Welcome to my channel! In today's video, I'll be demonstrating how to recreate Zendaya's stunning Vogue cover look in watercolor. This iconic outfit, designed by Schiaparelli, features a dramatic, oversized rose that we’ll bring to life on paper.
Main color: carmine red
Shade color: a mix of carmine red and Prussian blue (with a ratio of approximately 2 parts red to 1 part blue)
I complete the petals one at a time to make shading easier and cleaner. I only paint adjacent petals after the previous one has dried to prevent the watercolor from spreading. As you follow along, you’ll gain a better understanding of the painting process. I’m using the wet-on-wet technique for this watercolor illustration. Start by applying a thin layer of water to the area (not too much, just enough to wet it). Then, paint the first layer with the main color. Then, the shadows. You can mix the shadow color separately on a palette or directly on the paper, but be cautious with the mixing.
