3:10 love it
My favorite soundtrack from this game. I first played it on ps2.
This is much better than the Genesis version.
Me and my friends use to sing "dancing with myself" from Billy Idol while playing this at the arcade
Honestly, parts of the 1st theme remind me of Vacation by The Go-Gos.
0:00 good old 80s music
I don't like SX's soundtrack that much, it sounds like someone slashed the music and cut parts of it off.

Best Classical Game Music!
This is the best port of Shinobi for a home system. It's even harder than the arcade version too. It's very accurate, right down to the shitty, disappointing ending.
But it's missing so much content, even compared to the SMS and NES versions.
0:48 World 1 Prehistory "Awaken" 5:11 World 2 Medieval Europe "Inherit" 9:48 World 3 China Before Revolution "Turning Point" 14:05 World 4 Future Robots "Contract" 18:21 Ending
Thanks
0:00 disc warning. "This is for PC Engine not for CD players" ... Then starts playing the soundtrack fine lol

Please someone tell us what they said at the beginning of this muisc please!
One thing I really dislike about TH-cam videos of classic 16-bit gameplay is that it seems TH-cam only allows 30fps (I could be wrong, but all the videos of classic games play at 30fps instead of 60fps like you would get if you actually played the console on a TV). Because of this you lose the smoothness of the animation and gameplay, things look slightly "jerky" and uneven, and on top of that any transparency effects that utilize the every-other-frame method come across as either completely solid, or completely invisible (since the playback is effectively "skipping" every other frame). Does anyone know why this is? It seems like in 2017 we should have the technology to play things back at 60fps. This video is a great example because on the actual console, this thing plays so fast and SO smooth, yet here it comes across like a jerky NES port (probably a bit harsh, but you get the idea).
my bro paid $100 for this on TRBOGRFX 16. did anyone else pay that much in north america?
Unless prices have skyrocketed, he probably got ripped off. I lived in Seattle when I first bought this for TG16, granted it was probably 12 or more years ago, but I think I paid under $10 for a copy that looked brand new. I bought it as part of a game lot, but even had I bought it alone, I can't imagine paying more than $15. I still have it, and even having played the crap out of it, still looks almost new. :)
oh I was meant release price from the 90's. not recent collector's price.
Well then, I would say he still got ripped off, as this game retailed for 7,200 yen when it was originally released in the early 90s. 7,200 yen is $65 in 2017 dollars, which translates to roughly $33 in 1990. So yeah, I don't see this title ever even approaching $100. I was active in the TurboGrafx-16 community as far back as 1990, and I don't recall this title ever being rare at all. Back in "the day" (read: early to late 90s) there were lots of mail order "import" game stores that carried JP TG-16 titles like this one, and they often marked them up, but usually the mark up was only $10 or so unless the title was highly sought after. That would still put it only at $43-$45.

the track starts in 07:18 is my favorite...u made me cry...thank you :(
3:03 best soundtrack IMO
This is one of the best early ports, very true to arcade.

For me, this was the best release of After Burner II.
its super fun, but a little too easy for replayability imo
Great version of this game. Better than the Genesis version (though the sound effects aren't quite as good as the Genesis version) and right behind the 32X and Saturn versions.
3:02 The Boss stage Like Japanese traditional song "桜(sakura=cherry blossoms") So cool
