This is a basic technique for saving a couple frames here and there when using skip turbo. Some cutscenes become skip-able the moment you lose control. By holding the overlay map button, and then holding skip turbo, you can skip them as soon as possible, without the risk of opening the fan menu from using turbo too early.

I noticed that if you activate cutscene storage during Half Blue Skip, then collect an item, then just use pause turbo, you will eventually get a scroll transition which cancels the cutscene storage. Normally, it takes 9 slips to defeat Yami in phase 2, if you don't use any unnecessary brush techniques or attacks. However, it's possible to skip using a slip by attacking Yami at least 8 times during the phase.
