BSIAB2 short demo - cheap Epiphone SG Bully through a Gibson GA15RVT
No other effects, no reverb. Gibson GA15RVT volume is on "1," with tone and bass at 75%. Please go easy on my playing. I have nerve damage in my hands.

Hi, I have a similar problem. When I press start button it takes 15 to 20 seconds to start moving and also 15-20 seconds to stop when I press it again. So I will get some lithium grease first and then clean that part which is covered in a dark grease chunk. Any Ideas how to get to the start button? maybe the contacts need to be cleaned?

Hello, I recently bought an SL-Q30 from a thrift store and I am having the same problem. Would the same fix work here?

every Technics tt I have ever owned had some problem or another..my Pioneer PL 518 is still going strong only thing I had to do was deoxit the pitch controls

You must have been unlucky, I've had lots of good ones which hadn't been opened. 90% of the times there was an issue it just needed a bit of cleaning or Deoxit-ing.

@@dirkvantroyen9170 no such thing as being unlucky...I have had marantz pioneer technics..some were worse than others..some people just didn't know how to take care of them...plus you can't take them apart in a shop to inspect them..same with ebay purchases

This goddamn table. Same problem, but the mechanism just barely doesnt activate. Cleaned the gunk off, used lithium grease to relube it and... still same problem. Worn spring maybe. Though the spring seems pretty plyable still. Damn frusterating though.

Don't use lots of grease, apply thinly. Also take off the circlip and washer, they're sticky and need cleaning.

Just repaired mine the same way and also replaced all 17 electrolytic capacitors by new ones from Panasonic. Some where actually physically leaking a bit. You wouldn't want that green stuff ruin the pcb. Nice player. For me it's a keeper.

Yes, I need to replace the electrolytic capacitors in mine. I use an Oracle Alexandria MkII as well as the Technics. The automatic return is a very convenient feature.

Update: lithium grease works much better, and the mechanism operates more quietly with it.

Excellent point. When I replace the electrolytics, I'll clean and lubricate with lithium grease.

Look for Super Lube synthetic grease.
