Great question and topic. Something I'd like to maybe discuss in a future video. First, I think there are way more cards in Japan than people think. Some cards were also never really easy to find (thinking back to like 2016). Having said that, there is no doubt a large number of cards shipped out of Japan every day/week/month. As long as margins are there, this will continue. A few things might happen, though. 1) International demand for Japanese cards could drop, making it not worth importing anymore. 2) The Yen could bounce back, killing margins unless prices abroad increase, which they might not. How much more will people outside of Japan be willing to pay for certain cards? Plenty of cards are already not worth buying from Japan. In the past, almost everything was worth it. People need to pick and choose a lot more these days. 3) If supply were to eventually be seriously diminished in Japan, the prices locally would go up, potentially making it too expensive to import from Japan. Supply and demand will likely cause this potential problem to simply fix itself. I wouldn't be too worried.

@Dark_ibex All great points, but I think you might be missing something 🤔. Outside of supply/demand and currency fluctuations, international collectors are slowly (and almost inevitability) dispersing a limited Japanese supply to the vast gobal market. By limited supply, I'm referring to lower printed sets and exclusive promo cards from the middle era. As someone who regularly travels to Japan (living in the Philippines), I've seen firsthand these cards literally vanishing from the shelves. The trouble is when cards leave Japan, they rarely make their way back, as many Japanese people don't order internationally...atleast not as common place as it is in the west. Over time, I predict a real scarcity of certain cards in Japan... what happens then is anyones guess.

@@matteroffact23967 Yeah, that's basically exactly what I addressed. A dwindling supply will increase the prices. As prices go up, fewer people outside Japan will buy. Look at vintage packs, for example. The only reason why they still occasionally make sense to buy from Japan is the weak Yen. They've already gotten so expensive that they are often cheaper on ebay from US sellers. The same is true for a host of cards from less printed sets. 4 years ago, you could have picked up almost every card in Japan and gotten a solid discount. These days, 95% is not worth buying for international buyers because they are too expensive. The Japanese market is and has been reacting to international buyers. I think you may also be relying a bit too much on your personal experience. Are cards scarcer than they were years ago? Sure, but card shops change stock so often anyone's personal experience provides limited info. I've seen "empty" stores that were full of these scarce cards a week later.

@Dark_ibex Where are the US sellers getting their stock from? 🤔... I would argue without a continuous supply of Japanese cards entering western markets, supply would dry up incredibly quickly. Sure, some of the supply is recycled within the US market, but there is always a lesser or greater amount entering from Japan. Plus, many of the rarer/niche cards can often only be found in Japan or on Japanese sites. I've just been buying up loads of raw EX battle boost reverse holos...good luck finding them on Ebay. I know a few people in Japan who also echo my experience, but... you're right, my perspective is mostly based on my subjective experience. That's what makes this an interesting topic for discussion, as there is almost no one with enough documented oversight to form an educated opinion on the subject. Only time will tell who is right.

Car enthusiasts swear by it, and I couldn't find anyone online complaining about the chemicals weakening their plastics with use. Just people saying they use it monthly on their car's plastics with no detriment. I'd say if you're weary, just don't buff it multiple times, buff out the scratches once and then just keep it clean the way you normally do* *unless your normal way of cleaning it scratched it.

@@chrismixel I used it on one of my slabs that was foggy and scuffed looks even better than new!!!I can actually see new details on the card I didn’t notice before after I put some water on it just to dilute anything only one slight weird affect is only on a certain part of the card when I hold it up to a led light it shines in this gasoline rainbow pattern in a very small portion (half a finger nail)only under led lighting when out right up to it I looked this affect up and it’s when the plastic is very clear and shines through other plastic…I assume since there’s no other plastic it’s shining through possibly just a effect from being so clean …not really worried at all about it tho

Thanks for watching! Don't get blinded by the prices; it's always a question of condition and 99% of the cards I inspect I never buy because they are too expensive for the condition that they are in. Also, I'm very sorry, but I don't have time to give individual advice other than what I show and say in my videos.

Depends on the place. If it's a famous card store, you can usually comfortably buy loose packs since these stores wouldn't risk their reputation. And for vintage, most Japanese vintage packs have a guaranteed holo, so there's no risk of weighing anyway.
