Dedicated to the drivers of the Drax trains that run between the port of Liverpool and Drax power station in Yorkshire. With a trailing load of up to 2400 tons when loaded, these trains carry the wood based bio-fuel pellets which are used instead of coal there. This film concentrates on the long winter night trains as they pass thru' the NW of England.

7th March 2020, Britannia returns from York to Shrewsbury. This clip shows her rounding the curve at Earlstown Stn before rejoining the WCML at Winwick Junction and continuing south via Warrington & Crewe to Shrewsbury.

13:57 - 14:11 That engine used to be used as Thomas for the “Days Out with Thomas” events. In fact, I actually went to a Day Out with Thomas event at the E&BASR during Easter, back in 2008 and that engine was used as Thomas at Embsay! It’s a shame it’s not in service at the moment, but I hope it will return to steam one day. :)

I personally think it’s time to restore Princess Margaret Rose , she has been dormant for too long and give Lizzie a well earned rest .
Kenneth Hume there's a lot of things wrong with princess Margaret like everything in the boiler has fallen off and things like that cause I had special access to the footplate of her and learnt some history the price to restore it could be around £500,000
in the next few years 46203 princess Margaret rose will surely be back on the mainline and likely to join twin loco 6201 princess elizabeth

looks like the princess royal class twins are back together again because 6201 is now reunited with 46203 since the 1990s when both were working on the mainline
Strange how in some places the single track is central to the bed then to one side then changes to the other side. Odd, too, when a train travels past a signal at danger seemingly whilst a signal on the opposite track is at "go". When the train has passed, the "go" signal returns to danger. Seems topsy turvy and against regulations.
When these lines were singled BR would check out the section of track that was in best condition and would save on repairs and/or relaying which meant you would change sides at these points. Other considerations such as state of viaducts etc where they would centre the single line to ease the weight and vibrations on a bridge or viaduct. Likewise in tunnels. It was a lot to do with economics that could decide whether a line was kept open or closed.

Was onboard that very tour, Infact at 0:44 that's me just in front of you. Apologies for the safety goggles that I had on back then but there had been on a few occasions incidents where I had got cinders in my eyes and on that day in particular I got one in my eye and had to have first aid in the NRM prior to the return trip. Nowadays when im out onboard railtours I keep my head in and only my right hand goes out the droplight window which is holding the video camera, keeps the stewards happy aswell as WCRC and iv never run into any issues with having only my hand out. Before you also ask NO im not friends with Phil and Lamya anymore after how he treated me.
