Adverts in the 80s were done proper.

Give a little love back to the world is so wrong in every way. Probably my least favorite UK entry of all time.

Did two years with Lloyds British, training for a dying industry. Got a qualification that wasn't worth the paper it was written on.

I like his style .

For those who might not know, Leslie did more serious roles (albeit sci-fi / fantasy) such as The Kidnapper in _Creepshow_ (1982) & as Commander Adams in _Forbidden Planet_ (1956)

There was a companion advert to this one. Memory is hazy but it involved a detective-like figure. He finds himself in a bar at a loss. For a brief second he catches the face of the girl he is looking for on the overhead TV. The moment he sees it the image on the TV snaps to white noise, and then instantly to a ball game. “To be continued” is once again displayed on the screen as we see a wide shot of the night streets, with the exact same sinister piano jingle played over the top of it as seen here, and the Kronenbourg logo. I’ve spent years trying to find it…

I bought a DB 770 eight years ago. It was cheap and I didn't know anything about DB. Now I try to get it ready to work again, after eight years of standing still. Engine started without any problem. Hydraulics works. Perfectly driveable. And the amount of documentation you can find for this is great. Hopefully I will get it to its white and brown glory again 😀

A Townsend Thoresen TV commercial from 1986. Not a ferry to be seen, but it extolls the virtues of being able to take your car abroad. Interestingly the P&O flag had already replaced the TT logo in their advertising at this stage. The ground was clearly being laid to totally rebrand the operation, even before the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster the following year.
