@@enen.ratsky catacombs suck. The imps for the most part, especially the ones in the DLC. In the base game, I don't remember the name of it, but it has all enemies that are protected by shadow and cannot be hurt, that is until they are brought to a specific light source. It is by far the worst one, and I have only done it once across my multiple play throughs.

@@enen.ratsky oh,I just remembered, if you are not ready to use a shield yet, you can still block incoming attacks with your weapon. You do not need a shield to block. Shields are the strongest block, but blocking with your attack weapon will still protect you better than not blocking anything at all. you will lose less health if you block in some form.
