    I'm new to your channel. Another approach is to see how we should understand Genesis 1 in light of Exodus 20:8-11 and ask "What does 'Remember' (zakar /זכר) mean throughout the OT and its NT equivalent ἀνάμνησιν (anamnēsin)?" Specifically in relation to redemptive-historical (or in this case creational) events.

    No one watching this video was ever under the law of Moses, so what Paul wrote does not apply directly to anyone today. The OT prophets wrote that when the Messiah came, the two houses of Israel (Judah and Ephraim) would be reunited. The dividing wall between them was the law. Paul’s gospel was to the scattered Israelites living among the nations (non-Jewish Israelites) to call them back to Yahweh through a new covenant, a new covenant which was only promised to the house of Israel and the house of Judah (Jer. 31). Paul’s Gentiles were not non-Israelites. Paul’s Gentiles were uncircumcised scattered Israelites living among the nations. You have to start there if you’re going to understand anything Paul wrote.

    Regarding Galatians 3:19, when a single verse or small pericope is unclear it may because you’re looking at a leaf through a microscope. Take a step back to see the entire tree and the forest. I’m not suggesting an interpretation, just a an approach to getting a better picture.

      I really agree with this. I actually had this in my notes for the end of the video, "Interpret cloudy in light of clear, not clear in light of cloudy" but I forgot to mention it. I'm just collecting interpretations of interesting passages and posting them if others find them interesting. Not intending to build a whole theology- especially around verses like this.

    Humbly, may I suggest.. An intermediary implies more than one party. The Abrahamic promise is made by God to the Offspring. The fact that the Law covenant is enacted through an intermediary shows that it is not part of the covenant inherited by the Son. The proof is that God is one party: He doesn’t need an intermediary when giving things to God.

    I am really surprised that those scholars (who I respect) are all seriously getting Torah wrong. I highly recommend you do a book review of John Walton's "Lost World of the Torah" where he turns that whole law = legislation thing on its HEAD . He delves into the Near Ancient Eastern world to demonstrate they had no concept of government legislation so the "law" is a wrong translation of "Torah" which is instruction for wisdom (Deuteronomy 4:6) . Judges/kings would learn wisdom from the examples given to make decisions. Walton says Paul doesn't interpret the OT but the way the Torah had been used by the Second Temple Judaism or in Galatians the way the Judaizers were using it. Id suggest it's only relevant to understanding Paul and the Judaizers (Gordon Fee reconstructs the scriptural arguments of the Juadizers to show how Paul is countering their arguments) not generally the Torah. The church fathers knew nothing about the context of the Near Ancient East John Waltons book is a paradigm shift, he does have footnotes so he isn't alone

    The Septuagint is older and was translated from the living word by Hebrew scholars, not the Masoretic text. This is why Christianity exploded, because all the authors were preaching from the Septuagint because Greek was the world language at the time. The Masoretic text also made multiple changes to the text that differed from the original living word that is present in the Septuagint. So if you want to get to the original living word, you need to either just read the Septuagint or compare the two against each other.

    John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. What beginning was the devil murderering ? Genesis 1:1 In the beginning. Genesis 1 is ELOHIM (Lucifer and the fallen angels). They made this realm. They made man in their image. (tares) Man is an idol, a trap to hunt angels. Genesis 2:7 the Lord God forms His representative in their system. (wheat) One Gospel: Gospel (GOOD ANGEL) of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods). REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.

  • @jankragt7789
    @jankragt7789 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    very helpful, Caleb Smith. Thank you. I would not say ANY of these points are in any way trivial. When you're building a house you can see how it's all essential to holding something crucial together. Looking to its future use and its permanence is not trivial. We must learn to realize all "NEW" claims are parts of MOVEMENTS, working spiritually, often institutionally, academically, together toward something THEY want to believe, a vision that has come to infiltrate and dominate all else. That is not to say the so-called "Old" may not also suffer under its own dominance of vision that has twisted the truth, but then call that specifically & carefully out. In this case a radical turn toward "NEW" foundational ideas is just using "OLD" and its short-comings to quickly/sneakily establish a new AUTHORITY. In the case of undermining Paul's writings to supposedly honor & champion the raw "JESUS" this is a new DEMAND for freedom to create a NEW (supposedly radically shared we see in culture) AUTHORITY along with all its assumptions and worldview.. Many many non-believers see that & are jumping in to a gospel vision with a false mixing, merging & matching. Also the radical rejection of the individual by treating all conceptions of the individual in terms of individual-ISM and it's extremes in American culture in the past should be challenged-every time-because it is presently is an extreme fad/lie of academia that undermines truth & reality for the sake of the larger cultural MOVEMENT. It is a bully movement, a majority wins through elite lying love movement. If these theologians can't bother to observe and note these salient happenings that are presently viciously dominating in their own culture but YET can insist on giving that culture more power over Paul's theology they are obviously OFF. They are refusing to see the very opposite & far more difficult calling-this is their failing: to CHALLENGE the cultural powers & its spiritual & intellectual manipulation. They are love babies, loving themselves and the world, serving the wrong master. It is a type of endlessly-interesting & creatively self-fulfilling Bible masturbation.

  • @jankragt7789
    @jankragt7789 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Well done. If we keep in mind that MOVEMENTS have come to take over the culture we live in, over many years and now those involved more subtlety are tasting total dominance and self-indulgence, you can trace the development of leaders like NT Wright & their capitulation We are being groomed to the vision and euphoria/mania of the world under a worldly multicultural lying love. If the advocates admitted & challenged the "rats" in the multicultural revolution perhaps their changed views could be considered, though not orthodox. But by NOT taking on the evil in the present movements & their powers, these views must be marked with great suspicion and those advocating them criticized very closely for suddenly discovering a new "reading" of Paul. This reading is not a helpful reading at our cultural moment, but a harmful compromised reading There is a sense of horror when you see what is going on. What is required is continual reading of these passages. for a fresher much fresher view (a truthful view) and hard questions and insistence that the full secular non-Biblical highly enculturated paradigm they FOLLOW be exposed & challenged over & over & over.

    Malpass has destroyed this argument, or more boradly this type of argumentation. I am surprised people even bring it up anymore. But for those interested, you should be particularly suspicious of any ideology which: 1. Tells you that you were "chosen" specifically to understand it. 2. That people outside your ideology have no standing to question your beliefs. 3. That people who no longer hold to the ideology were never "true adherents" 4. That you dont "really" believe what you believe. It doesnt matter if it is a religious sect, MLM, conspiracy theory etc.

    Thee most correct cutting of His word is that between the gospel of Jesus and the gospel of the risen Christ and smack dab in the middle is the most important event in the history of the universe, the cross of Christ. And these two radically different gospels are NOT to be mixed because doing so just causes chaos and confusion and brings great joy to Satan. The basics: The Jews, Circumcisionists v. The Gentiles, Uncircumcisionists (Gal. 2:7 and OF is vital, not to); Under law, good works v. Under grace; Forgiven if you do this this and this v. Justified, declared righteous so no need for forgiveness; Must go through the tribulation v. Not appointed to indignation and thus snatched away before Jacob's trouble commences; A terrestrial destination v. A celestial destination; Peter and his peoplev. Paul and his people; The bride of the Lambkin v. The body of Christ. The latter are not under law but grace, thus under no covenants. The former are not under the new covenant until after the 1000 years when there becomes a new heaven and earth. During the 1000 years the old covenant still exists and earth's inhabitants have to do the law. With the new earth, God changes their hearts of stone to hearts of flesh. Hope this helps. Regarding law, never forget Romans 5:20: yet law came in by the way, so that the offense should be INCREASING.
