HOW is that palette, ive been considering buying it but still not sure bc of the size

Yellowish green is a sap green color. If you mix sap green or yellow green color with some red you get olive green

I couldn't find a video on when you put extra pans in this set, how did it go? I am waiting for my 36 pan set! How have you liked the set over time?

I remember that the pan is with ox gall. And the tubes not.

you can add individual pan, at least very availably in East Asia. And Holbein is relatively cheap here, too, comparing to brands such as Daniel Smith whose price is basically the same to that in USA. And the W N watercolor is quite expensive here.

Are you experiencing the same problem I have re: magnet is weak ; and is it normal that the watercolor in pan is always moist? Thanks.

I got mine today, the 18 colors it cost me JPY 9180 (USD 86.13). My initial findings: 1. Brush is very good, holding a lot of paper 2. tray sit perfectly on the cover but not on the side lip of the pan container, the water/color wash will definitely will flow sideways and 3. the plastic tray quality needs to improve, the watercolor paint leaves mark and you cannot totally remove them

I have been doing allot of botanicals lately so I think this is the set for me.

Kelly I know you have Holbein watercolor and now Sennelier Watercolor which one do you like working with the best?

Great video , i have sennelier gouache and it doesnt dry to crumbly and resets beautifully and has the same stunningly beautiful qualities as sennelier watercolours

How have you liked your Schmincke? I feel like with these paints a second layer will make the color more vibrant. But this brand is not a "punch of color" right away. I love the colors you chose. I have a few but you introduced me to ones I have not seen. Happy painting!

Love this... So glad I found your other channel (This one). I love D.S. watercolors. I also love Schmincke. I'm about to try Holbein, but I've ordered them in tubes. I have only tried two Sennelier colors and I liked them so far. Love the Lenormand cards you showed.

Are that Akademie or horadam? In horadam There is no White in the mixes.

White nights are also professionelle line. I love them. Make a test: First Wet the paper and let it for second, then put colors on it. You will see them move better. And White nights are Made with honey- like Senneliere. Rennesance i don't know- it is a shame that it is so Hard to get art supplies from a not her contries. Go on, i like it

I'm such a nerd, I'm one of those who loves swatching while watching other people swatch, haha. Great commentary too, I learned a few things. Love Sennelier but I'm dying to get my hands in some QOR soon, the boldness and the way it moves is amazing.

494 is Ultramarine Finest, a non-granulating ultramarine. :) As to umbers, one is burnt other is green. :) And I agree about that ochre, that it looks as if it was quin. gold-ish, I adore it, though it looks poopy in pan, lol. And in that set all are single pigment, so no white in them. :) And I'm in love with that Perylene Green, at first glance it's rather unspectacular, but it's so gorgeous.

With mix of White Nights and Renesans, that makes rather nice set to work with. :) And that green gold, or golden green, or whatever its name is, is one of my most fav colours. :)

I'm thinking of switching out my holbein colors. They're too liftable!

Nice set. It looks very good for travel. If you like these paints you should check out Nicolle's Dream for her swatching of all 108 Holbein watercolours.

This turned out very soft and beautiful~ It has a vibrant but soothing feel to it. I do agree, the colours have a lot of depth without looking murky. It was fun watching how you mixed colours and how the scene came to life!

Absolutely lovely watching you swatch this, Sennelier are wonderful paints and I really enjoy using them. The reds in this palette are pretty 💕 Alizarin Crimson by Sennelier is actually a 3 pigment mixture, meant to replace the actual Alizarin Crimson pigment which is very fugitive. You're very right about the cobalt violet light hue, it has white in it. It's not a true cobalt violet, which is a granulating single pigment colour (a very pretty colour indeed). Sennelier calls their cobalt violet "red violet". I'm also glad they don't include a white although it can come in handy depending on the technique one uses. I use black sometimes to colour black hair or to make ink wash style paintings with just black. I do wish they had some other greens in this set too, like an olive or sap as you mentioned. A Hooker's green would be nice too.

This was very enjoyable and relaxing to watch...it was fun seeing you unbox and try out your new Holbein paints. I really love HWC, they're very pigmented, smooth and rewet super easily (as you mentioned). There's a few things I'd like to clarify about some of the colours here...the vermillion in this palette isn't a true vermillion but rather a "hue". This is a 3 pigment mixture, which has yellow in it and this is why it has an orange feel to it. Cadmium pigments are opaque in nature, so all the cadmium colours are very opaque. I'm not sure which cobalt blue is included in this set, but neither their true cobalt blue nor the hue variant has any white in it. Overall this set has a lot of nice colours, esp that shadow green (Perylene green) is truly wonderful. I've been eyeing it for a while, and it's a great purchase I feel. I also especially like the fact that the palette is detachable and can be attached to any of the sides. There's also a very pretty little red box set, it's soo cute I feel like buying it just because of how tiny and adorable it is 😅
