Rachmaninov Vocalise - 3 years of playing the Cello
Hey guys, this is my very first cello-video. I´ve been playing the cello for three years now - still struggling with a lot of things, intonation obviously being one of them. Still this might be an inspiration for some fellow cellists ;)

Ouaah... Quel beau phrasé, quelle sensibilité.... Félicitations... ❤❤
When you consider that most players get nowhere hear this standard even after five years or more, this is great playing. As this was six years ago I assume that you are even better now.
beautiful 🤎
Sheer bliss
i’ve been playing for almost exactly three years, and i’m learning this piece right now! a fun coincidence :) thank you for posting, as someone who also got a “late” start on cello it’s always inspiring to see i’m not alone.
Absolutely inspiring as you were hoping. I keep listening to LUKA playing this and you after.
I'm here after 6 months, can't stop
If this is how you were after 3 years I bet you're outstanding now! Wow is this gorgeous! I didn't sound this good until I'd played for far longer. I've got to say that adults often progress way faster than children when learning. Hope that seeing your video and hearing these words encourages some people out there thinking of starting or currently learning an instrument but doubting themselves.
Oh wow...Three years? Please tell me you are still playing, you're so good! I started just before my 51st b-day and I'm 6 months into my cello journey. When I played a few notes in second position of a simple hymn I was HIGH for the rest of the day! Obviously I need to up my game and get a good instructor. Thank you for sharing, you are an inspiration!
I have been playing also for 3 years and I can say that this is hard despite that it does not you should also try swan
Unbelievable! Incredibly beautiful I shed a tear listening to you play. I am saving up money to buy a cello. I’m 45 years old but I won’t let that stop me. Thank you for uploading this beautiful video.
Superior. Nice. Inspired. Thanks
Bloody brilliant mate
hi, I am 68 years old, I am trying to study cello, where I can get this sheet music? I LOVE LISTENING TO YOU! THANKS FROM ARGENTINA!!!!!!!!
You should be able to get the sheet music either at your local music store or somewhere on the Internet. Just look for Rachmaninov Vocalise for Cello. Cheers and have fun!
Bravo 👏
I had to listen to this 3 times in a row, brought me to tears each time....I am speechless. I am a 52 year old beginning cellist and I hope to play as beautifully as you some day!
Grand composer.Wonderful music and cellist . Thanks.
You are an inspiration. You play beautifully.
That was beautiful. No matter how long you've played the cello. I listened twice!!
Can i ask where did you get the sheet music?
super perf tone
So beautiful Very motivating I started recently in Sept 2020
Wow!!! I'm 8 months into my cello journey and this is so inspiring.
6 years now! Time for a new video?
Beautiful ❤️ I am at the end of my first year as an adult learner and this is really inspiring 😊
I started playing the Cello one year ago and i hope that I can play this piece in 10 years. 🤷🏻♀️😅 My progress isnt very fast and im still learning the first position. I hope I can play such beautiful some day...
It is not a competition, it is good for The soul! 😀
You found your peace,
I need more videos from you!!!
update plz
This is so good!! Please share intonation tips :-))
Did you start on violin?
Hi Paul, no, on guitar.
Sir finally a video of cello progress that is worthy of respect . You seem to have really practiced throughout the the years. Good job .
Thank you!
How did you get so good intonation in 3 years?
Thanks! I ve been playing the guitar since I was a kid so I had a lot musical knowledge to build on. I m still struggling with intonation every day though, it drives me crazy sometimes. For me it helps to sing along, to record myself and to practice the pieces with piano playalongs. Cheers!
This is great for only 3 years of learning!! Keep up going! If you want you can listen to our interpretation on our channel:-) th-cam.com/video/SL8qCnGPEJ4/w-d-xo.html take care!
Bravo! You play so expressively, I cannot believe you are only 3 years in. I am going to start learning cello as an adult beginner as soon as our covid19 lockdown is over.....
I am 73 years old, I just retired, and I have had only 1 lesson. I started cello from scratch this Feb. I can only hope that before I die, I can play as well as you. That was magnificent! Thank you so much for making this video, it is an inspiration to those of us trying to learn the cello. Your playing was wonderful!
This is so inspiring to hear. I'm 18 years old and I play the cello and finished all my grades in both of them. I teach 13+ students the violin online and hearing this from an older person is so inspiring. You've got this!
Hope you're shredding that mofo right now.
So How are you doing 2 years later @michaelcloresandersm.d.7050 ?
I love music and i have a dream to learn to play a cello, but the price for cello is too high for me.I am collecting money to afford one. If you want you can support me here: gogetfunding.com/support-miroslavs-dream-to-play-cello/ . Thanks!
It's awesome man!!! Just keep doing what you do!
Dominic, you should passes 5 year check point, really hope you can post your latest progress we would be much appreciating jt.
Hey there, it´s actually already 6 years now... I know, I wanted to post a new video long time ago, but I always felt I was stuck and didn´t make any progress. Got a new teacher though and I hope I´ll improve faster now. Thanks for your interest! :)
@@dominikmorgenroth9468 wow, exciting to get your reply. It's already inspiraing to know you are still making progress, as a adult learner myself for 2 yrs, i definitly can imagine the possible bottleneck you could be hitting as harder it gets, less noticable progress as return. and congrats on passing 6 year mark and look forward your next progress update. we all stay tuned!
Very good playing for 3 years
How many hours/day and days/week on average. This is quite remarkable.
Thank You. Maybe 1 or 2 hours per day on average. But sometimes zero and sometimes 3.
I'm cello teacher with thousands of fligth ours as performer and teacher. About twenty years ago i realused how big mistake is to think music in terms of time. Just playing forget anything else.
@@dominikmorgenroth9468 I had a really good pianist in chamber music class, he used to advice to study instrument only 20 minutes and go for a walk, 20 min more, and break, and avoiding repeat, repeat, repeat the same thing. You develop what you practice, if you practice repeating, you will have repeating. If you pactice hard working as burden, you will have burden. Ease mood of mind, is needed as much as posible. Very wise advice.
I hope by my 3 year mark I can play as well as you, such a beautiful piece and approached so sensitively, I’ll be using this for inspiration!
Beautiful! I’m looking forward to learning this instrument. Any tips on buying my first cello? Thanks.
Beautiful! :-) What are you playing now?
Thanks! The last month i ve been playing chanson triste by tchaikovsky and before that the swan and gavotte by popper.
how much do you practice each day ?
Right now I try to practice 1,5 -2 h a day, but in average it´s maybe 1h a day.
You‘re right! You are truly an inspiration! I want to be there in 3 years as well :D
beautiful! The level of artistry you have achieved in three years of playing is miraculous. Best to you in your journey of playing the cello!
this is absolutely inspiring and you chose the perfect piece !!!
that was really beautiful, it sounds like you have been playing your whole life!
Would love a 5 year piece!
All I heard was vampire knight lol
