The reduced level of the first point was 208.125 m. Rule out a page of a level field book and enter the above readings. Calculate the reduced levels of the points by rise and fall method and also the gradient of the line joining the first and the last point.
Solution.
Since the readings were taken on a continuously sloping ground, the maximum staff reading can be 5 metres only, and therefore, sixth reading will be a fore sight taken on a turning point and the seventh reading will be a back sight. Also, the first reading will be a back sight and the last reading will be a fore sight.
