good enough than to pay more for something truly astonishing. it comes down to what will make the most money quality doesnt matter anymore and its really sad

Absolute peak cinema was Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Transformers, and Spider-Man. Hands down, no debate, full stop. I was absolutely astonished as a kid watching these in theaters. What an insane experience.
