In this episode I break ground on the Off-Grid Garden. Clearing a site, Cutting timber, prepping logs to go in the ground, and installing the perimeter fence posts for the garden. Great looking copper heat shield. I just bought a wood stove. Can you tell me where you purchased that copper and did they make the edge bends for you for the air gap?
Thank you! I had it fabricated from a metal bending company. They bent the edge bends for the air gap to local code.

Great Job. I live in the Country as well-problem with deer-woodchucks-raccoons-squirrels, you name it. I read where you don't need a fence that high if you put raised beds in there kinda close together (spaced every 3' or so) where they won't jump over the lower fence. Don't know but sounds good.

So far my only experience has been with game cameras but I have been meaning to try shooting from a blind.

Hey thanks! We loved the stone and copper. No we didn’t insulate the floor, I was on the fence about it. It’s such a small space to have to heat so I didn’t think it was necessary, but it might have been a good idea, I guess we will see haha.

I am curious as to why you burned the bottom part of some of the logs. Is that to prevent them from rotting when you put them in the ground?
Yes it helps with rotting. Partially as a waterproofing agent and also to deter bugs from eating it.

Isnt the paper suppose to go outside the sheeting on the outside wall?
I didn’t do sheeting, just studs, housewrap and siding, so in this case it went on the outside face of the studs.
Why do you use electric chainsaw why don't you use gas-driven chainsaw is it because it's environmentally friendly very strange
I just find it easier to use electric for smaller jobs. Also it makes way less noise. Nothing wrong with gas though, I have one as well.
