HG spends the podcast criticising the manager's tactics, player selection, formation choices & squad building. Yet he's 'Ange In'. Apparently, there is no one else out there who could do any better. Absolutely no one in the whole world of football? No one who would be worth a call to find out if they might be interested before declaring 'mission impossible'?
to answer... I think Ange has made mistakes. for things to get better, I think he has to change things. and the same is true of any manager who would come in and make things better. so given the choice of the incumbent changing things or some new guy changing things, I'd rather have the incumbent do it.
I would agree except that Ange has said he won’t change.
Johnson isn't a winger. He might be a striker, but we won't find out until Ange is gone - he ain't changing anything (he seems to think he's got it all sussed already).
We have had over a years worth of poor performances with this manager, an appalling away record and he has questionable talent ID. The team is so easy to play against, we have commentators, opposition managers and players all saying they know how we play and they look to exploit the space we leave behind the FB's In addition, Ange has previously said his way of training causes injuries and despite these injuries he refuses to change his tactics which simply do not work. He is one of the worst managers I can remember us having. The bigger issue is of course our chairman who has limited interest in the football team and seemingly prefers concerts, NFL and go kart racing tracks to building a successful football club Ange out Levy out
Ange Postecouglou is one of the best managers in world football; his success is remarkable. He is a master tactician, and his team's current strong performance further demonstrates his abilities. No managers can out smart him. We are going places with Ange .Many of my Chelsea and Arsenal mates want us to keep Ange forever. They're happy for us .
I don’t care about XG? C’mon lads. You don’t get goals without XG. Results will come.
Maddison 8 goals and 4 assists in 15 games Morgan Gibbs White 2 goals and 3 assists in 14 games.. Somebody is not doing the math. Maddison is a far better player than MGW. The problem is that Johnson can't beat a man, he just arrives in the final third against average teams mostly. He goes a hide for the majority of games neglecting his responsibilities and he doesn't track back. Son and Kulu always hold onto the ball too long and by the time they make up their mind to pass, the opposition has already set up their defensive structure. Werner has been finished for over five seasons. Maddison getrs crowded out by either Kulu, Son, Porro or Undogie, he's not being allowed to play as a 10. and our wingers are not good as the type of wingers needed to create space for Maddison to work through balls.
Ariola would be the choice for me, I think he could be the new Poch
Your Yates comments were spot on. I'm happy that Spence is showing what he did for us in our promotion season. It's going to be an interesting game. You Reds!
As a Forest fan I dont know why you don’t play Johnno and DJed together on the right, they know each others game inside out and would rip up most teams. They have matured and developed since our promotion season and would be frightening now, just need to let them have a good run together.
Spurs type of play and our style of hit on the break this game ( forest) it sould be a goal fest maybe even a 6 - 3
TOO MANY ‘R’s in the screen Title on the front. Anybody else notice this
To be honest, I've a soft spot for spurs, I've family in the area who follow, whenever they play ( not against us) i want them to win
Just laughed out loud at "We're just too big"
Forest are the bigger club historically and currently
Yates + Maddison = Fun
i genuinely believe that if you stick with Ange for the rest of the season you'll be decent next year. You've been buying future talent and, until they've found their feet, you'll struggle a little. But it is the way forward. Sadly, binning Ange off at this stage will leave you in limbo.
I like Spurs as a football club and like the football they try to play but sometimes get the impression their fans think they're Barcelona or Real Madrid with the expectations they hold. Since 1990 Spurs had two 3rd place and one 2nd place which happened over a span of three seasons, with four 4th places in the rest of that time. To my mind expectations mean being in with an expected shout for the title. I can see where Spurs might be hopeful but that doesn't carry the same weight as expected in the same way Man City, Liverpool, or Arsenal are. Even Man Utd have lost that aura of expected. Spurs are a decent club but until they start winning titles the expectation has to be more hope than conviction. I don't mean any disrespect by that, just that when someone says "the expectations of this club" it's fair to ask what those expectations are. I'd rather see Spurs do well than Chelsea but Chelsea built up that expectation a few years back and have been spending like they still have it. arsenal are rebuilding the expectation and with Liverpool it looks like it might be about to happen, City have that expectation and at the moment it's slipping. With Spurs it's like they ought to be but it never happens.
Great show! 👏👏 have a great Christmas! 🎉
Djed and Jonno both need to be played on the right, all the time. They know each other well and will cause problems for defenders. Trust me, I watched them with Forest a lot and they were the best in the championship at what they did. I predict a 3-0 win for Forest. 42:02
3 - 0. ? Not a hope in hell
Could have been 10…deluded fanbase
Great show guys! COYS!! 👏👏👏
Jamie Carragher, the Champions League winner? Just a nobody, of course. Those few "mickey mouse cups" he won - mere trifles, hardly worth mentioning alongside the truly important silverware. And his insightful football analysis? Pure nonsense, obviously. Clearly, his decades of experience and expertise are completely irrelevant. Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou, the master tactician who conquered the footballing wildernesses of Japan, Australia, and Scotland... he's the real deal. His football knowledge? Exceptional, naturally. No need for evidence or critical analysis, his success speaks for itself. After all, winning trophies in those far-flung lands is clearly equivalent to dominating Europe for years on end. Right? Next game Spurs 4 Liverpool 3
You've copy and pasted your comment on multiple videos. And how many teams has Carragher ever managed? He was a good player in a good team, simple as that. He's your typical conservative English pundit recycling the same opinions echoed everywhere else.
