Never ever have a pinion gear on the motor. You should have removed that first then tune or change your esc. This would have prevented the motor from turning thus saved your esc from smoking. As soon as it took off you should have shut it down fast. Your qs8 connectors, when you were connecting them, you need to have the other side connected. The heat moves the pins. Keep them aligned by connecting them together next time. So when you soldier them together it should look like as if you had the battery plugged into a running car. That will keep your pins from moving with the heat.

I got the copper head esc in mine with castle motor 3800 kv I'm running 50+ mile an hour is that a decent esc for the drag racing scene

Man i feel your pain. I've done similar things. Also, setting up a drag car isn't as easy as people think. A lot goes into that 132FT pass. It's so much more than just pinning the throttle and going straight. VERY much admired your message at the end of the video. Agreed with every single word, subbed immediately

I had the same thing happen to me. I rev the m17. It seems logical to do and somethings ive done when i fly drones. But apparently not in drag cars. Lol.

Bummer ! Those esc's are hard to get now . I recently had an expensive ceramic bearing (new ) fail on the diff and it did similar damage , but my esc survived . Maybe pull the spur off before while setting up new electronics !

If you remove the slipper clutch, what do you replace it with? I'm new to this hobby drag race

I have the R1 with the V2 shocks. Why would I have to spend another $150 on shocks? Wouldn't replacing springs be more feasible? I have a couple sets on the way.

Hey Brother as far as I am concerned you did a bang up job because going to a first time race for yourself is absolutely nerve wrecking from the jump and for you to just say flip it I'm going racing with just you and your car is AWESOME MAN!!! which I know full well about the R1-WURKS DC1 OUTLAW NO PREP DRAG CAR because that's what I have got and you are absolutely right about R1 being on sale for $350.00 for the R1-WURKS DC1 V2 KIT and $450.00 for the R1-WURKS DC1 V1 KIT differences being are one comes with the V1 SHOCKS and the other comes with the V2 SHOCKS which are a more cost effective set of shocks and I am actually ordering some 7lbs.
