After being here for 6 weeks there are definitely some cons. We moved to N Eagle Rd. That was a big mistake. All the shopping is here, but all the traffic is here too. Hopefully this is an abnormal fire year. The smoke has been nonstop almost the whole time we’ve been here. Because of this we haven’t been able to go outside and enjoy the natural wonders. The pros we’ve noticed is everyone is super nice. Even when they find out you’re from California. It seems like most people just moved here or are first generation. If you’re conservative leaning you do not need to hide it at all. Not like California. As far as cost of living, it’s about the same as where we came from in NorCal. Some things are more expensive but some things are less.

I just got to Treasure Valley from California just two weeks ago. Woot woot. I just realized if I turn down the street the other way, I end up at Lake Lowell in like less than ten minutes! Soooooo peaceful. I’m sooooo happy. The first half of my life, 51 years, in Southern California. The energy in the air is calm and relaxed. I wish my family would break free of that propaganda in CA.

Okay, born and raised Idahoan here, this is what you need to know about Idaho. I've lived in the Treasure Valley all my life and I can tell you how much I hate seeing all the development that has been going on. Hideous subs have taken over the farm lands and crazy drivers take over the freeways. But I do have coworkers who came here because they heard how beautiful the state is and how 'nice' the locals are. So here's a few things you need to know before moving here. 1.) Idaho weather can change at the drop of a hat. We can get some pretty rough thunder/lightning/hail storms depending on which mountain range the clouds come from. So always be prepared for random weather changes. 2.) If you've never learned how to drive in the snow and think you can just 'wing it', you'll probably end up as a blood stain on the asphalt. Black ice is the biggest danger on the roads here. Go 5-10 MPH under the posted speed limit, even slower if your tires are bad. Learn to feel the road and tap your brakes, and keep a good stopping distance from the person in front of you. 3.) Please use google maps to understand how our roads work in the valley. Several roads are one way only and we can always tell an out-of-stater from a native just from how you drive. Plus, it's heart-breaking to see out-of-staters getting absolutely demolished. 4.) Learn about your 'no-go' zones. These are your sketchy/dangerous areas within each area. I don't care how 'safe' a city is ranked, we still have issues with gangs and other criminals. Talk to the locals to get a lay out and you'll be fine. 5.) Please be polite/courteous of others. Whether driving or interacting with others, we can tell if you're from Idaho or not just by how you act. Idahoans, as a whole, are usually kind and helpful to others. Acting the opposite will usually label you as a Californian.

Idaho will not accept you and feelings don't matter here so get ready to get told the truth from locals we don't want you here plain and simple come visit but don't stay

I am working very hard right now to leave San Diego and move to the Boise area. Getting my house ready to sell. I love San Diego (beaches, mountain, etc.) but hate what it has become over the last 20+ years. I will for sure look you up when we are ready to move.

We live in Star, we love the small town feel and how proud the the Star citizens are. Just know if you live in Star or Middleton you may find yourself commuting further. We have to commute for kids activities and school.
