    What if you don't have the money for proper treatment?

  • @mikeykoumanias88

    What happens if i was injured and shortly after lost my health insurance benefits from my job i had for years due to reduction in hours due to the injury and shortly after losing my job because I could no longer perform my heavy lifting duties? What happens if I could no longer afford to pay for treatment or seeing the recommended specialist because I lost all my benefits, income shortly after my injury. I was able to see a Dr right after and used my insurance for the 1st visit and borrowed money to see 1 out of 2 of the recommended specialist shortly after liability was established. I was able to come up with $80 for an emergency visit to the same Dr due to a bad infection and was told my injury got worse while waiting for the adjuster 17 months. The pain is so bad that I scream into a pillow and I started to get chest pains and getting cold sweats and really bad anxiety. The infection is so bad that i was given 2 cycles of antibiotics back to back with really strong pain medicine. My jaw pain is getting so bad that after I attempt to eat i get migraines so bad that i start seeing flashes / colors when I close my eyes. I don't have money to get treatment, ive been out of work for 14 months. I was able to tough it out for almost 3 months doing hard labor to the point my jaw swelled up like a softball and my last day of work i walked 3 miles to work and went straight to do my job and my boss wasn't there but had 2 workers tell me that i have to clock out and leave and was fired. I'm in desperate need to get back to work but in all honesty, I can't even focus on anything but the pain and calming myself down for panic attacks and haven't had a sleeping routine for over a year. I used to be the strongest man I knew, I would do pull ups, push ups on my breaks. I was big in calisthenics and taking care of my body. I was in the best shape of my life before I got injured and about to get a promotion, i proposed to my girlfriend and was about to get married and get a home but shortly after i got hurt, things started to change and my injury made it hard on my relationship and after a few months my fiancee broke up with me and honestly she's a really good woman and I understand. We stopped going on our adventures to the beach, the springs, national parks because of my pain and my income loss and we used to cook / eat together and my jaw injury affected me eating. Before my injury my body was strong / built, i weighed 144lbs and now 17 months later i weigh 87lbs. Since I got hurt i never ate to the point of being full because my jaw would pop, crack and even lock in place in an unbearable pain. The insurance company sent me 1 offer back in March almost half a year ago that wouldn't even cover treatment nevermind loss of wages. The pain and suffering i experience everyday is off the charts. There's not enough money in the world to go through this one day / night. I usually fall asleep out of Extreme exhaustion when the sun comes up the next day. I don't know what to do for income. My mom was a single mother, my only parent, the only 1 that truly had my back and she passed away in 2021. I had to move in with my grandma and she lives on social security and I feel like the biggest burden because I put her in a suffering position because she sees what I'm going through everyday and knows how i was before I got hurt. My family is small and counted on me before I got hurt, we look out for each other the best we can and it breaks my heart everyday knowing we depleted her little savings paying for my survival. Now we can't even use our air conditioner because we can't afford the electricity. I know it's Rare when someone says they try their best and they actually are but i did try my best until my face swole up to the point i couldn't open my mouth working. I have a good sense of myself and what I'm capable of and it absolutely destroys me knowing that I can no longer do what I used to, to be a man for my family and provide. I feel like I'm no longer me. The pain has been getting worse and I don't know what else to do. I have alot of migraines now and been getting chest pains when I have screaming pain and it gives me really bad panic attacks where i feel like I'm going to die. I never had problems like this before my injury and I feel the neglect from the insurance company has made me so much worse. I know once i get treatment, I will have a healing journey ahead of me and i pray to have a day in the future of being healed and I know once that day comes everything else is going to hit me, like losing the my relationship/ the love of my life, my job that i loved that I worked so hard for and the moments of unbearable pain that gives me a temper and being short with family, the only ones by my side. I will forever hate myself for that. I used to be that happy go lucky man, the one you would come to for help and be there for you. I used to go on little adventures, i used to play pool on an APA pool league and even won most valuable player in my district. I'm a law abiding citizen and even served a term being on the Grand Jury the summer of 2022. I had so many dreams and goals i was crushing before I got injured and now my only goals, my only wish is to be seen, heard and be treated like a human being. No human being should experience / feel what i do everyday. It's inhumane to have someone suffer the way I'm suffering. I wouldn't wish this on any living being. This injury has destroyed the life that made me smile and the worst part is i was a customer of a huge company and they completed their investigation last year and said they are Liable for what happened to me but the insurance company is giving me a hard time. I was forced to file a complaint / lawsuit but i want to know what's the best thing for me to do if i can't afford the treatment because I lost my health insurance tied to the job i was fired from due to this injury because I could no longer perform my duties. I tried getting a settlement loan and was denied, i tried getting a regular loan but can't without income and tried getting a credit card but was denied. I had to pawn family heirloom gold and ended up losing that because I couldn't afford to forward the loan. Any thoughts, opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I just don't know what else to do. Thank you for your time, attention and reading what I'm going through.

    Dr.Evil Insurance denies claims on innocent people injured . As soon as a lawyer is involved , the tables start to turn…no one wants to be on disability unless forced by injury at no fault of their own and lose 40% of their income…Punitive lawsuits keep Dr.Evil in check..they tread water lightly.

      Thanks for the question. Depending on the jurisdiction and the insurance policy, the child may be able to advance a claim. In some jurisdictions there are also funds available to the victim where there is no insurance coverage. We would need more information to assess the options in this particular situation, and invite you to get in touch with our office to see if we can assist. Thanks for your thoughtful question.

    What does it mean when you say “the deductible amount has remained the same, adjusted for inflation”. Has it remained the same or has it been adjusted for inflation? $100,000 adjusted for inflation from 1970 is almost $1,000,000.

    • @Iacobellilaw
      @Iacobellilaw 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The deductible is adjusted for inflation, so presently it is around $46,000. It goes up every year. For example, if the jury awards a plaintiff $100,000 on a verdict, the plaintiff will only recieve $54,000. Hope this helps.

    TPS says they will not come out to an accident and take a report unless there are injuries, happens overnight, or a hit and run, or involving a pedestrian or cyclist. They still wont take a report in most cases and will tell you to have your car towed to the collision reporting centre where you have to file the report yourself. They wont take a report unless they can see the vehicle

    • @Iacobellilaw
      @Iacobellilaw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sometimes police will want you to attend a reporting center if there are no reported injuries at the accident scene. Make the report as soon as possible and photograph the scene and vehicle damage.