David my boyfriend said you should start your own channel your so brilliant and witty. Truly enjoyed watching you guys today.
Great show again guys! 😂👏👏👏👏
1st time to see you folks. Excellent analysis & I appreciate a calmer demeanor (in comparisn). I thought at the time that forsters brilliant pass out of the back to timo was the play that put ange over the edge because that was a moment that could have been pivotal.
Ange is totally at fault for the situation in which we find ourselves. He has consistently said he wont change anything and the players have to work it out for themselves. So if you take him at his word then whatever they do, and however much they do it, that should be sufficient. Players taking him at his word will also see as human beings that others are not pulling their weight. And if they double down as individuals and try to do the right thing by Ange they end up shattered, knackered, injured and feeling hard done by because Ange is not treating all players equally. In fact with the injuries alone to VDV for example where has had to be our defensive saviour, he may never recover now to his former level, because of the absence of a properly defined way of playing. You said yourself Porro has to do twice as much running, Ben Davies is another who has given it a go, and some who you might say have either thought 'bugger that for a game of darts', or come to their senses. All I see basically is some of the players, if not all coming to the same conclusion, that self preservation has come into the mindset. Especially as Ange has also said that we train as we play; so inevitably players are spent and either injured or on the cusp of injury before each game. A player's career is short, and more so at the very top level. So busting a gut at training and playing at the time is just not sustainable. OK let's have it right, it was sustainable for 10 games at the very beginning, then the wheels fell off and it not been the same since. I really feel for the lads. It's like the Charge Of The Light Brigade where those cavalrymen were told by their General Ange, Lord Cardigan, we don't worry about riding headlong into Cannons, it's who we are mate. Go for glory. I don't agree that you wait until everything has gone to shit before Ange has failed to win with every possible winning scenario being impossible, whilst at the same time taking player's careers with him, before you try to put things right. Ange has said he is not changing, so for the sake of the Club, the Players and the Fans the Board. ie' Daniel Levy has got to get rid of Ange. He is just a bloody liability, who's comments from the start have all been about giving him time and plenty of money, to implement a philosophy. Well as far as I am concerned he has had more than enough of both. He does not deserve any more consideration at all. End of.
Spurs turned James into an emo.
The media specifically asked him about Werner numerous times…Ange also said he wasn’t the only player that was shit
Ange appears to be a hypocrite. He advised Romero against publicly criticizing the board for not supporting the manager. However, Ange himself is now publicly criticizing Werner. How can this be justified?
First time listener. Matt chatting facts.
Great show as always! 🎉
Great Show Guys, loved this one, great panel too. Brilliant points made
Thanks Jason!
A rebuild is necessary. Ange In. What's the point on getting someone else in and starting the whole process again. We have an attacking manager ... you build squad around that philosophy. If Ange doesn't deliver (after giving him the tools to at least have a go!) then you sack him and get a similar manager with attacking philosophy so the squad fits the style. Nobody wants the pragmatic BS we saw under Conte/Mourinho.
First time uve seen him look up 😮
Ange leave now
Just proves how rubbish our squad is embarrassing.. 🙄🙄
Just found this podcast and I really enjoyed listening also cheers to David for filling in 🥂
Great guy and great coach, coming from an Arsenal fan that must mean something.
Didn’t understand a word
It was beautiful
Me watching footballers pass the ball around the back at the 90th limit when they’re losing 3-2
Drag-u-sheen
We’d rather loose than play a number 6, it’s what we do mate.
Wanyama’s injury derailed the whole Poch era
Great show as always - thank you for not being too doom and gloomy!!! (Although my Mum's comment on Skype that "it's just a game..." really didn't help!!) 👏👏👏👏
I thought this week Maddison would have been first name on the teamsheet.. no love lost between him and Ipswich but you give him a few minutes at the end.. thanks for the 3 points .
Just writing to say you're a favorite Spurs channel - cheers~
Do you want to re-record this John? Lol!
Enjoy the game John, I'll be watching in Western Australia where KO is 10pm. Spurs 3-0.and them lot draw with the other lot. Tottenham in 3rd by Monday . COYS.
Need to begin to swap in Spence & Gray for these home game against bottom 6 teams at home. They will have to do it later in the season due to injuries and game time management... So start doing it today. And Gray was better than Porro on Thursday.
Think it depends on how fit Spence is as hes been injured and hasnt played for a few weeks. It seeems Gray will play midweek games and rotate left and right back. Wonder if we might see Reggie at all?
Tottenham 4 - 1
Be nice to make it 3 x 4-1 wins at home in a row in PL
